Breaches of EU law and of the rights of LGBTIQ citizens in Hungary as a result of the adopted legal changes in the Hungarian Parliament - The outcome of 22 June hearings under Article 7(1) of the TEU regarding Poland and Hungary (continuation of debate)

(you can find the previous sections in the written contributions of Tamás Deutsch, Andrea Bocskor, Lívia Járóka, Edina Tóth) ‘Act LXXIX of 2021 on taking stricter action against paedophile offenders and amending certain acts for the protection of children’, cit. 6 Amendment of Act CCXI of 2011 on the protection of families Section 10(1) Act CCXI of 2011 on the protection of families (hereinafter: Section 1(1) of Act CLXXXIII of 2005 is replaced by the following: ‘(1) The State shall protect the institution of family and marriage, also because of their inherent dignity and value, with particular regard to the parent-child relationship which forms the basis of the family relationship, in which the mother is a woman and the father a man.’ (2) Paragraph 1(2) is replaced by the following: ‘(2) The protection of orderly family relations and the right of children to self-identity corresponding to their sex at birth are of particular importance for the protection of physical, mental and mental health.’ (3) The following Section 5/A is added to Act Csvt.: ‘Section 5/A For the purposes set out in this Act and for the protection of children, it is prohibited to make pornographic content available to persons under the age of eighteen, as well as content depicting sexuality for its own sake or promoting or portraying deviation from self-identity corresponding to sex at birth, gender reassignment or homosexuality.’
