Attempts by the ruling party Georgian Dream to ban opposition parties in Georgia

Watch

Mr President, thank you very much. Ladies and Gentlemen, We must make it clear: Georgian Dream is really a Russian dream. This is a Soviet reconstruction group. Ivanishvili, Kopachidze, Papuashvili – they reconstruct Soviet times. It is as if they wanted to put the whole of Georgia in a vehicle and as in the film Back to the Past to move Georgia to the 1970s and 1960s. Opposition arrested. Pro-Wes…

Urgent need for EU support to Ukraine against Russia’s escalation of its war of aggression (debate)

Watch

Madam President, I'm sorry. When I listen to this discussion today and hear the pro-Russian voices of the extreme right, the extreme left, it reminds me of the 1920s and the term ‘Lenin’s useful idiots’. Now we are dealing with useful idiots of Putin, who meet together - as in this horseshoe theory - somewhere near Moscow. But we know what you're talking about. You want to break the unity of the E…

Madam President, I'm sorry. This debate is very important because Pegasus is not an ordinary tool. This is a system that strikes at the very heart of democracy, at European values, at the fundamental freedoms of citizens. This debate takes on particular significance at a time when we learn that MEP Kouloglou from Greece was being attacked by Pegasus at a time when he was investigating, in the fram…

Mr President, thank you very much. The strength of the community has always consisted in openness, from which great benefits have flowed, both for the old countries and for the new ones. The deepening democratic crisis in Georgia (debate)

Mr President, thank you very much. The High Parliament! Georgia must serve as an example for all of us – an example of what ends the destruction of values. Now, two hours ago, the Georgian parliament, dominated by Russian puppets, passed an electoral law that stripped thousands of Georgian patriots living abroad of their right to vote. This is an example of the direction in which the entire inform…

Madam President, I'm sorry. The High Parliament! What we see today is the best example of the theory of Jean-Pierre Faye, who as a French philosopher constructed the horseshoe theory. The extreme right, the extreme left, is on Putin's side today. And history repeats itself, because you are on Putin's side today, just as the extremes were on Lenin's and Stalin's side in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. …
