Empowering Europeans to address the cost-of-living crisis (debate)
Madam President, fifty million people this year will choose to either warm up or have food on the table. This is the Europe that New Democracy, PASOK, Tsipras and other parties are calling us to be. The European Union – which in all its Member States is making great mobilisations for the high cost of living, the cost of housing, energy, against auctions, cuts in education – is playing its part in …

Affordable Housing Act (debate)
Mr President, hundreds of thousands of families are losing their homes. There is a battle with demonstrations and protests in Spain, Greece, and the European Union is pouring more oil into the fire. With this regulation, by promoting civilian housing-commodity, you finance investments and profits of construction groups with public-private partnerships and state-owned EU funds in the name of boosti…

Political prisoners in Cuba, in particular the case of Félix Navarro and his daughter Saylí Navarro
Madam President, whenever they conveniently speak of human rights violations in Cuba, using well-known anti-Cuban elements – some linked to the Miami mafia – they are exposed to the peoples and allied with the criminal and genocidal blockade of US imperialism, which tramples on any concept of human rights. It has caused hundreds of billions of dollars of damage in Cuba, deprives the Cuban people o…

Findings and recommendations of the Special Committee on the European Democracy Shield (A10-0199/2026 - Tomas Tobé)
Mr President, in the dangerous context of war readiness and engagement, the European Union and governments are creating a complex mechanism of manipulation, espionage and snitching, the falsified shield of democracy. The aim is to silence a cemetery in the places of work, brainwashed in the media, schools and universities, in culture. They seek freedom for what the European Parliament calls for: i…

Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism: extension of its scope to downstream goods and anti-circumvention measures (A10-0201/2026 - Mohammed Chahim)
Mr President, the revisions of the CBAM, the ETS, the Decarbonisation Fund confirm that the aim of the green transition was to strengthen monopolies with large sums of money in the fierce competition with China and the US, and for the people to pay the bill with expensive energy and fuel. Today, in the face of the escalation of the war fronts in Ukraine and the Middle East, the emerging capitalist…

Feasibility of a 28th tax regime and its potential to support EU competitiveness (debate)
Madam President, the so-called '28th regime' raises the level of increasing the profitability of groups. Through a single framework at European Union level and by providing for simplification of procedures, it liberalises the cross-border action of European monopolies in order to attract investment by raising capital vis-à-vis competitors from China and the US. A tax unit foreshadows new capital r…

Defending European democracy and the integrity of the European Parliament in light of revelations that an MEP was subject to surveillance by illegal spyware (debate)
Madam President, the wiretapping scandal in Greece, the surveillance, including spyware, of MEPs, soldiers and journalists are not isolated incidents. With EU directives and regulations, in their implementation by governments, the monitoring of everything became normal. The European Union is urgently calling for the adoption of the dangerous Chat Control mass surveillance regulation. It follows fr…

Coordination of social security systems (A8-0386/2018 - Gabriele Bischoff)
Mr President, the regulation serves the needs of capital for cheaper and more flexible labour. In practice, it adapts the current framework of personalized and commercialized hunger insurance, with the generalization of professional funds to the needs of the market, as recently announced by the New Democracy government through the Bank of Greece. Its aim is cross-border mobility, i.e. mass migrati…

Air passenger rights (A10-0191/2026 - Andrey Novakov)
Mr President, the regulation adopted invokes the rights of passengers in air transport, while meeting all the demands of the major groups in the industry that are making record profits and have already been swamped by state and EU subsidies. It further reduces the obligations of airlines, cuts compensation for passengers and paves the way for their definitive limitation, maintaining the rubber con…

Urgent measures to strengthen the competitiveness and safeguard quality jobs in the EU’s automotive sector (debate)
Madam President, you have admitted that there will be 600 000 redundancies, 100 000 in the Volkswagen Group alone. The European Union is frustrated to support the groups in the fierce competition with China and the US in a number of sectors – batteries, electrification – but above all by turning to the war economy as a profit-making outlet through the production of vehicles, tanks and dual-use ite…

Electrification Action Plan (debate)
Madam President, the European Union's electrification project is being put forward as an alleged response to a problem created by its strategy and the consequences of the imperialist wars in which it participates. It strengthens European Union-based groups in fierce competition with those that dominate, for example the Chinese in electrification. Expensive LNG, monoculture of RES and the energy ex…

The role of the EU in efforts for peace and stability throughout the Middle East after the announced deal between the US and Iran (debate)
Madam President, under the hypocritical title of ‘De-escalation in the Middle East’, the European Union is trying to hide the course of the escalation of war – despite fragile, temporary compromises – as well as the brutalities of its allies: the ongoing genocide of Israel against the Palestinian people, the atrocities against the 3 800 dead Lebanese people, the dirty US-Israel war against Iran, a…

High time to deliver on the Single Market, providing certainty and predictability for EU businesses and quality jobs (continuation of debate)
As we have revealed from this step, and in other cases, the anti-worker legislation approved by all the governments in Greece, the current New Democracy and the previous ones, have been approved and have the support of the European Union, such as the bill on thirteen-hour work, such as the change of the Labour Inspectorates related to the escalation and generalization of employer crimes-accidents,…

High time to deliver on the Single Market, providing certainty and predictability for EU businesses and quality jobs (continuation of debate)
Madam President, today first-hand workers know that the capitalist single market and quality jobs are incompatible. As "safeguarding safety and predictability", the European Union, governments and big employers mean the removal of collective agreements, labor relations rubber, thirteen-hour work, today for the goals of the war economy, the settlement of working time, four-day 10-hour (and put), th…

Political repression and humanitarian situation in Cuba (debate)
Madam President, Madam Vice-President Kallas, you know nothing about the US blockade of Cuba and its consequences, do you? Because what we have here today is another debate of convenience, while the United States reinforces the blockade against the Cuban people and increases the threats of military aggression against Cuba. This is further proof that the Union is complicit in intervention against a…

How to secure a sustainable future for the EU livestock sector in light of the need to ensure food security, farmers’ resilience and the challenges posed by animal diseases? (debate)
Madam President, the struggling stockbreeders on Lesvos see their lives buried in pits and the New Democracy government is deaf to their demands for 100% compensation for their losses, for full replenishment of lost income and vaccination, to limit unfair killings. First their animals were left unprotected in the face of the autocratic fever. Then an irrational lockdown was imposed by the governme…

The Commission’s 2025 Rule of Law report (debate)
Mr President, the report seeks to make European Union law the protector of people's rights and freedoms, when in reality it is the European Union's rule of law that brutally violates the rights of workers, young people, women, migrants and refugees, of other peoples, through wars that the European Union supports. Even some of the findings that the report may make are invalidated by the big picture…

Interim report on the proposal for the multiannual financial framework for 2028-2034 (debate)
Mr President, the European Union and its governments, in the spirit of NATO decisions, are preparing a war budget tool to compete with the Eurasian bloc under development, led by China and Russia, but also by the United States of America. The 1.8 trillion to boost the war industry, military mobility, dual-use infrastructure will be made by cutting spending on health-welfare, education, robbing pen…

One-minute speeches on matters of political importance
Madam President, we condemn the economic strangulation of Cuba by the United States, which is turning into genocide. It prevents oil imports, causing serious difficulties in the electricity supply. It is a deadly danger for thousands of people with ch…

Conclusions of the European Council meeting of 19 March 2026 (debate)
Madam President, in the Council, the European Union has regurgitated the false pretexts of the US and Israel for the dirty war on Iran, while leaving open the possibility of even greater assistance than it is already giving, as with Operation Shields. The focus is monopolistic interests in energy routes, investments in the "Palestinian Riviera" with the displacement of Palestinians, recons…
