Discontinuing seasonal time change (debate)

Madam President, ladies and gentlemen. For years, Brussels has been talking about abolishing the time change, and nothing happens. People have said by an overwhelming majority: We want the end of this nonsense. The so-called European Parliament voted in 2019 in one of its few bright moments for the abolition of the time change, and yet we continue to turn the clock twice a year. Why? The Commission believes that because the Council is blocking the EU and it is not possible to agree on whether there should be a permanent summer or winter time. ‘Seriously?’ can only be asked here. Once again, it is clear how incapable this European Union is of action. The will of the citizens is ignored, decisions are delayed, responsibility is not assumed, but pushed back and forth. The EU fails on such a profane topic as the time change and hides behind excuses. The fact is: The people of Europe no longer want a pointless time change, and if the EU does not make it, then the nation states must finally act. Politics must solve problems, politics must not manage problems. So, what are we waiting for? To the next time change? The Commissioner gave me a hopeful vote today. Your words were very important indeed. I'm glad you put it so clearly. I thank you for this, and we hope that we will soon be living in a time together without having to turn times back and forth once or twice a year.

Capital usually flows only where there is legal certainty, but the Commission sends a fatal signal. Political interests are more important than law. The EU would thus become a financial rogue state. While the Commission wants to scam Russian billions, it is silent on the failure of the rule of law in its own Member States. Example: A Polish court acquits a suspected Nord Stream bomber and legitimises state terrorism – the Commission has so far made no mention of this. The Green Deal The EU needs to be brought to an end so that people in Europe can return to prosperity and, of course, be healthier.

Financial activities of the European Investment Bank – annual report 2024 (debate)

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, my dear son Maximilian! The EIB's 2024 annual report shows once again how far the EU has moved away from the needs of its citizens. While our economy suffers from inflation, energy costs, rising taxes and more and more bureaucracy, the EIB is mainly distributing billions for ever new climate projects. 2024: 50 billion – almost 60% of the total investment – in climate fraud, which primarily costs jobs and permanently weakens our industry. At the same time, with the Global Gateway strategy Billions burned in infrastructure projects in Africa and Asia, while bridges collapse in Europe, young Europeans can no longer afford housing – it is a shame. As an AfD/ESN group, we say quite clearly: The EIB must massively correct its course and refocus on investment in the European real economy. Stop the green climate fraud, stop the redistribution of German taxpayers' money to the rest of the world. Not ideological airlocks, but a competitive economy ensures the prosperity of Europeans. Dystopia sits in his faction and is called Strack carpenter. What is being sold to us by the Eurocrats as progress is, in reality, a dangerous error that makes people unfree. The Commissioner has just tried to show us all a beautiful fairy tale dressed in words. Digital markets – we say yes! Yes, if freedom and fair competition are promoted. But what does this EU do? It overregulates, it hinders innovation and thus strengthens the tech corporations, which are already too powerful. The so-called digital euro is not a harmless technical innovation in the style of cryptocurrency. It is the entry into total control over our money, over the money of the Europeans and thus over our lives. Cash will soon become a thing of the past, thus burying the freedom of European citizens. This cannot be done with us in the ESN Group. What happens when citizens buy fake books, donate to a politically disliked party, or simply buy too much meat? Two years since the devastating Tempi rail accident (debate)

How can it be that the then responsible transport minister Karamanlis resigned, but was back in the political arena a little later? When will the partially dilapidated route network on an important route between Athens and Thessaloniki finally be modernized? On the other hand, we spend billions on equipment as our infrastructure disintegrates. It is also noteworthy that the European Public Prosecutor's Office has investigated, and yet to this day hardly anything has been clarified, even though the tragedy was more than two years ago. It is a European disgrace. The ESN Group calls for a full investigation of the accident and a conviction of those responsible – we owe this to the 57 dead. No one wants to hear more excuses about the causes, that only a small railway keeper is to blame or that the economic crisis is just to blame. We will critically accompany the Political Commissioner Tzitzikostas in clarifying and improving the situation.

European Ocean Pact (debate)

Madam President, ladies and gentlemen, my dear compatriots, dear citizens of Leipzig! First of all, today, on 17 June, I would like to commemorate my brave compatriots who opposed Stalinism, socialist oppression, in 1953. Many of them were murdered or persecuted or broken throughout their lives. It is therefore a shame that barbaric socialism is on the rise again in Europe today. As a rule, big promises in the European Union come with big money, and the European Ocean Pact is no exception. Everyday things like responsible environmental protection are more likely to be underfunded. To secure funding, you need a really big, insane project that spans the entire globe. We justify this development by claiming that: global leader to be. However, given our stagnant startup culture and weaknesses in future technologies, other countries are increasingly less inclined to follow our example. For example, under the Trump administration, the United States has halted offshore wind projects and is instead relying on intensive support for fossil energy production – Keyword Drill, baby, drill. Bravo! However, climate policy is not only to the detriment of the economy, but also distracts important resources from nature conservation projects. For example, wind farms hinder nature conservation and tie up funds that could instead benefit small, environmentally friendly fisheries or better monitoring of marine protected areas. This system-distorting agenda is justified by a so-called climate emergency, which the EU alone considers an existential threat. Russian energy phase-out, Nord Stream and the EU's energy sovereignty (debate)

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, my dear parents in the stands! The total decoupling from the Russian oil and gas market is truly the top of all the Commission's nonsense. The consequences can be observed in my home country Germany: Years of recession, companies fleeing abroad and every day there are mass layoffs of skilled workers. Especially today, the economic modes report a further deterioration of the economic situation in Germany. If you talk to the entrepreneurs, you are consistently referred to too high energy costs. Before the Nord Stream 2 jump, Germany had competitive energy prices. The Commission's current plans are deliberate nonsense. What's more: The Commission is lying to people: The sanctions against Russia do not work, nor were the Russians an unreliable trading partner before the Commission decided on Europe's economic suicide. Where trade is conducted for mutual benefit – that was once the strength of Germany – there is usually no shooting at each other. I commend Donald Trump's prudent interest policy. Donald Trump is even thinking about repairing and operating Nord Stream 2 together with the Russians. Bravo! Nord Stream 2 as a peace project – a good idea for the new Europe.

80 years after the end of World War II - freedom, democracy and security as the heritage of Europe (debate)

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen. Today is the 80th anniversary. The end of the Second World War. Hundreds of historians have assessed the question of guilt accordingly. But not everyone remembers this day as a liberation. For millions of Germans, May 8 marked the beginning of flight, violence and disenfranchisement. I ask: What is the fault of the child Frank Droese, who was five years old in 1945 and was born in Königsberg? As it lost 14 million Germans their homeland. Like his aunts and older sisters, countless women have been victims of sexualized violence. Eighty years after the end of the Second World War, we should begin and have the courage to commemorate all these victims.

CO2 emission performance standards for new passenger cars and new light commercial vehicles for 2025 to 2027 (debate)

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen. This regulation is a prime example of green alienation and EU bureaucracy. To get through these 54 pages, you would need three things: a specialist lawyer for environmental law, a mathematics professor and a linguist. For example, the term ‘specific CO2–To understand "emissions" in Article 3, it is necessary to understand only five – I repeat: five – read other EU regulations. Incidentally, all this nonsense is justified as follows: For example, Article 1 states that this Regulation contributes to the proper functioning of the internal market. So humor, my colleagues, the authors seem to have quite obvious. The internal market works if, firstly, it is organised in a market economy and, secondly, people and businesses are not constantly annoyed with ever new meaningless rules, such as superfluous reporting instructions such as those contained in this Regulation. The regulation is invasive, over-bureaucratic and does business and private individuals alike. Get rid of all emissions regulations. Get rid of it! And finally: It is good that the electoral liar Friedrich Merz was not elected chancellor. I hope it stays that way. Friedrich Merz would thus render Germany a service.

Health care related tourism: protecting EU patients abroad (debate)

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen. The Commission is concerned about health services in the tourism sector – that sounds good at first. But if you look at the details of the EU plans at stake: Again, there are a lot of rules, unclear rules, unclear responsibilities, inconcrete financing, controls, reporting points. There is no question; Health tourism is known to be a booming market in the EU. Around 5% of tourism is earned through wellness and health, and this share is constantly increasing – considering Europe’s demographics. But the key question here is again: Is health tourism a task for the EU? We say no. If someone from Germany goes to the dentist in Hungary, they have to find out about the risks – the EU is not the legal guardian of Europeans. Another important issue is patient rights. In autumn 2024, for example, a dedicated workshop was held in Brussels. Motto: Mindfulness of patient rights. We say: People are intelligent enough to inform themselves. And if someone isn't, it's their problem – we trust the Europeans. The security aspect is strongly emphasised in the current EU plans. As far as safety is concerned, I would have a few suggestions for the Commissioner. Especially in international traffic: Increased controls at the EU’s external borders – even likely – also ensure greater safety with regard to the introduction of infectious diseases. And further: More self-responsibility for medical institutions, less bureaucratic controls and, above all, less corrupt NGOs. The coronavirus regime has shown us that the EU is only partially resilient, especially in the health sector. By the way, to this day, Ms von der Leyen's contracts with the pharmaceutical companies are still under lock and key. Why actually? Where is the much-vaunted transparency? I could imagine Mrs. von der Leyen very well with an ankle cuff and more and more Europeans as well. Once again, on health tourism: Let people decide for themselves where to go on wellness holidays or go to the dentist. The real European needs neither supervised travel nor supervised holidays. This EU already has enough bureaucracy and corruption at its fingertips. Green tourism, fair tourism, sustainable tourism. People are fed up with it. It's hanging out their necks, and I can understand that. Commissioner, the plans you put forward can only be rejected. Get rid of it! Less Europe is more and more Europe.

The importance of trans-European transport infrastructure in times of stalling economic growth and major threats to Europe’s security (debate)

Madam President, ladies and gentlemen! While Europe is struggling with a stagnating economy and the Commission's geopolitical blind flight, today we are discussing the importance of trans-European transport projects. Just as if the problems in economic and transport policy had simply fallen from the sky – but that is not the case. These are all consequences of wrong policies. Whether climate madness, the sanctions regime or illegal mass migration organised by NGOs, everything that is lacking elsewhere devours money. In my native Saxony, bridges are collapsing; Deutsche Bahn is a shadow of itself. Nevertheless, Brussels wants to spend hundreds of billions on any arms projects. The EU demands joint debts for defence and infrastructure, but in the end German taxpayers always pay the bill. At the same time, recession and illegal migration in Europe threaten our prosperity and security. Let us first tackle the real problems facing the citizens of Europe. Recession with clever economic policies, illegal migration with remigration and corrupt Eurocrats with justice.

European oceans pact (debate)

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen! The Commission feels responsible for everything, and only it knows what is good for the whole world – what modesty. Now a pact for the oceans. There are only a handful of countries on the Atlantic. The EU has a very modest name in the text ‘Global champion of sustainability’. It's delicious. What does the Commission want? Ladies and gentlemen, nature regulates its own changes, the climate changes with and without humans, and fish adapt as they have for millions of years.

Conclusions of the European Council meeting of 20 March 2025 (debate)

Madam President, It is a pity that Mrs von der Leyen fled Parliament at the first critical comment from my colleague on her shameful policy here, but perhaps she is already practising for later. Von der Leyen now wants to invest 800 billion in the rearmament of the EU. I would like to ask: How much money will end up in your pocket? After all, they are being hunted for corruption. We need to fight bureaucracy and corruption in the EU; the US shows us how to do it – with DOGE. As long as this does not happen, we can tip another trillion and billions of euros of European taxpayers into the system, without any visible success. I therefore hope, first of all, that the Europeans will expel Mrs von der Leyen from office, and I hope for Justice that Mrs von der Leyen will soon have to wear an ankle restraint.
