The EU’s post-2027 long-term budget: Parliament’s expectations ahead of the Commission’s proposal (debate)

Speeches
Madam President, that the structure of our budget needs to be adapted to new realities, we all agree with that; that cohesion policy must be modernised, simplified and made more effective, we also agree. But this modernisation must not be a pretext for dismantling a policy which is above all a regional policy guaranteed by the Treaties to reduce disparities, and sacrificing the Berlin method and the categorisation of regions would be quite inconsistent. Renationalising, sacrificing the ERDF and ESF for a mega-fund backed by new objectives, means turning our backs on millions of citizens who, in rural, outermost and deindustrialised areas, rely on Europe not to be abandoned by their state. You have a few days to avoid persevering with a proposal that is opposed by the regions of Europe, by a very large number of countries and by our European Parliament.
Protecting bees: advancing the EU's New Deal for Pollinators (debate)
Date:
19.06.2025 15:29
| Language: FR
Speeches
Madam President, Commissioner, they do not speak, but without them the world would be silent. And yet, bees are already dying massively and their buzzing is running out in the din of our pesticides and a choice of a productivist and intensive agricultural model that we know today must turn the page. Every hive that empties is a field that runs out. A flower that does not fruit and, in totality, a promise of life that vanishes. Bees weave in flight the balance of life, colors and seasons too. I therefore call on the European Commission not to give in to the scuttling of the European Green Deal and to ban the most dangerous substances and to support agroecological practices. It is absolutely vital that insects remain, it is vital to prohibit what kills them, to love and protect what allows life.
