The impact of the implementation of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) on SMEs, its administrative burden and challenges for the European Single Market (debate)
Mr President, thank you very much. One of the main arguments for joining the EU was free trade. But now the EU manages to destroy this too. Just look at the new proposal on packaging. If you run an online shop and get customers in another EU country, then it should be fantastic. More jobs, more customers, better finances. But no. If you sell directly to a consumer in another EU country, you must a…

The abduction, forced conversion and child marriage of Maria Shahbaz and the protection of girls in Pakistan
Madam President, thank you very much. A 13-year-old Christian girl from Pakistan was kidnapped last year. Under threat, she was forced to convert to Islam, and she was forced to marry an adult man. This was approved by a Pakistani court – an Islamist marriage. No child freely marries a grown man. This is barbaric and does not belong in a civilized world. No child should have to be abducted, forced…

Ongoing persecution of Christians in Nigeria, notably the Kawel village massacre
Madam President, thank you very much. I can stand here and say that I am a Christian without fear that I will be murdered or that my family will be subjected to violence. If I lived in Nigeria, this would not have been the case. Nigeria is one of the world's most dangerous countries for Christians. Churches are burned, families are murdered and women and children are subjected to sexual violence. …

One-minute speeches on matters of political importance
Mr President, thank you very much. The European Commission is making Europe dependent on China. While the US is asking whether Chinese-controlled, connected cars are a safety risk, the Commission is only wondering how quickly they can phase out the internal combustion engine. The US stops Polestar because China controls the technology. However, the Commission continues to pursue a policy that give…

Presentation of the Fertilisers Action Plan (debate)
Madam President, thank you very much. Have you heard of Urea? Many Europeans do not have it. But urea is a very important fertilizer and important for our food production. But now Europe is facing a crisis. Due to delivery problems in the Strait of Hormuz, which risks making it more expensive for our farmers. But this dependence on unsafe imports, it was predictable. Europe has its own resources, …

Women’s entrepreneurship in rural and island areas and outermost regions (debate)
Madam President, thank you very much. 90 new pages from the EU but zero answers for rural women. She doesn't need more strategies, she needs what all entrepreneurs need: She needs freedom, she needs capital, she needs roads that work and less bureaucracy. She doesn't ask for more gender mainstreaming, but asks: Do I get a loan? Is there internet? Can I run my business in peace? Entrepreneurship sh…

Importance of consent-based rape legislation in the EU (A10-0047/2026 - Evin Incir, Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus)
Madam President, thank you very much. This vote is not about women's safety. The left wants to pick political points through placard politics and goodness signaling. If the left had really cared about stopping sexual crimes, they would have long ago pushed through higher penalties with us and to expel foreign rapists. But the left is constantly voting against higher penalties and pushing for conti…

One-minute speeches on matters of political importance
Madam President, thank you very much. In this country we are in right now, nicotine pouches are banned, while cigarettes are sold on almost every street corner. France calls it public health, but it is not. When you remove less harmful alternatives, people don't stop. They start smoking instead. In Sweden, we chose reality over ideology. We made alternatives available and we have Europe's lowest n…

Cutting red tape to enable a competitive and clean transition – the urgent need to shorten and simplify permitting (debate)
Mr President, thank you very much. We are facing a serious situation – deindustrialisation, job losses – at the same time we are becoming increasingly dependent on dictatorship-China. Now everyone is saying the same thing: Authorisation processes need to be faster. I agree, but let's be clear. Every year, the EU introduces more rules, more reporting requirements and more controls. At the same time…

Tackling AI deepfakes and sexual exploitation on social media by making full use of the EU’s digital rules (debate)
Madam President, thank you very much. The use of AI images for violations is completely unacceptable, but banning an entire technology or platform is the wrong way to go. Some now see their chance to limit platforms they dislike. It is not about protecting anyone. It's about power and control over free speech. Uncomfortable opinions are increasingly described as threats to democracy, but the real …

One-minute speeches on matters of political importance
Mr President, thank you very much. In Sweden, we sometimes pay wind power companies to stop producing electricity. This sounds absurd, but it is a direct consequence of the expansion of wind power. Within the framework of the Green Deal and climate objectives, with subsidies and financing via the EU Investment Bank, several billion SEK has been invested in wind power. However, the industry is suff…

Mass kidnapping of children in Nigeria, including from St Mary's Catholic school in Papiri
Madam President, thank you very much. For over 15 years, Christians in Nigeria have been subjected to systematic Islamist violence. Villages are devastated, children are murdered, churches are burned down and people are kidnapped because of their faith. Nigeria's government, they are passive and let the Islamists ravage freely. This is religiously motivated terror with the goal of introducing shar…

One-minute speeches on matters of political importance
Mr President, thank you very much. Europe's electricity prices are more than four times higher than in the United States. But instead of low electricity prices, we are chasing unrealistic climate targets. At a huge price tag. Emissions in Europe? Yes, they have decreased. Not because of any wise policy directly, but because industry is closing down and jobs are disappearing. At the same time as th…

Outcome of the UN Climate Change Conference - Belém (COP30) (debate)
Exactly what I said in my speech: We will invest in research, development, innovation, cheap energy. But it is a bit interesting to hear the Centre Party, which claims to protect small businesses and forest owners, but constantly votes against their interests in this House and also in the Swedish Parliament. So I'd like to ask myself that.…

Outcome of the UN Climate Change Conference - Belém (COP30) (debate)
Mr President, thank you very much. COP30 ended just as expected. Discussions went in circles. But there was one thing the countries agreed on: Europe will pay. Climate finance from the so-called rich countries to the poor was now raised to SEK 3,000 billion per year, while China, the US, India, the BRICS countries and the Gulf countries account for more than two-thirds of global emissions. Yet the…

Gender Equality Strategy 2025 (A10-0210/2025 - Marko Vešligaj)
Madam President, thank you very much. The EU's gender equality policy is not brave. It's a coward and it's naive. You're stuck in a gender workshop. The focus is on choice of words, forms and norm criticism. At the same time, we turn a blind eye to the real problem: Islamization, honour violence, insecurity, parallel societies where women's freedom is actually sacrificed. And what does the EU do? …
