The people of Gaza can finally breathe a sigh of relief: Since yesterday, the Israeli Air Force has stopped bombing, the senseless killing has come to an end. More than 40,000 Palestinians are dead, including many children. It is good that this war is finally over, that the weapons are silent. But we must also ask: Why did a deal only come about now? Why does this war end on the day of Donald Trump's inauguration? The answer is simple: because no one had previously had an interest in ending it – so it is today in the Washington Post.
