Implementation report on the Recovery and Resilience Facility (debate)
Madam President, I'm sorry. The European Union reacted very quickly to the pandemic as a body that brings together so many countries and mobilised the Recovery and Resilience Fund there. Unfortunately, due to the violation of the rule of law and the conflict with the EU institutions of the previous government of Law and Justice, Poland could not use these funds for a long time. Instead of reaching for funds that were available, because they were not only loans, but also grants, the PiS government indebted the state. Thanks to the change of government, at the end of 2023, the funds were launched and are already going to schools, hospitals, local governments, entrepreneurs, but it is only 2 years later than in other countries. There is good news from last week, namely the settlement deadline for Poland has been extended until the end of 2026, and for today almost half of the funds allocated to Poland are contracted. Therefore, the European Union is not an imaginary community, as some Polish politicians say. Its actions bring concrete, tangible and tangible results.
