Rail transport safety in the EU – lessons learnt from the Adamuz accident and three years after the Tempi tragedy (debate)
Madam President, the Commission representative knows that this is not just another accident, this is a case of negligence. Forty-six dead and two hundred wounded in Adamuz add to a long list of victims of the irresponsibility of the government of Pedro Sánchez. Spain was the country most affected by COVID-19. In Spain, the lack of infrastructure caused the catastrophe of Valencia in the Poyo ravine. Damage victims are still abandoned. Now Pedro Sanchez's government is trying to get out of its responsibilities again. The excuses of Minister Puente, the minister of the industry, are not credible. Up to eight warnings of danger had been recorded in that section. The ultimate cause is again corruption, contracts that are not controlled, the chain of subcontracting. Day yes, day also corruption arises in this Government. The technical document of the welding, which is at the origin of the accident, was modified after the accident and the railway authority withdrew evidence from the scene of the tragedy before its judicial control. The minister, of course, should have resigned, but that demands a degree of decency that this government is not able to show. He could not show it even at the lay funeral, which did not take place, because the victims opposed it. The disassociation of this government with the citizenry is only comparable to the dimensions of the escalation of corruption. Sanchez's legacy is robbery, betrayal and lies.

International Day of Education, fighting inequalities in access to education (debate)
Madam President, you are out of the question. Our concept of civilization demands equal access to compulsory public education. As for skills, if education in humanistic disciplines is not encouraged, we will create a perfect individual-gear: useful, but without further purpose or transcendence. He will be vulnerable to opinions stronger than those he is able to defend and will end up thinking as he is told to do. This shortcoming cannot and should not be compensated for by substitutes for the transmission of knowledge. We know that in many classrooms only ideology is taught. It is no coincidence that the obsession of the left has always been to control education. I suppose you are familiar with Althusser’s work, right? Ideology and ideological apparatuses of the State. Logically, education is the main one. Today we see the results of a certain interpretation of that: Unauthorized teachers and indoctrinated young people who do not know their own history, which is very convenient for those who want to undo existing nations.
Spain’s large-scale regularisation policy and its impact on the Schengen Area and EU migration policy (debate)
Mr President, you have said - and I think it is very good - that no personal attacks or insults should be directed at other Members of the European Parliament. I wish you had noticed that we have been called racists here, pointing us out to the VOX delegation. I wish he'd said something. Or do you have an ideological bias? I would like to ask you to call attention to the Member who has called us racists.

Outcome of the UN Climate Change Conference - Belém (COP30) (debate)
Mr President, no one here denies climate change; climate emergency is denied. Climate catastrophism is a scam. Yours is not science, it's superstition. It's Greta Thunberg sentimental propaganda. Consensus is contrary to science. Theirs is an ideology, a political strategy. Even Bill Gates, one of the great funders of this substitution religion, has gotten out of the car. Man cannot change the climate of the earth, perhaps to a negligible extent and at a very high price. Destroying the primary sector and industry, for the sake of an impossible goal, makes no more sense than the profit of elites. We keep repeating mantras while the automotive industry suffers a brutal crisis because of a huge social engineering operation. Science makes predictions and they are fulfilled. This supposed science never makes any predictions. Germany, Europe's industrial engine and promoter of this ideology, has entered a self-provoked crisis. That's why COP30 hasn't agreed on any deadlines to end fossil fuels. Thankfully.

Institutional consequences of the EU enlargement negotiations (debate)
Mr President, we are not so much concerned about enlargement as about the gradual erasure of sovereignty with which they want to carry it out. First they tell us they want more Europe. Then we found that means less sovereignty, less voice and less freedom for nations. They call it efficiency, but it's actually fear. You are afraid of governments that do not accept your agenda, afraid of patriotic parties that grow across Europe and return power to nations. They make up this blow to the independence of nations – the sole basis of sovereignty, the sole basis of legitimacy – by trying new forums such as the Agora Europe, a kind of participatory theatre where citizens can speak. How many will meet? Three hundred million? Four hundred million? They seem to have forgotten that the real agora already exists: They're called elections. There are advantages of unanimity that I would like to highlight: unanimity prevents a circumstantial majority from imposing its will on everyone. It is the ultimate guarantee of respect for our sovereignty.
EU strategy with regard to Iran’s nuclear threat and the implementation of EU sanctions resulting from the snapback mechanism (debate)
Madam President, the Islamist theocratic regime in Iran is the main destabilising agent in the Middle East and the biggest promoter of international terrorism. A hitman of his attacked the life of Don Alejo Vidal-Quadras, who was president of this House for many years; He's alive by miracle. The aggressive foreign policy of the ayatollahs has been attacking peace and security for years through subsidiary agents such as Hamas, Hezbollah or the Houthis. It has ties to Russia, to the narco-socialist Caribbean tyrannies... Their razor-sharp claws reach Europe, where they sponsor attacks, Islamism and even far-left groups. It does not respect the most basic rights of its own people, relying particularly heavily on dissident women and homosexuals. There are four – four! – executions a day. It should find nothing in Europe but rejection. Enough appeasement! We must neutralize the threat that an Iran with military nuclear capability would pose to the world. It seems untrue that the previous Commission covered its sinister plans with the civil use scam. Didn't Mr. Borrell notice? Was the Commission not aware of the levels of uranium enrichment? The Iranian resistance has been exposing this threat for thirty-four years. Theirs were the revelations of secret nuclear facilities at Natanz and Arak in 2002. His projects include erasing Israel from the map; They have been happily frustrated, but beware, let's stand firm or it will end up being a matter of fait accompli.
Devastating wildfires in Southern Europe: the need to strengthen EU aid to restore the massive loss of forests and enhancing EU preparedness (debate)
Mr President, I believe that at least three factors are mixed in this matter. On the one hand, there is the negligence of those who, from their political management positions, should have done more than they have done. In that sense, my political background has presented the appropriate criminal legal actions for the responsibilities that could arise. On the other hand, we have a rather inexplicable multiplication of incendiaries. That is, in the Spanish case, most of the fires have been provoked. More than 100 people have been arrested for setting fires. While the Government, in its public appearances, spoke of climate change, it was not stopping fire provocateurs. Thirdly, I believe that there is a certain arrogance on the part of urban environmentalism that believes that it has better solutions than those that, throughout life, have been applied by those who from the countryside have proceeded to protect themselves from the fires by creating firewalls, clearing or cleaning the mountains, which they can now do with so many bureaucratic difficulties that, in fact, they cannot do it. So let's learn from them.
Outcome of the Conference on the Financing for Development in Seville (debate)
Mr President, this House refused by a majority to be present as such at the Seville Conference. In what capacity did the Members who presented themselves there attend?, in what capacity?, who did they represent?, will they not have arrogated to themselves a representation that they lack? On the other hand, one begins to get a little fed up with the moral superiority of a left whose model of development aid is to finance a network of NGOs, as has been demonstrated when, in the United States, when withdrawing funding from USAID, it has been seen where the money was going. First, it went to NGOs that distributed it in the way that seemed convenient to them and were subject to ideological positions, gender ideology, climate catastrophism, and so on. Development aid is a model that, as has been proposed so far, has proved to be flawed. What countries are developing is the conditions for development. I am quoting Angus Deaton, who is the world's leading specialist in this field, 2015 Nobel Prize in Economics. The conditions for development are solid institutions, with good governance and conditions of competitiveness, with conditions favourable to business and innovation. When these circumstances occur, when governments are reliable, independent judges, contracts are fulfilled, records are reliable... when all that happens, then development comes by itself.
Lessons from Budapest Pride: the urgent need for an EU wide anti-discrimination law and defending fundamental rights against right-wing attacks (topical debate)
Madam President, I see this as a perfect occasion for some of you to feel like heroes: armchair heroes, tin soldiers heroes. Because everything they are accusing – in this case Hungary – is radically false. Where is the discrimination of people on the basis of their sexual orientation? Here there is a decision by a sovereign state on certain issues of public order when organizing demonstrations; laws that, by the way, exist in many countries with respect to what they consider to be matters of public order. Let's talk about the issue of alleged discrimination. It is you who discriminate and objectify homosexuals, people because of their sexual orientation or sexual identity, uniting them in a collective that is supposed to impose a certain ideology on them. That is, let's say that 10% of the population is homosexual? Some studies claim that that would be more or less the quota. What's going on? That 10% have the same ideology? Are they wakes Like you? Do you think that the defense of individual rights involves organizing a Pride float or Pride demonstrations? No, gentlemen, it goes through something that had already been obtained, which is respect, tolerance and the rights of homosexuals...
Safeguarding the rule of law in Spain, ensuring an independent and autonomous prosecutor's office to fight crime and corruption (debate)
Mr President, Mr Zoido, who preceded me in speaking, was Minister of the Interior, a good Minister of the Interior, when the coup d'état of Mr Sánchez's current partners took place. With them he came to power. With them he won the motion of censure. With them he has agreed an election that he lost in order to continue governing. What is in Spain is indescribable. The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party is not what you believe, if any of you have spoken in good faith: It is a plot of corruption, it is pure corruption, it is cronyism, nepotism, personal interests, and moreover, every time a judge dares to act against them or investigate them, what they do is move on to the personal attack against that judge. They have placed at the head of the Constitutional Court a figure who is dedicated to entering into the substance of cases that have been tried by the Supreme Court, which are final and cannot be re-judged. It is, I insist, indescribable. If you believe that Europe should not be concerned about such a situation, we do not have the same idea of Europe.
Stopping the genocide in Gaza: time for EU sanctions (topical debate)
Madam President, since you are not ashamed, let me be ashamed for you, Madam, for what I have just heard. You come here with a debate title that is a request for principle - that is the name of the logical fallacy: stop the genocide in Gaza. It's like I'm saying, We are going to discuss stopping drug trafficking in your political group. It would be a lie, just as genocide is a lie. What genocide is it that has caused the Palestinian population in Gaza to multiply tenfold since 1950? What genocide is it that has caused the Palestinian population in the West Bank to multiply sixfold since 1967? The accusation of genocide against the people who have suffered the genocide that has stained, weighed down and condemned modernity in the West is an infamy and, in addition, it is pure anti-Semitism, according to the very definition of anti-Semitism of the governmental organization called the International Alliance for the Remembrance of the Holocaust. (He spoke a few words in an unofficial language of the Union.).
Resilience and the need to improve the interconnection of energy grid infrastructure in the EU: the first lessons from the blackout in the Iberian Peninsula (debate)
Madam President, we have already warned of the risks of shutting down nuclear plants, of basing our energy system on renewables, of becoming dependent on the outside. In the end, the facts, sadly, have proved us right, and the power grid has collapsed, causing an unprecedented blackout of fatal consequences - ten dead, so far - and embarrassing. This has happened only days after the head of Red Eléctrica de España – a person without technical training placed by you – boasted. Of what? The impossibility of a major blackout in Spain. Faced with this panorama, Sánchez's socialist government hides information and fabricates some convincing lie that has not yet occurred to him. This calamitous situation is the result of years of application of political agendas moved by ideological fanaticism that do not attend to reality. We already see the fruits of the Green Deal. In the end, as always, it is the citizens who pay the bill for their experiments, lord sorcerer's apprentices.
EU Preparedness Union Strategy (debate)
Madam President, Commissioner, you, who are the aristocracy of the bureaucracy, urge us to be prepared for catastrophes of all kinds. We just heard it. The apocalypse is approaching in the form of weather disasters, war, fake news, foreign interference. It seems to me that they intend to generate a permanent state of fear. So we will thank you to do with us what you want. And what you want is to make normal the exceptional, the exception, in order to have us subdued and vulnerable to power. The most scandalous thing is that these dangers they now alert to are the consequence of their own policies, whether by conscious action or calculated omission: it is not climate disasters, it is the Green Deal; it is not war, it is the lack of action and investment for years in defense policies; It's not foreign interference or fake news, it's you trying to control the story yourself, it's you taking interference to the extreme, nullifying democratic elections, taking uncomfortable candidates off the track. If it were true that you have to prepare for any crisis, it would be your fault.
Cutting red tape and simplifying business in the EU: the first Omnibus proposals (debate)
Madam President, during the last legislature this House insisted and insisted on the issue of the Green Deal, which was going to solve all our problems. A few months after the end of that legislature, you have to tacitly, implicitly disdain yourself. That ideological agenda proved to be a drag on our businesses and European competitiveness. Even so, this omnibus package will not mean the elimination of those obstacles. What is being done is to postpone the problems. Let no one think that the consensus of popular and socialists will retract the opportunity to carry all these nonsense to the end. What European companies need is more freedom, less taxation, less bureaucracy, less regulation and an end to legislative hyperinflation. This is the only way to grow and generate employment. If Europe intends to take the place in the world it deserves, the first thing, the most advisable thing, is that European entrepreneurs do not find themselves in the European Union with The Castle Kafka, which is the great nightmare of modernity, which takes the form of absurd, infinite and discouraging bureaucracy, like this house.
Honouring the memory of Ján Kuciak and Martina Kušnírová: advancing media freedom, strengthening the rule of law, and protecting journalists across the EU (debate)
Madam President, I want to strongly condemn the murder of Ján Kuciak and Martina Kušnírová, as well as that of all journalists who have paid for their profession with their lives. It seems untrue that this happens in a Member State of the Union, that freedom of the press, and even freedom of expression, are in question in Europe. I also want to denounce the fact that the mafias, the cartels, the terrorist groups, the hitmen, who are the material executors of these crimes, develop their sinister activity on our continent. Law enforcement also pays a very high price – often with their own lives – in the fight against them. By the way, Ján and Martina's is unfortunately not an isolated case: Just this week, the Maltese judiciary, under pressure from its government, released the mastermind of the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana. I hope we don't forget about her either.
US withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement, the World Health Organisation and the suspension of US development and humanitarian aid (debate)
Madam President, in a minute I do not have time to argue, but I do have time to advise you to read a book of the 2015 Nobel Prize in Economics, Angus Deaton: The Great Escape. Its third part is dedicated to development aid and is a clear demonstration, from someone who does not come from the ranks of the right, that development aid has proven counterproductive. The way forward is to achieve development conditions in the countries we are trying to help. And once the conditions of development are established, development occurs on its own. Therefore, between this and what has been known about the fate of USAID funds, I must congratulate President Trump for withdrawing those funds supposedly for development and also for withdrawing from the Paris Agreement and the World Health Organization.
Boosting vocational education and training in times of labour market transitions (debate)
Madam President, activity in all sectors is nourished by knowledge, the most important asset in the contemporary world. The contribution of this key asset has been to a very large extent in charge of vocational education and training. We have suffered a gradual abandonment of this asset that is highly correlated with the generation of wealth, with competitiveness, with the increase in productivity; instead, hyperinflation of universities has been promoted. The error is going to pay dearly in the new technological paradigm, it has been preferred to prioritize indoctrination. This is the representative of a country with the highest youth unemployment in Europe: Our Spanish youth were deceived by painting vocational training as something of a second category. 2023 was the European Year of Skills. However, there has been no serious attempt to revitalize this critical area, without which companies and organizations lack adequate human resources to meet their varied and specific needs.
Situation in Venezuela following the usurpation of the presidency on 10 January 2025 (debate)
Mr. President, on July 28, the Venezuelan people voted en masse for Edmundo González Urrutia as their legitimate president, hoping to end Maduro's tyranny once and for all. Right now, the situation in Venezuela leaves no room for doubt as to the way forward in the European Union: We have a democratically elected president and a tyrant who has staged a coup to perpetuate himself in power. Given such a clear situation, how is it possible that the High Representative of the Union and all the Member States did not immediately and unanimously recognise Edmundo González as the legitimate President of Venezuela? The co-religionist of some deputies who sit here, Mr. Monedero, has given a speech on humanism in the largest torture center in America, the sinister El Helicoide, in Caracas. Is there greater vileness? The left leaves democratic values aside when it comes to defending dictators of its ideology, whether from Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua or any other enemy of freedom such as Russia or Iran. How many more dead? How many more retaliators? How many political prisoners and exiles – seven million of us already in exile – does it take for this Parliament to recognise the legitimate president of Venezuela? How can the European Union play equidistance and at the same time draw breasts from its own principles?
Geopolitical and economic implications for the transatlantic relations under the new Trump administration (debate)
Mr. President, Trump inaugurates his second term with the world left again predicting the end of the world. However, all those jeremiadas are no longer credible, since this man has already ruled four years in a mandate that has been the most pacifist in US foreign policy in recent decades. Trump himself, during his investiture speech, has reiterated that he will continue in an external line based on peace and non-interference. Trump's second victory is once again a paradigm shift on the world stage. Moreover, Trump has already achieved – before his inauguration – a ceasefire in Gaza and that Putin and Zelenskyy are at least open to negotiating a peace for Ukraine. These achievements leave in evidence a left whose arguments we already know and force us to choose which course to take: Either we take advantage of everything that unites us with our ally on the other side of the Atlantic, or we lock ourselves in and lament, while the United States and China leave us behind definitively. Europe is not in a position to compete with the two great powers and we have not taken advantage of these last years to put ourselves in that position. On the contrary, we have persevered in policies that weigh us down and make us less competitive.
Need to enforce the Digital Services Act to protect democracy on social media platforms including against foreign interference and biased algorithms (debate)
Madam President, let me see if I understand: if the tycoon, the billionaire, turns out to favor ideology surprised Putting money into the media, into educational programs, into NGOs, then he's a philanthropist, like George Soros and like Bill Gates. But if it turns out that what he does is buy and open a network to freedom - which means that instead of having verifiers he self-organizes, which is the way he ends up knowing the truth about the issues - then he will be called a Nazi. You want to give lessons on what disinformation is and several have said here that Mr Musk made a Nazi salute yesterday. The verifiers are unfortunately biased. Companies that have dedicated themselves to verifying what was true or false - that you have to be arrogant and you have to consider citizens as minors - are all skewed to the left. With this we are winning in freedom. Indeed, what you are proposing here is a return to censorship.
