Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism: extension of its scope to downstream goods and anti-circumvention measures - Establishing the Temporary Decarbonisation Fund - Market stability reserve for the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS): ceasing the invalidation of allowances
Madam President, Steel plants in the EU are subject to horrendous CO2-emissions from the emissions trading system. That's why European steel became more expensive and preferred to be imported. The Commission's revenues from this ETS system alone amounted to more than EUR 43 billion last year. Instead of abolishing ETS because it endangers our own steel plants and the rest of the industry, the Comm…

Plants obtained by certain new genomic techniques and their food and feed (A10-0175/2026 - Jessica Polfjärd) (vote)
Mr President, honourable Members! Today it is not about progress or stagnation. Today it is about trust, freedom of choice and control over our seeds, our food and our agriculture. We are voting on the deregulation of so-called NGT1 plants. These plants are genetically modified using new genomic techniques and can end up in food, feed and our fields. We are told that this could theoretically also …

Reviewing the ETS system to support European competitiveness (topical debate)
Madam President, First, a sensational message: In April, the doomsday was personally cancelled by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He said that the previous extreme scenario 8.5 with a temperature increase of up to six degrees is implausible. So it was nonsense. But that's exactly what you've been building your climate panic and CO for 15 years2-Taxation system ETS open. Last …

Cali fund – follow up from the COP16 UN Convention on Biodiversity (debate)
Madam President, ladies and gentlemen, Biodiversity is not a side issue. It is the basis of our existence for food, clean water and economic value creation. This is also evident in the genetic resources that are at stake here in this Cali fund today. In the genetic information of plants, animals, microorganisms lie active substances, genes and biological processes, which are of great value for res…

Implementation of the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive (UWWTD) and risks to the security of supply of medicines (debate)
Madam President, ladies and gentlemen! This new policy has dangerous side effects. It threatens our supply of cheap medicines. The aim is to install a fourth purification stage in wastewater treatment plants in order to remove drug residues from the wastewater. Of course, we want clean wastewater, but now pharmaceutical and cosmetics manufacturers should pay at least 80 percent of the cost of …

Restoring control of migration: returns, visa policy and third-country cooperation (topical debate)
Mr President! The title of this debate is ‘Re-establishing control over migration’. This title alone is a declaration of bankruptcy of the EU migration policy. The loss of control is no coincidence. It is the result of an EU external border that is still as brittle as a Swiss cheese, unsuitable laws and a lack of enforcement. In 2024 alone, around 919 000 illegally staying persons were identified …

UN Climate Change Conference 2025 in Belém, Brazil (COP30) (debate)
Madam President, The climate hoax has long since been exposed by insider reports since 2007. Nevertheless, the EU has again drafted a resolution for the World Climate Conference in Brazil. It is a slap in the face of our citizens. Under the pretext of climate protection, a gigantic transfer of funds is to be decided: from European citizens to developing countries, from developing countries to glob…

First anniversary of the DANA floods in Spain: improving EU preparedness (debate)
Mr President! A year ago, an incredible heavy rain occurred in Valencia in Spain. In 24 hours, an incredible 300 liters per square meter fell. 230 people died. This heavy rain is dismissed as a weather phenomenon, and climate change due to CO2Emissions are blamed. This is not only wrong, but it also hides important facts: Since 1980, neighboring Morocco has been producing artificial rain with silv…

Public health risks in a Europe affected by global warming: tackling the spread of mosquito- and tick-borne diseases (vote)
Madam President, Will the European Union roll out another red carpet to the pharmaceutical industry? Today we are talking about public health risks in a Europe affected by global warming. This summer there was an urgent announcement in the Tagesschau in Germany: There are more and more local outbreaks of tropical diseases transmitted by mosquitoes in southern Europe, such as dengue fever, Zika, ma…

Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism: simplification and strengthening (debate)
Madam President, The CO2-Border adjustment mechanism to be simplified. However, the new proposal would still provide 99 percent of our imports of iron, steel, cement, fertilizers and aluminum with unsustainably high CO2 emissions.2Charges are charged. And for what? For a completely harmless CO2-Noble gas and for emissions that have also been generated abroad. How crazy is that? It's not about pean…

Presentation of the Chemicals Package (debate)
Madam President, Today we are discussing the EU Commission's new chemicals package. The aim is to simplify the rules and avoid unnecessary burdens for companies – why only now and not right from the start? BASF and Dow are cutting jobs in Germany. These simplifications come too late, as Mr Ehler has just pointed out. A whole industry is migrating, and you've caused this! Simplifications are not co…

Protecting bees: advancing the EU's New Deal for Pollinators (debate)
Madam President, The new deal for pollinators is the next centralist insanity from Brussels. The same commission, which overwhelms farmers with conditions, is destroying insects with its own energy transition. Each wind turbine kills 40 million insects every year, and we have 280 000 wind turbines in the European Union. Our wind turbines kill 9 trillion insects every year. Before Brussels adopts n…

Clean Industrial Deal (debate)
Mr President! I've been in the European Parliament for a year now and I'm witnessing Ursula von der Leyen ruining Europe with a Green DealIt's not green at all, it's deep red. This policy is not based on science, but on played – yes, played – oekoreligious fanaticism. It destroys our economy, our agriculture, our energy supply and even our environment, and ultimately our livelihood. Sooner or late…

Combating the sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of children and child sexual abuse material and replacing Council Framework Decision 2004/68/JHA (recast) (debate)
Madam President, In the EU, a picture or video of child sexual abuse is published online every second. For one of our children, every single admission means lifelong stress, injury and often trauma. It is right to now also legally record and criminalise AI-generated abuse images and videos and the initiation of contact with children via the Internet. We as ESN explicitly support this. But what the…

Amending Regulation (EU) 2023/956 as regards simplifying and strengthening the carbon border adjustment mechanism (debate)
Mr President! The Green Deal It has become a gigantic program of economic destruction. In 2022, European companies had to pay 39 billion euros for emission allowances alone. In Germany, more than 120,000 industrial jobs were lost last year. Imports from other EU countries are now much cheaper and make our producers create. And now CBAM – the CO2-Border-balancing – putting this back in order? From …

The European Water Resilience Strategy (debate)
Madam President, Attention, dear citizens! Now, besides the Green Deal also another Blue Deal arise. It should start with the European Water Resilience Strategy. The climate is to blame again. And to help you handle water more efficiently, it encourages you to increase the price of …

Energy-intensive industries (debate)
Madam President, Germany is losing its energy-intensive industry – and thus jobs, innovation and the future. More than half of the large companies are thinking about emigrating. And this is not a German problem – it is a European disaster …

Targeted attacks against Christians in the Democratic Republic of the Congo – defending religious freedom and security (debate)
Madam President, On February 12, a horrific massacre took place in the Congo: 70 Christians – men, women and children – were abducted by the Islamist ADF militia and murdered in a barbaric manner with machetes and hammers. This Islamist brutality in the Congo is not an isolated case. I would like to thank the Commission for making this terror a topic here and for finally standing up for religious …

US withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement, the World Health Organisation and the suspension of US development and humanitarian aid (debate)
Madam President, Donald Trump has withdrawn from the Paris climate agreement. That's why we should all celebrate him today. He cleans up with the most powerful climate fairy tale, with which all state raids and restrictions on freedom are justified. The climate fairy tale tells that people are acutely endangered by a rise in global temperature of more than 1.5 degrees. This happened last year and …

Heat record year 2024 - the need for climate action to fight global warming (debate)
Mr President! Yes, we had a heat record in 2024. The global average temperature was 1.6 degrees above pre-industrial levels. Well, what? A warmer climate has always been a blessing for humans. Only technical inventions make it possible for us to survive in colder regions. Cold is the killer for people, not the heat that is at stake today. Due to the current severe cold, the German authorities have…

Restoring the EU’s competitive edge – the need for an impact assessment on the Green Deal policies (topical debate)
Mr President! If you want to completely change a house, you tear down the old one and build a whole new one. The House of Europe has been deliberately demolished for years. The Green Deal is the demolition ball. The peoples of the European Union are at the mercy of this destruction without protection. We must finally grasp the agenda behind it and immediately end this generally dangerous policy ba…
