Madam President, ladies and gentlemen, Biodiversity is not a side issue. It is the basis of our existence for food, clean water and economic value creation. This is also evident in the genetic resources that are at stake here in this Cali fund today. In the genetic information of plants, animals, microorganisms lie active substances, genes and biological processes, which are of great value for research and industry. This benefits the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology, agro-science, the chemical industry and also the cosmetics sector – yes, that is correct. Subsequently, it was discussed how these benefits from the use of genetic resources can be distributed. This led to the creation of the Cali Fund, which is now at stake and is designed to encourage companies around the world to contribute when they make economic use of digital genetic data, known as DSIs. But this is where a fundamental problem emerges: The fund is intended as a global instrument and therefore requires extensive bureaucracy, transparency and control so that it can be deposited with pleasure. All this is missing. This Cali fund does not enjoy comprehensive trust. It is a new tax on natural resources. According to reports, the first and for a long time only deposit was just $1 000. This is more than just a symbolic false start. In principle, this fund will slow down our research and lead to distortions of competition for the European Union. And the most important thing is: Europe wants to be a leader again. But we reject a one-sided burden. Either all beneficiaries have to pay into the companies or none. Europe needs the ESN and Germany needs the AfD.

The aim is to install a fourth purification stage in wastewater treatment plants in order to remove drug residues from the wastewater. Of course, we want clean wastewater, but now pharmaceutical and cosmetics manufacturers should pay at least 80 percent of the cost of the fourth stage of cleaning. Payment is not made on a flat-rate basis, but on the basis of the quantity and dangerousness of the substances, and in the end our patients have to bear the consequences, because cheap and indispensable drugs, so-called generics, are pushed out of the market by these costs. This is Brussels on a blind flight again: announce big, think badly and let others pay. These rules must be suspended for human medicines in order to protect our sick people from a dangerous shortage of medicines. Europe needs clean water, but also clean legislation. Mr President! The title of this debate is ‘Re-establishing control over migration’. This title alone is a declaration of bankruptcy of the EU migration policy. The loss of control is no coincidence. It is the result of an EU external border that is still as brittle as a Swiss cheese, unsuitable laws and a lack of enforcement. In 2024 alone, around 919 000 illegally staying persons were identified in the European Union, with a much higher level of obscurity. And what happens? At 80%, nothing happens. This is followed by tolerations, endless proceedings and lawsuits – and submersion. This is a failure all along the line, and the local population is paying the bill: overburdened communities, housing shortages, overwhelmed schools, rising costs, growing crime. This can no longer be expected of our citizens. Our demands are therefore clear: Finally, consistently protect external borders, asylum procedures outside the EU, responsibilities back to the nation states. The solution to this drama is so simple: Germany needs the AfD and Europe needs the ESN.

The sum is to be increased from $100 billion a year to $1.3 trillion for overseas wind turbines, for solar fields in deserts, for corporations enriched by the green money rain. While our Member States are heavily indebted, our economy is smeared and families barely know how to pay their bills, this is a policy of self-destruction. We say clearly: Not in our name, not for climate lies! Therefore: Germany needs the AfD, and Europe needs the ESN.

This summer there was an urgent announcement in the Tagesschau in Germany: There are more and more local outbreaks of tropical diseases transmitted by mosquitoes in southern Europe, such as dengue fever, Zika, malaria and chikungunya. Madam President, The CO2-Border adjustment mechanism to be simplified. However, the new proposal would still provide 99 percent of our imports of iron, steel, cement, fertilizers and aluminum with unsustainably high CO2 emissions.2Charges are charged. And for what? The ESN welcomes the One Substance, One Assessment initiative. It finally creates more overview, avoids duplication of work, and data should be accessible in one place. This could have been conceived from the very beginning. The focus on early risk detection of the effects of chemicals on humans also improves health protection without prohibiting everything. We think that's okay, but reality also includes: The chemical industry is a strategically important sector in the EU that we depend on. The emission allowances must also finally be abolished, otherwise they will completely deviate. It is time for Brussels to think not only about rules – but also about jobs! The frost leads to a significant increase in gas and electricity consumption. In 2023, 5.5 million people lived in Germany, who considered that they could not keep their house and apartment adequately warm due to financial reasons. Our citizens, businesses and farmers are financially ruined by climate taxes, overwhelmed by conditions and regulations, and made ill by scaremongering – even our children. This must be stopped immediately! Planting trees is the scientifically proven, simplest, most natural, most humane and most effective environmental protection.
