About Check Some Votes
Transparency for Europe
Check Some Votes is a project by the Party of Progress. Our goal is to make voting in the European Parliament transparent and accessible to every citizen. We believe that democracy only works when citizens understand how their representatives decide.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Check Some Votes is an interactive tool that allows you to analyze the voting behavior of Members of the European Parliament. You can search for specific votes, see how individual MEPs voted, and view statistics on political groups and countries.
The data is sourced from public records of the European Parliament. We process this data to make it user-friendly and searchable.
Our system regularly checks for new voting results. As soon as new protocols are published, they are imported into our database. For plenary speeches, each individual MEP's contributions are refreshed every 2 hours.
The tool is developed and maintained by a team of developers and volunteers from the Party of Progress. It is an open-source project that is constantly evolving.
We use the European AI model Mistral to summarize the entire legal text. Please note that errors may occur.
Abgeordnetenwatch publishes only a selection of European Parliament votes: for the current term, their database holds about 1% of the roll-call votes we cover. Compared with howtheyvote.eu, the difference is that using Parliament's official API lets us show considerably more data. On top of that, our full-text search across every speech is not available anywhere else.
