Decision of the Azerbaijani Parliament on suspending cooperation with the European Parliament (debate)
Madam President, the formal notification of Azerbaijan's withdrawal from our EuroNest Assembly should not be treated as a mere procedural hazard. It is the factual sanction of a strategic decommissioning, that of a European Union that persists in playing with the states. The analysis of this crisis reveals a bankruptcy articulated around three realities that you refuse to face. Diplomatically, we are paying the price for your interference. My commitment to the survival of Armenia and the protection of Eastern Christians is unwavering. The millennial history of this region required complete clarity. However, you believed that you could secure vital gas supplies, while multiplying from this Chamber condemnatory resolutions that have never protected a single Armenian. By usurping the role of nations in imposing your morality, you have produced neither peace nor respect: you have generated the vacuum. Geopolitically, nature hates the void and it is the United States that has filled it. The Trump Road to Peace and International Prosperity project, spearheaded by the new US administration, is a case study of realism. Washington was able to read the map. They crystallized a bundle of interests around a transit corridor, aligning the imperatives of Armenia and Azerbaijan. They have imposed a regional equation with which even Iran, though historically defying its borders, is forced to come to terms. The result is relentless: A new strategic road opens, pacified, but under mainly American control and capital. Geoeconomically, Europe is isolated. Central Asia's trade routes and access to critical minerals are being structured without us, and our institution's hasty announcement of a South Caucasian corridor only appears for what it is: a catch-up gesticulation without any real anchorage. If we want to stop undergoing the recomposition of the world, we must first recall a fundamental truth: Diplomacy is the prerogative of sovereign states, not the European Commission. The urgency is to put an end to your declaratory diplomacy that sabotages our interests. Let's stop playing guardians of the world. Let nations defend their strategic supplies and reconnect with a real realpolitik adult. The Caucasus reminds us of an unchanging rule: Influence is not decreed from Brussels, it belongs to the states that respect each other.
