This is Europe - Debate with the Prime Minister of Portugal, Luís Montenegro (debate)

Watch

Madam President, ladies and gentlemen! We are talking about the future of Europe, while crucial people are working to gamble it away. There is the German Chancellor, the most unpopular head of government in the world – and you have to do that first! From the German national holiday, he travels directly to Kyiv to hand over fresh billions to the corrupt regime there. And in Brussels, the EU Commiss…

Urgent need for EU support to Ukraine against Russia’s escalation of its war of aggression (debate)

Watch

Mr President! Ladies and Gentlemen! More than EUR 220 billion has flowed from Europe to Ukraine since 2022. Germany provides the lion's share and has provided over €100 billion in bilateral support to Ukraine alone. And so it should continue according to the will of Chancellor Friedrich Merz and his party friend Ursula von der Leyen. While we are brutally saving and lacking money for health, infra…

2025 Commission report on Ukraine (debate)

Watch

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen! Ukraine is increasingly threatening to become the EU's coffin. The opening of accession negotiations paves the way for billions more to go to corrupt Ukraine. According to EU studies, Kyiv's accession to the EU will cost EUR 186 billion. Who's gonna pay for this, please? The population in Europe and especially in Germany is asked to pay for this madness. While s…

Political repression and humanitarian situation in Cuba (debate)

Watch

Madam President, The Hamburg-based shipping company Hapag-Lloyd and the French shipping company CMA CGM are now stopping all orders to and from Cuba. The background is the extension of a decree by US President Donald Trump; It is now also aimed at foreign companies. I ask you: What is the EU doing about the brutal US starvation policy against Cuba, which is nothing more than a crime against humani…

Europe's response to reduced US military deployments in Europe, particularly at its Eastern flank in the light of the latest US decisions (debate)

Watch

Madam President, One has the impression that some in Europe have completely lost their minds with the war in Ukraine. You, Mrs Kallas, want to smash Russia. The German CDU MP Kiesewetter wants Europe to work towards the surrender of Russia. And Nico Lange from the Munich Security Conference rejoices: Yes, Russia can be defeated. It almost seems as if some in Europe wanted to continue the campaign …

One-minute speeches on matters of political importance

Madam President, U.S. policy toward Cuba is inhumane. Cuba should be starved to achieve regime change. What 65 years of U.S. economic embargo have failed to achieve, President Trump now wants to achieve by cutting off Cuba's energy supplies completely. There has been a nationwide power outage on several occasions. This does not only mean that public life, traffic and production come t…

Tackling barriers to the single market for defence - Flagship European defence projects of common interest

Watch

Madam President, ladies and gentlemen! If the European Commission were serious about peace, it would do everything possible to end the wars in our neighbourhood diplomatically. But it has not launched a single initiative – not in Ukraine, not in Gaza, not in Iran, where the unprovoked war of aggression by the US and Israel is now raging in violation of international law. Instead, Ms von der Leyen …

Four years of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine and European contributions to a just peace and sustained security for Ukraine (debate)

Madam President, ladies and gentlemen! The horror in Ukraine is entering its fifth year – the war must finally stop! The EU has failed completely in Ukraine. There has not been a single peace initiative, and the 2022 Istanbul negotiations have failed in the West. And now Europe wants to prolong the war. It can't be! Territorial integrity and sovereignty of Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark: the need for a united EU response to US blackmail attempts (debate)

Watch

Mr President! Ladies and Gentlemen! President Trump wants Greenland. US imperialism stands worldwide for wars of aggression in violation of international law, and the EU Commission wants to resolve the crisis through an economic war with the US. That's laughable. No, Europe must no longer be the vassal and bridgehead of the United States. Clear steps are needed now. US troops stationed in Europe m…

The deepening democratic crisis in Georgia (debate)

Mr President! Ladies and Gentlemen! What would happen in Brussels if a group of protesters violently tried to storm the seat of the government? The EU wants to use EUR 210 billion of frozen Russian assets as collateral for a coercive loan to Ukraine so that the war can continue. Upcoming NATO summit on 24-26 June 2025 (debate)

This has nothing to do with defence, and certainly not with an independent European foreign and security policy. The tax money that the EU pumps into NATO serves only the US's global hegemony policy. Madam President, "Europe swears by the Leyen for a possible Great War" just headlined a large web portal. With 800 billion, the EU is to be made war-ready. But why, if even US intelligence say Russia isn't planning an attack on NATO states? If it is not defence, then it can only be about preparing for a war against Russia, which the coalition of the EU's war-willing people obviously wants. This ma…
