Mr President, Mr Zoido, who preceded me in speaking, was Minister of the Interior, a good Minister of the Interior, when the coup d'état of Mr Sánchez's current partners took place. With them he came to power. With them he won the motion of censure. With them he has agreed an election that he lost in order to continue governing. What is in Spain is indescribable. The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party is not what you believe, if any of you have spoken in good faith: It is a plot of corruption, it is pure corruption, it is cronyism, nepotism, personal interests, and moreover, every time a judge dares to act against them or investigate them, what they do is move on to the personal attack against that judge. They have placed at the head of the Constitutional Court a figure who is dedicated to entering into the substance of cases that have been tried by the Supreme Court, which are final and cannot be re-judged. It is, I insist, indescribable. If you believe that Europe should not be concerned about such a situation, we do not have the same idea of Europe.

Madam President, since you are not ashamed, let me be ashamed for you, Madam, for what I have just heard. You come here with a debate title that is a request for principle - that is the name of the logical fallacy: stop the genocide in Gaza. It's like I'm saying, We are going to discuss stopping drug trafficking in your political group. It would be a lie, just as genocide is a lie. What genocide is it that has caused the Palestinian population in Gaza to multiply tenfold since 1950? What genocide is it that has caused the Palestinian population in the West Bank to multiply sixfold since 1967? The accusation of genocide against the people who have suffered the genocide that has stained, weighed down and condemned modernity in the West is an infamy and, in addition, it is pure anti-Semitism, according to the very definition of anti-Semitism of the governmental organization called the International Alliance for the Remembrance of the Holocaust. Madam President, we have already warned of the risks of shutting down nuclear plants, of basing our energy system on renewables, of becoming dependent on the outside. In the end, the facts, sadly, have proved us right, and the power grid has collapsed, causing an unprecedented blackout of fatal consequences - ten dead, so far - and embarrassing. This has happened only days after the head of Red Eléctrica de España – a person without technical training placed by you – boasted. Of what? The impossibility of a major blackout in Spain. Faced with this panorama, Sánchez's socialist government hides information and fabricates some convincing lie that has not yet occurred to him. This calamitous situation is the result of years of application of political agendas moved by ideological fanaticism that do not attend to reality. We already see the fruits of the Green Deal. In the end, as always, it is the citizens who pay the bill for their experiments, lord sorcerer's apprentices.

Madam President, Commissioner, you, who are the aristocracy of the bureaucracy, urge us to be prepared for catastrophes of all kinds. We just heard it. The apocalypse is approaching in the form of weather disasters, war, fake news, foreign interference. It seems to me that they intend to generate a permanent state of fear. So we will thank you to do with us what you want. And what you want is to make normal the exceptional, the exception, in order to have us subdued and vulnerable to power. The most scandalous thing is that these dangers they now alert to are the consequence of their own policies, whether by conscious action or calculated omission: it is not climate disasters, it is the Green Deal; it is not war, it is the lack of action and investment for years in defense policies; It's not foreign interference or fake news, it's you trying to control the story yourself, it's you taking interference to the extreme, nullifying democratic elections, taking uncomfortable candidates off the track. If it were true that you have to prepare for any crisis, it would be your fault.

Madam President, during the last legislature this House insisted and insisted on the issue of the Green Deal, which was going to solve all our problems. A few months after the end of that legislature, you have to tacitly, implicitly disdain yourself. That ideological agenda proved to be a drag on our businesses and European competitiveness. Even so, this omnibus package will not mean the elimination of those obstacles. What is being done is to postpone the problems. Let no one think that the consensus of popular and socialists will retract the opportunity to carry all these nonsense to the end. What European companies need is more freedom, less taxation, less bureaucracy, less regulation and an end to legislative hyperinflation. This is the only way to grow and generate employment. If Europe intends to take the place in the world it deserves, the first thing, the most advisable thing, is that European entrepreneurs do not find themselves in the European Union with The Castle Kafka, which is the great nightmare of modernity, which takes the form of absurd, infinite and discouraging bureaucracy, like this house.

Madam President, I want to strongly condemn the murder of Ján Kuciak and Martina Kušnírová, as well as that of all journalists who have paid for their profession with their lives. It seems untrue that this happens in a Member State of the Union, that freedom of the press, and even freedom of expression, are in question in Europe. I also want to denounce the fact that the mafias, the cartels, the terrorist groups, the hitmen, who are the material executors of these crimes, develop their sinister activity on our continent. Law enforcement also pays a very high price – often with their own lives – in the fight against them. By the way, Ján and Martina's is unfortunately not an isolated case: Just this week, the Maltese judiciary, under pressure from its government, released the mastermind of the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana. I hope we don't forget about her either.

Madam President, in a minute I do not have time to argue, but I do have time to advise you to read a book of the 2015 Nobel Prize in Economics, Angus Deaton: The Great Escape. Its third part is dedicated to development aid and is a clear demonstration, from someone who does not come from the ranks of the right, that development aid has proven counterproductive. The way forward is to achieve development conditions in the countries we are trying to help. And once the conditions of development are established, development occurs on its own. Therefore, between this and what has been known about the fate of USAID funds, I must congratulate President Trump for withdrawing those funds supposedly for development and also for withdrawing from the Paris Agreement and the World Health Organization.

Madam President, activity in all sectors is nourished by knowledge, the most important asset in the contemporary world. The contribution of this key asset has been to a very large extent in charge of vocational education and training. We have suffered a gradual abandonment of this asset that is highly correlated with the generation of wealth, with competitiveness, with the increase in productivity; instead, hyperinflation of universities has been promoted. The error is going to pay dearly in the new technological paradigm, it has been preferred to prioritize indoctrination. This is the representative of a country with the highest youth unemployment in Europe: Our Spanish youth were deceived by painting vocational training as something of a second category. 2023 was the European Year of Skills. However, there has been no serious attempt to revitalize this critical area, without which companies and organizations lack adequate human resources to meet their varied and specific needs.

Mr. President, on July 28, the Venezuelan people voted en masse for Edmundo González Urrutia as their legitimate president, hoping to end Maduro's tyranny once and for all. Right now, the situation in Venezuela leaves no room for doubt as to the way forward in the European Union: We have a democratically elected president and a tyrant who has staged a coup to perpetuate himself in power. Given such a clear situation, how is it possible that the High Representative of the Union and all the Member States did not immediately and unanimously recognise Edmundo González as the legitimate President of Venezuela? The co-religionist of some deputies who sit here, Mr. Monedero, has given a speech on humanism in the largest torture center in America, the sinister El Helicoide, in Caracas. Is there greater vileness? The left leaves democratic values aside when it comes to defending dictators of its ideology, whether from Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua or any other enemy of freedom such as Russia or Iran. How many more dead? How many more retaliators? How many political prisoners and exiles – seven million of us already in exile – does it take for this Parliament to recognise the legitimate president of Venezuela? How can the European Union play equidistance and at the same time draw breasts from its own principles?

Mr. President, Trump inaugurates his second term with the world left again predicting the end of the world. However, all those jeremiadas are no longer credible, since this man has already ruled four years in a mandate that has been the most pacifist in US foreign policy in recent decades. Trump himself, during his investiture speech, has reiterated that he will continue in an external line based on peace and non-interference. Trump's second victory is once again a paradigm shift on the world stage. Moreover, Trump has already achieved – before his inauguration – a ceasefire in Gaza and that Putin and Zelenskyy are at least open to negotiating a peace for Ukraine. These achievements leave in evidence a left whose arguments we already know and force us to choose which course to take: Either we take advantage of everything that unites us with our ally on the other side of the Atlantic, or we lock ourselves in and lament, while the United States and China leave us behind definitively. Europe is not in a position to compete with the two great powers and we have not taken advantage of these last years to put ourselves in that position. On the contrary, we have persevered in policies that weigh us down and make us less competitive.

Madam President, let me see if I understand: if the tycoon, the billionaire, turns out to favor ideology surprised Putting money into the media, into educational programs, into NGOs, then he's a philanthropist, like George Soros and like Bill Gates. But if it turns out that what he does is buy and open a network to freedom - which means that instead of having verifiers he self-organizes, which is the way he ends up knowing the truth about the issues - then he will be called a Nazi. You want to give lessons on what disinformation is and several have said here that Mr Musk made a Nazi salute yesterday. The verifiers are unfortunately biased. Companies that have dedicated themselves to verifying what was true or false - that you have to be arrogant and you have to consider citizens as minors - are all skewed to the left. With this we are winning in freedom. Indeed, what you are proposing here is a return to censorship.

Madam President, the Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities includes people with mental health problems. No one would say it by listening to you. I heard that the incidence was five million people in Europe. Eighty-seven million people before the pandemic had mental health problems in the European Union. There is a lot of talk about disability and all the disabled are put in the same bag. It's absurd. Mental health disorders require a strategy of their own, determined and profound. Inclusion, Mrs Lahbib, requires access to a job. Are you aware of how devilishly difficult it is for someone with a mental disorder to do a job, even when most of the time their behavior doesn't reflect that? Do you have any idea of the weight, the stigma, when sporadically the behavior does reflect it? Have you considered the particularities of those good professionals who, however, have to take a medication all their lives that affects their skills? Do you know that most health systems in Europe do not meet the minimum, do not understand that the mentally ill need pharmacological support ...

Madam President, there is no war of aggression in which a justification or an excuse – or many – of historical appearance is not used. The powers that attack usually do so on the basis of I do not know what offenses and grievances of a historical type that are usually simplifications or open lies regarding facts that the general public does not know, because history, historiography, is a specialty. It takes advantage of this massive ignorance to hurl crude lies. But within the lies there is not only the open and flagrant lie, there is also the concealment of a part of the story, there are also the specific facts that are selected and the way in which they are interpreted. Therefore, it is true that the Russian case is a gross manipulation of an aggressor power against a country that has wanted to be free and belong to the free world. Also – and if we did not say this, we would not be telling the truth – there is a bastard use by history in democratic countries. And I want to give as an example my own, Spain, where a Law of Democratic Memory steals half of what happened in the Civil War and where the Catalan separatists have not stopped taking advantage, with Russian support, of the historical lie.

Mr. President, I'm hearing here a kind of threat about shutting down the networks. Look, if you shut down TikTok, I personally will find it fantastic, because it's a company whose parent company is in Beijing and therefore it's a data-filled network of billions of people that's actually controlled by a fierce communist regime. But that's not the case with other social networks. I'm hearing things that sound very undemocratic. How are they going to stop certain posts on a network like X, for example, where community notes allow you to correct falsehoods that other users may post? You believe little in complexity. The way of organizing complex systems, when blatant lies appear, is precisely self-organization, something in which the dirigistas believe little.

Mr President, Commissioner, I was surprised by what the report says and what the report hides about Spain, a place where the basic rules of the rule of law have been violated for several years. The highest governing body of judges in Spain, the General Council of the Judiciary, has been renewed through a shameful tutelage of the European Commission, in which once again the PP and the PSOE have distributed the armchairs. The amnesty law, approved through negotiations between the government and the worst of the Spanish Parliament -separatists, philoterrorists and communists- has broken the equality between citizens. In Spain an autocracy is being built. Where is the independence of the judiciary? Where is the rule of law? Where is Europe to save us from ourselves, as prophesied again and again by the submissive and controlled opposition of the People's Party? It seems that it is much easier to scapegoat Hungary and forget about others.

Madam President, ladies and gentlemen, once again we see that, for the plans of soft totalitarianism that these self-directed powers have prepared in great decision-makers of what does not correspond to them, there is nothing better than the verbiage to cover up those intentions, right? Addressing contemporary global challenges through renewed multilateral cooperation, blah, blah, blah. This doesn't mean anything. Do you know what it does mean? Look, global governance, which is not about governance, but about global government, about world government, is the old utopia that, like all utopias, carries a dystopia. Only through violence – violence against the will of the people, violence against the principle of representation of citizens, violence against the only sovereign subject, which is the nation-state – and only by pushing further and further away the legitimate subject in the international order, which is the state, can one come to identify supposedly governmental international organisations, supposedly representative of the interests of nations, with something that nobody has asked of them and that they do, say, according to a series of strange private actors – big platforms, big interests more or less anonymous – who have decided how all the citizens of the planet have to live. They've decided we have to sacrifice ourselves. Not to sacrifice ourselves, but to eliminate industries in the same way that agriculture is being eliminated. The automobile industry will have to be wiped out. Yeah, well, I see time's running out. I do not want to leave without stressing that all this is nothing more than a totalitarian plan.

Madam President, ladies and gentlemen, I am surprised because I am just a MEP, a simple Spanish MEP who comes here to express a political position, and I hear how all the interventions that precede me tell what the European Parliament has to do, what the European Union has to do. Well, let me imitate you. I will say that the first thing the European Union would have to do is stop funding the Palestinian National Authority as long as this Authority continues to use these funds to pay for the project. Pay for slay, i.e. to reward murders. Not only to reward and encourage murders, but also more is paid, more is financed, to those whom they call martyrs – and here we must call, for a minimum of decency, terrorists. More is paid to those prisoners who have more years of punishment, that is, the more you have killed, the more we will pay your family. And those who fall into the terrorist act are assured the annuity for their relatives. So the European Union must stop financing terrorism. I wish Hamas was a peaceful movement, but it turns out to be a terrorist organization, and those are the terms by which we define it here. I wish they did not use children as human shields, but it turns out that, when there are bombings, they, Hamas terrorists, hide anywhere, where they can, and there are many such places because they have hundreds of kilometers of tunnels that they have built with the money sent to them as international aid and that they are supposed to go to get their children educated, to be calm, to have infrastructure ... while what they do to their children is indoctrinate them in hatred at school and tell them that it would be a pride and an honor for the family to die as martyrs. I wish things weren't the way they are. But on October 7, Hamas launched an attack of unprecedented brutality. The images that have been seen about it have no comparison to anything our generations have seen before. And the voice of the West has been: Yes, Israel has the right to defense, but... Because, when it comes to the Jews, there is always a but.

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, comparing Israel to the Nazi state is an example of specific anti-Semitism offered by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, which is an intergovernmental organisation to which most of the countries of the European Union belong. Today Israel has been compared here to the Nazi regime. This summer dozens of campuses in Europe and America have become loudspeakers of anti-Semitic slogans, with no response from the Commission. Now they are tearing their clothes talking about hate crimes and violent speech. Unfortunately, we in Europe are well aware of the consequences of anti-Semitism. The left wake He hates Europe's cultural and spiritual roots and will do his best to erase them, but they will face us, defending religious freedom, pointing out their hypocrisy and upholding the truth. By entering the dark grotto of anti-Semitism, the world knew absolute evil and absolute evil was in Europe. Don't let anyone forget.
