Territorial integrity and sovereignty of Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark: the need for a united EU response to US blackmail attempts (debate)
Thank you for a very lively and supportive and good debate. The debate is closed.
Territorial integrity and sovereignty of Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark: the need for a united EU response to US blackmail attempts (debate)
Madam High Representative/Vice-President, you do not have an easy job, we know, but we are very, very eager to listen to you.
Territorial integrity and sovereignty of Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark: the need for a united EU response to US blackmail attempts (debate)
Dear colleagues, we are now at the catch-the-eye session. Before I give you the floor, I just want to repeat one thing. This House is a House of dignity. Offensive language, such as the one used by Mr Vistisen, is not acceptable in this House no matter how strong our political feelings are. It is about dignity – our own dignity. There will be consequences in accordance to his speech.
Territorial integrity and sovereignty of Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark: the need for a united EU response to US blackmail attempts (debate)
Thank you. This is closed. Just one blue card per person.
Territorial integrity and sovereignty of Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark: the need for a united EU response to US blackmail attempts (debate)
Dear colleague, there will be consequences for your expletive. There are two blue cards in the room. Will you accept one? I will give the floor to Kira Peter-Hansen.
Territorial integrity and sovereignty of Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark: the need for a united EU response to US blackmail attempts (debate)
I'm sorry, colleague, this is against our rules. As much as you might feel, or the room might feel on this, we have clear rules about curse words and language that is inappropriate in this room. I'm sorry to interrupt you, but it is unacceptable even if you might have strong political feelings about this.
Territorial integrity and sovereignty of Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark: the need for a united EU response to US blackmail attempts (debate)
Dear colleague, there was no blue card, but I think the sentiment of the room was that you might have offended some of the colleagues. We continue the discussion with Rasa Juknevičienė. To the room, we have taken over 20 catch-the-eyes. At this point, I will close the catch-the-eye to give respect to the people who have followed all the debate. But blue cards are now open.

Order of business
Madam President, Swiss people are not part of the EU, so they don't get a vote in the EU, neither do North Macedonians. All of them have had sorrow when their kids went up in fire, a moment which you so kindly commemorated. The same happened to Romanian young people in Colectiv in 2015. So I urge you, Madam President, to give these parents more, to give them more than thoughts and prayers, to give them legislation. And I look to the Commission to ban fireworks once and for all, because they do harm on the outside to animal welfare, and they do harm on the inside to humans. Let us never let this happen again to any people in Europe.
Implementation of the rule of law conditionality regime (debate)
Madam President, I will use this minute to bring to the European Parliament the voice of a Romanian judge: ‘My name is Raluca Moroșanu, I am a judge at the Bucharest Court of Appeal and I have 26 years of magistracy. I came to say publicly that everything my colleague Laurentiu Beciu said is true. If it is contradicted, it is a lie. At the Court of Appeal we work very hard and we are terrorized with disciplinary actions, without the support of the leadership. The atmosphere is very toxic and tense. Some will remain silent for fear, others will support the leadership. I wasn't a covered officer or anything. I've been a magistrate my whole life. And others said and I trained for 15 years judges and clerks in Romania. If you don't believe my colleague, at least believe me." There are 45 seconds that have taken Romania to the streets. That's 45 seconds of courage we all needed. That's what the rule of law is about. About truly independent justice and about free judges and respected people.
European Citizens’ Initiative ‘My voice, my choice: for safe and accessible abortion’ (debate)
Dear colleagues, in this moment, I have to close the blue cards. I love the debate, but otherwise you will not have a chance to have the catch-the-eye, and it would be disrespectful to those who participated in the whole debate.
European Citizens’ Initiative ‘My voice, my choice: for safe and accessible abortion’ (debate)
Colleagues, I will take as many blue cards as possible, but not when there are several at the same time.
