Urgent need for EU support to Ukraine against Russia’s escalation of its war of aggression (debate)

Watch

Madam President, High Representative, the European Union is Ukraine's largest supporter and, looking honestly at the numbers, almost the only supporter carrying this burden at scale. Almost every day, another tragedy is avoided by minutes or by metres: a passenger train at the Polish border, a drone crossing into European airspace – dozens, sometimes hundreds, of lives are at stake each time. If a…

Stop gold-plating, relieve SMEs: Member States must implement EU legislation without adding extra bureaucracy (topical debate)

Watch

Madam President, I'm sorry. Mr. Commissioner, I'm sorry. Mr. Secretary of State! Gold-plating has become the bane of our Union, including Poland. A year ago, Polish employers' organisations published a report describing 100 specific cases of overregulation. Overregulation that discourages starting a business, hiring people and making new investments. A review of national law is needed to remove su…

2025 Commission report on Ukraine (debate)

Madam President, I'm sorry. Difficult, most painful historical issues, such as the UPA's crime against Polish civilians, exist and must not be ignored. Without them, we will not go any further. The responsibility for the increase in tension lies on both sides. Both in the actions of President Zelensky, who fueled the nationalist narrative, and in the actions of President Navrocki. The great achiev…

Europe's response to reduced US military deployments in Europe, particularly at its Eastern flank in the light of the latest US decisions (debate)

Madam President, Madam Vice-President, colleagues, it is in the interest of Poland, Europe and also the United States itself that American troops remain in Europe and continue to train alongside us. It is also important to note that Poland has for years contributed financially to hosting American soldiers. Madam President, Madam Ombudsman, Commissioner, the annual report of the European Ombudsman for 2024 largely reflects the work of the previous mandate. Human trafficking and grave human rights violations linked to the recruitment of non-Russian nationals, in particular from Africa, for Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine

Mr President, Commissioner, Some time ago, President Zelenskyy heard at the white House the following accusation: 'You are gambling with World War III'. Let us be very clear, the man gambling with global stability is not the leader defending his country, Ukraine. The man responsible for escalating tensions is Vladimir Putin. It was Putin who chose the war. He started it, he fuels it every day, and…

Mr President, Madam Commissioner, colleagues, the attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure revealed the true scale of brutality of Putin's aggression. Mr President, Commissioner, colleagues, today we stand shoulder to shoulder with Lithuania. Poland does not need briefings to understand what is happening – because we are under the same attack.
