Thank you very much. The amendment was declared inadmissible for the same reason as the last one: because it was outside the scope of the resolution. And the President's decision is final.
Thank you very much. The amendment was declared inadmissible by the President because it was out of the scope of the resolution. And the President's decision is final.
Thank you very much. Your amendments were declared inadmissible according to Rule 188(1)(a) of the Rules of Procedure, as they did not directly relate to the text that they sought to amend. In fact, your amendments were aiming at repealing the directives, while the Commission proposal is only proposing to postpone the date from which the Member States are to apply certain corporate sustainability reporting and due diligence requirements. They were never published because they were ruled inadmissible. So there you have your answer.
On the proposal of the Committee on Legal Affairs, Parliament verifies the credentials of Sirpa Pietikäinen, Andi Cristea and Liudas Mažylis with effect from 1 December, 2 December and 5 December 2024, respectively. I would like to announce that I will take three requests for points of order, and then we will go to the vote. So a little patience from your side, but it will not be too long, I hope. The first one will be Mr Vistisen, please.
Dear colleagues, since we have a long vote, I hope that you will take your seats, and let's begin. The President has received a request from the competent authorities in Germany for the parliamentary immunity of Petr Bystron to be waived. This request is referred to the Committee on Legal Affairs.
Thank you very much, Vice-President Séjourné. I knew that you understood the importance of sticking to the speaking time. Thank you very much – and also to you colleagues, for your cooperation. It has been a pleasure. To wind up the debate, I have received one motion for a resolution tabled in accordance with Rule 136(2). The debate is closed. The vote will take place tomorrow.
The next item is the debate on the Commission statement on energy-intensive industries (2025/2536(RSP)). I would like to remind you that we will continue with the test of the new format for this debate and there will be no speaker list. After the first round of speakers on behalf of the groups, Members who received speaking time from the political group or non-attached secretariat will be called to speak and will be reminded of their allotted speaking time. Please keep an eye on the screens in the Chamber, where the current speaker and the next three speakers will be displayed. When your name appears as upcoming speaker, I would like to ask you to prepare and make your way to the rostrum. The normal rules regarding blue cards and the catch-the-eye procedure will apply during this debate.
The debate is closed.
Conclusions of the European Council meeting of 20 March 2025 (debate)

Speeches
Madam President! War in Europe is no longer something we read about in history books. It's reality. Ukraine is fighting in the fourth year for their freedom, for ours. Denmark takes responsibility. The front states are taking responsibility, and now the rest of Europe must come along. We have to make up our minds whether or not we are going to defend our continent. We cannot defend our values with half-measures and empty promises. If we want a strong Europe, we need action. It requires armament. It requires investment, and it requires the will to stand together. The European Commission has made a good proposal and the Council should support it. Not next year, not in five years, but now. We cannot continue to place responsibility on those who live closest to the war. We must share the burden if we want to share freedom. We must not doubt. We must stand firm and we must stand firm, we must stand united in Europe. I believe that Europe can, if we want to.
