EU cybersecurity and preparedness in view of advanced AI systems (debate)
Madam President, I'm sorry. Commissioner, I'm sorry. The European Union has made many mistakes by introducing too many regulations that have paralyzed the European economy and industry. And today we are witnessing that we are becoming less and less competitive. Nevertheless, it is necessary to draw conclusions from what has happened and it is not possible at the moment to bring about such a situation that the European Union is an outsider in this race to develop artificial intelligence. Therefore, we should first of all lead to a situation where we are really competitive, we have an idea of how to develop this sector here, here, in Europe. But on the other hand, this is obviously a huge threat. We are witnessing cyber-attacks practically every day and it is therefore necessary to put in place rules and regulations that will protect European citizens and the European economy from this threat. Nevertheless, let us remember one thing: the line between freedom of speech and making this regulation paralyze everyone is very thin.
