EU-US trade deal (joint debate)
Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, preserving Euro-Atlantic unity and strengthening coordination between Europe and the United States is essential today. This is not an easy challenge, but a necessary one. Supporting these agreements goes in this direction. They are complex agreements, not yet perfect, but they are a staple, a first signal to give certainty to companies and trade flows. In the media committee we saw who wants to exploit these agreements, who criticizes them, who judges them. I repeat that everything can be changed. As ECR, we are always open to dialogue and believe that these agreements are not an end but a beginning, a relaunch. In the coming months, with the stabilization of trade we will have more room to negotiate. The Italian government has made it clear when it disagrees: on tariffs, Greenland, Iran. Today, those who believe in transatlantic dialogue must support these agreements. That's why we want to move forward quickly, with pragmatism, diplomacy and listening to companies and workers.
