Electrification Action Plan (debate)
Madam President, ladies and gentlemen, $3,000 per second: That's what fossil fuel companies earn. That's what the seven largest fossil companies in the world have earned. $3,000 per second: Let us remember this figure, when they tell us that electrifying is expensive, when they tell us that electrifying is not convenient. While our people, our population pay stellar bills, they earn $3,000 per second. While we don't know how to fill up the car, they earn $3,000 per second. And in the meantime, people in this House are telling us that electrifying is a nightmare, that electrifying is not convenient. Maybe because it's okay that there are those who earn and make extra profits like that and in the meantime people pay very high bills. Our role in Parliament is to make electricity affordable. This means lowering taxes on electricity, which is not possible to be higher than those on gas. This means more renewables. This means more efficient networks. This means working for people and not for the pockets of fossil companies.
