High time to deliver on the Single Market, providing certainty and predictability for EU businesses and quality jobs (continuation of debate)
Madam President, dear Europeans, the world market is no longer for us blue ocean, but the Red Ocean. A tough competition where there's no room for rentiers, corporate oligopolies, or zenith dinosaurs to make overpriced crappy products and then send lobbyists to Brussels to bend the market and force consumers to buy it. If you don't want to cry that the Chinese are beating us, like yesterday at Prima, come to Europe and change your attitude. Put money into public infrastructure, into energy, into transmission networks, into technical education, into health care for workers, into the digitalisation of public administration. Let's fight tariffs and sanctions. Let's conduct economic diplomacy with a simple ideology that unlocks our raw material resources and outlets. Let us foster a competitive environment in the Single Market that forces companies to innovate, reduce margins and cut or fail intermediaries, freeing up space for the better. Consumers will thank us. And that's the only way to discover European champions, businesses that can stand up in the world, pay taxes and give people jobs.
