Need to enforce the Digital Services Act to protect democracy on social media platforms including against foreign interference and biased algorithms (debate)
Date: N/A | Language: PL Written StatementsThe Digital Services Act (DSA) was created to curb the spread of illegal content online and to strengthen users' rights online rather than restricting their expression. The DSA is not meant to be a censorship tool, but to protect fundamental rights, including the possibility of free debate. Unfortunately, we are seeing attempts to instrumentally use the DSA to suppress uncomfortable views. We need to protect freedom of speech, which does not end where mainstream views cease to dominate. Democracy is not when everyone thinks and says what the mainstream is spreading, but when everyone has the right to their own different views and to express them online. In Poland, the law implementing the DSA, which opens the way for preventive censorship, is particularly worrying. Some of the provisions of the Act are directly contrary to the requirement to respect the Charter of Fundamental Rights, to which the DSA expressly refers. It assumes blocking content without the participation of a court and on the basis of unclear criteria - a dangerous tool that can be used to eliminate critical voices, political opposition and suppress public debate. ‘No’ to censorship and ‘Yes’ to freedom of expression!

Madam President, I'm sorry. ChatGPT was asked how to destroy the young generation. The answer was terrifying: give them phones, unlimited access to the Internet, take their attention, make them dependent on screens. Convince them it's freedom. This is not, ladies and gentlemen, a hypothetical scenario. This is a reality in which millions of children live. This is what leads to cyberbullying, internet addiction, social media pressure. These are elements of this system. It is children who live under constant pressure that destroys their mental health and is the cause of the increasing number of suicides. You are discussing today, you are moving, you are giving your speeches, then you go out smiling into the corridor, and every day, every minute and every second, children experience violence that breaks their souls and hearts and chooses the final and terrifying path. If we do not strengthen Member States in the fight against cyberbullying, this road will lead nowhere. It's time to focus on educating as well. It is time to restore education in schools so that teaching is an opportunity to shape and strengthen the value system.

Questions
Madam President, Mr President, I would like to thank you very much. I am convinced that we share a common concern for the well-being of children. And I think that the situation of not having passed the regulation on the temporary protection of children in this Parliament hurts us equally. However, I would like to ask you if you do not think that we should make more effective use of the Digital Services Act to protect children.
Mr President, thank you very much. Ladies and Gentlemen, The report on the state of the rule of law clearly shows that this is a term tailored to the political expectations of the Commission and the parliamentary majority. When the conservative government was in power in Poland, every pretext was sought to hit it, despite the fact that it introduced solutions that had existed for years in other Member States. And what does Brussels do today when Tusk's government breaks records in systemic breaches of the rule of law? He's quiet out loud. Neither the Commission nor the Parliament refer to the illegal takeover of public media in Poland or the disregard of the President's prerogatives, the illegal takeover and the extreme politicisation of the prosecutor's office and the purges in the courts. The report calls for an even greater link between the conditionality mechanism and the disbursement of EU funds. This clearly proves that the rule of law in Brussels is nothing more than a tool to combat inconvenient for Brussels governments.

Thank you for accepting the question. I would like to say that I very much appreciate what you said, how to fight poverty, how to react. But I would like to ask you if you notice the impact of the economic situation created in the European Union due to the policy of "green disorder", which very strongly affects the living conditions of families in the European Union and significantly reduces the standard of living? And do you see how the Green Deal affects energy poverty as well as...
Thank you for accepting the question. You are clearly an open man, unlike the left, which is afraid of questions about the cause of poverty in the European Union. Since we are talking about poverty in the European Union, we must also talk about the fact that the European Union is fighting the problems it generates itself. The main reason for the increase in poverty, the scale of poverty, including energy poverty, is the implementation of crazy climate policy. It was at this plenary session that we voted to reduce emissions by 90%. Do you not think, therefore, that the Green Deal policy should be abandoned in order to improve the economic situation in the European Union and thus combat poverty?

Restoring control of migration: returns, visa policy and third-country cooperation (topical debate)

Speeches
Mr President, thank you very much. Ladies and Gentlemen, Over the years, EU migration policy has been driven by ideological madness, which has led to destabilisation of security. It was Merkel who opened the door to Europe, through which millions of illegal immigrants passed. The migration pact will not solve the problem of irregular migration. We definitely need an effective deportation system, based on efficient migration diplomacy. EU trade and visa cooperation with third countries must be conditional on their recognition of deportation decisions. To restore security in Europe, we need tight external borders, an effective fight against human smugglers, effective deportations and the opening of return hubs outside the Union. Without this, countries such as Germany will continue to use populist tricks and close their internal borders, de facto abolishing the Schengen area to the detriment of the whole of Europe.

Questions
I would therefore like to ask you if you consider it appropriate to seal the external borders of the European Union in order to stem the tide of illegal immigration? Do you also wonder whether the European Commission has financed NGOs that have taken in illegal immigrants? Because I know that when assessing the implementation of the budget by the European Commission, you took note of a report saying that NGOs were financed by the Commission in a non-transparent and vague way.

Questions
Madam President, I'm sorry. I would like to ask you if you share the view that the migration pact is the legalisation of illegal criminal activities related to the smuggling of people into the European Union and further evidence that the competences of the Member States are being appropriated here by the EU institutions, and that illegal migration is de facto a Trojan horse that is being introduced into the European Union in order to disrupt our security and deepen the economic crisis?
Combating violence against women and girls, including the exploitation of motherhood (debate)

Questions
I would like to ask you if you do not think that the left stigmatizes right-wing women, pointing out that it is men with conservative views who are the main perpetrators of violence? That this is a form of violence, especially against women on the left and women on the right? And the second case of surrogacy. What is your opinion on surrogacy? Do you think surrogacy is a violation of children's rights?

Questions
Thank you very much for talking about the violence against women that affects all of us online. This is indeed a very important problem and I thank you for raising it. But I would also like to ask you what your position is with regard to surrogacy. Do you share the view that women living in difficult social conditions are doing just that. Nevertheless, it is an act that de facto boils down to exploiting their body, and they become de facto incubators, giving up their child, and it is a modern form of exploitation.

Speeches
Madam President, I'm sorry. Ladies and Gentlemen, One form of exploitation of women is surrogacy. It is a system based on separation, loss and profit. It is an industry that trades women's bodies and children's lives, a modern form of slavery dressed in the language of altruism and solidarity. Surogation is an industry, it is violence, and it is an exploitation incompatible with human rights. We can no longer pretend that we do not see human trafficking flourishing right next to us in Georgia, in Ukraine, on the Internet. Europe must adopt a common position. Man is not a commodity. A woman is not an incubator, and a child should never be the subject of a transaction. I am amazed at the position of the left. Just a moment ago, a gentleman on the left said that the surrogate was happy because she gave up a child, a child she carried under her heart. This can only be said by a guy who does not understand women and has no idea what motherhood is. Surogation is the economic exploitation of poor women who make this dramatic decision in order to make a profit. There's no agreement to that.
Madam President, I'm sorry. A year ago, the Commission promised a reset of the Green Deal. You promised dialogue with the farmers. Unfortunately, these were empty promises, and the situation of farmers today is dramatic. The Polish countryside is on the verge of catastrophe. Farmers give away crops for free so that they do not rot in the field, and cry because they love Polish land, because they want to produce safe, high-quality food. They are crying, Commissioner, because they will not have the money to repay the loans. In this dramatic situation, the European Commission is proposing an agreement with the Mercosur countries and Ukraine. If this happens, you will be the gravediggers of European agriculture. You will destroy not only short supply chains, but above all food security. That is why today from this place I call all Polish patriots to the march of the protest in Warsaw on Saturday. Let us meet, protest against the Green Deal, against the Mercosur agreement and against illegal immigration, because all these issues are destroying the European Union.
Intergenerational fairness in Europe on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons (debate)

Speeches
Madam President, I'm sorry. Mr. Commissioner, I'm sorry. Europe is at a crossroads today. Our societies are ageing at a rate they never knew before. Fewer and fewer children, more and more older people, and pension and care systems are simply not keeping up. By mid-century, one in three EU citizens will be over 65. If we want true intergenerational justice, we must support families and create conditions for the professional activity of seniors. We need generation-friendly jobs, the development of intergenerational work teams and, above all, the fight against age discrimination. We notice it in all areas of our lives, not only when applying for a job, but also when applying for modern training. Discrimination against older people also means not seeing their problems, disregarding their needs, believing that the needs of older people are less important than the needs of young people. We urgently need a dignified senior policy.
Role of EU policies in shaping the European Sport Model (debate)

Mr President, thank you very much. I would like to raise taboos in this debate. Biological athletes have to compete with people who have undergone a gender change, although the physiological advantage in strength and body structure is obvious. It destroys the meaning of the female category. It kills women's sports. So how can we talk about equal opportunities and fair competition when, according to a UN report from 2024, more than 600 female athletes have lost 890 medals in 29 different sports due to competition with transmen only in recent years? I missed this point in the report. I therefore want to make it clear that I support the call of the UN Special Rapporteur on violence against women, who calls on states to stop allowing men who identify as women to compete with women and girls. Sport is a competition that must be based on equal and equal principles. Let LGBT ideology not destroy women's sport.

Mr President, thank you very much. Merkel's migration crisis is destroying Europe's identity. It leads to the Islamization of Europe. We see the effects today in Western Europe: rapes, robberies, thefts, gang wars. Illegal migration is also part of the hybrid war that Putin and Lukashenko are waging with the EU. We see this especially on the Polish-Belarusian border, where left-wing activists, supporting illegal migrants, have de facto become useful idiots of Putin. There are no coincidences. These are planned and coordinated actions. Today we are dealing with a direct attack on Poland. Putin knows that Europe is powerless because the Commission is headed by von der Leyen, who was Germany's worst defence minister. So what should be done? Forced deportations must be introduced immediately, the Union's external borders sealed and the immigration pact thrown into the trash. Finally, I will say openly: Get your hands off Poland! Poland will not pay for the migration mistakes of Berlin and Brussels.
Amending Regulation (EU) 2023/956 as regards simplifying and strengthening the carbon border adjustment mechanism (A10-0085/2025 - Antonio Decaro)

Madam President, I'm sorry. I voted in favour of a regulation simplifying and strengthening the CBAM mechanism. I think this is a step in the right direction. The simplifications proposed are a response to real problems related to the implementation of the CBAM. The CBAM aims to protect EU industry with restrictive climate policies by imposing tariffs on imports of goods such as: steel, cement, aluminium, hydrogen or fertilisers from third countries. Unfortunately, the original rules turned out to be too complicated. They even included micro-enterprises importing small quantities of goods. Therefore, I consider the proposal to exclude from the system so-called occasional importers, i.e. those who import less than 50 tonnes per year into the Union, to be a reasonable and proportionate solution, reducing bureaucratic burdens for SMEs and not distorting EU competition. However, the CBAM mechanism still needs to be fine-tuned. Key challenges are to ensure the reliability of data on the decarbonisation of products from third countries and to prevent circumvention. Moreover, CBAM cannot be the only answer to industry's problems. Complementary actions are needed, including a return to free allowances and further support for companies affected by high energy costs.
