Clean Industrial Deal (debate)
The Spanish Socialist Delegation to Parliament welcomes the Clean Industry Pact, which has the potential to be the engine of transformation that strengthens European industry. While other regions of the world face political ups and downs, confrontation and uncertainty in their policies, the EU must demonstrate stability, and the European Green Deal is and must continue to be the firm pillar for competitiveness and sustainability. Reindustrialising Europe with a sustainable and competitive model will only be possible if we guarantee affordable energy for our industries and our citizens. We need more renewables and interconnections for a real Energy Union and markets and instruments that reflect this affordability for industry. In addition, funding is an essential condition. It is good news that this plan comes with resources, but we must ensure that the next multiannual financial framework continues in that direction. We need to bet on European champions capable of competing globally. This Pact is also an opportunity to foster the clean technology sector to modernise our industrial base and improve our living conditions.
