The cases of unjustly imprisoned Uyghurs in China, notably Ilham Tohti and Gulshan Abbas
Madam President, one million Uighurs, a Muslim people in western China, are being crushed by the criminal communist regime, in lockdowns and concentration camps where genuine monstrosities are taking place. Ilham Tohti and Gulshan Abbas are symbols of the Uyghur pain and brutality of the communist regime. China is a danger to every free society, and business must not cover up this colossal threat. But the People's Republic of China is a very solvent business partner. Here are enthusiasts for Huawei, the world's largest spy company, and von der Leyen, Merkel and Macron themselves wanted to take a lot of European production to China. It was thwarted by COVID; Thank God, he interrupted. And then there was a very important turn in Europe to know who we are up against.
Escalation of violence in the Middle East and the situation in Lebanon (debate)
Madam President, many now say they are shocked by the entry into Lebanon of Israeli forces. Many, even if they do not say so clearly – right, Mr Borrell? – are very sorry that Israel has had such great successes in its war with Hezbollah, killed the historic leader Nasrallah and all his successors and led an unparalleled leadership of criminals. But no one here has raised their voice at the fact that, all this year, since the massacre of October 7, Israel had to give up almost a quarter of its tiny territory, because Hezbollah missiles made life unfeasible in the north of the country. There were perfectly useless United Nations troops there, Spanish in part, who have to be withdrawn, because they do nothing there. Israel would have to give up practically that, a quarter in the face of bombs. Any country that had, like Israel, neighbors turned into enemy terrorist bases that bombed its population on a daily basis, would be forced to take action. Otherwise, in the medium term, he would be doomed to succumb. Israel today is probably the only country in the Western world with a survival instinct and a real will to self-defense. That's an example we'll have to take. Entering Lebanon, it was a country with a Christian majority, which was called the Switzerland, yes, of the Middle East, and which only in half a century had its doors open until it was kidnapped by the guests: a Muslim majority who in turn allowed themselves to be abducted by a terrorist militia in the service of a foreign country. Israel is taking great steps to reorder the Middle East and we must seize that opportunity so that Lebanon acquires its sovereignty again real, has elections, its army dominates the entire country and is not that terrorist base that has been so far and that is insufferable, just like Gaza. There must be a new order, and Europe must help and not sabotage Israel's defense.
The Hungarian “National Card” scheme and its consequences for Schengen and the area of freedom, security and justice (debate)
Madam President, Hungary is presiding over the European Union this semester and yet it has not been given a courtesy truce in that indecent harassment to which both that country and its government have been subjected for five years. Non-stop, non-stop, harassing him with anything: anything goes against Hungary, anything, anything. If you take out permits for regular controlled entries by Russians and Belarusians, it is a monumental scandal, while in Spain tens of thousands of people are entering without documentation everywhere, many of them causing terror and death, and in Germany and other countries they are causing terror, and that does not seem to bother anyone. We have the collapse of security throughout Europe, and what bothers us is that some Russians come in controlled through security mechanisms that Hungary has and that do not affect the rest at all. How many deaths have we had for the Russians and Belarusians who have entered Hungary? And how many deaths have we had for those who have entered invited by Mrs Merkel and by the subsequent German governments and have sown, as I say, terror and death? I think that this double yardstick is absolutely scandalous with regard to Hungary. Hungary has a conservative government, and it is not tolerated. We have in Spain a delinquent Government, a Government that violates the Constitution, a Government that harasses the judges, a Government that has just taken measures to strangle the press and all freedom of expression, a Government that manages European funds from the Moncloa, with the president's wife distributing them to friends in exchange for favors ... That is Spain, and nobody talks about Spain or the threats posed by Spain. And she is being given here, right now, a Commissioner with the power to destroy Europe even more. The harassment of Hungary is absolutely disgusting.
Situation in Venezuela (debate)
Madam President, there has been a dictatorship in Venezuela for almost a quarter of a century. A dictatorship that, hand in hand with the criminal communist regime of Cuba, has been hardening and brutalizing every year that passed. It was already like this with Chávez, and with Maduro it already reaches levels of incredible cruelty and homicidal madness. In 25 years it has killed, imprisoned and tortured hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans; It has destroyed the lives of millions. It has plunged America's once richest country into misery, with an oil reserve larger than Saudi Arabia's. More than eight million Venezuelans have fled a country that once welcomed millions of Europeans to give them prosperity. All this is the result of the destructive and criminal socialism of Castroism. Venezuela is already like Cuba, that prosperous island before communism, today a garbage dump inhabited by the hungry and ruled by a criminal mafia. Now there is an opportunity to change this tragic story I have told you about Venezuela. Thanks to a woman, a heroine, María Corina Machado, the elections that the dictatorship organized to maintain the deception mobilized the entire nation, with the miracle of hope, and thanks to her organization, the acts that prove her humiliating defeat were snatched from the dictatorship. Thanks to that, the victory of the opposition candidate, Edmundo González Urrutia, is proven and ratified by international organizations. Now, the international community has to do its part. It has to recognize, in the first place, Edmundo González Urrutia as the legitimate president of Venezuela and impose all the pressure on Maduro and his environment so that they suffer if they do not accept the popular will. We see with sadness that the left here, in this hemicycle, led by some Spanish socialists with corrupt and unspeakable ties to the dictatorship, wants to avoid real pressure on the regime, wants to postpone sanctions and wants to leave everything in a kind of request for good behavior to the Maduro dictatorship. No, the resolution has what is just and necessary to defend Venezuelans and put credible pressure on the dictatorship. Maduro and his assassins must be certain that they will not have sanctuaries and their loot will be confiscated. I hope that, despite the accomplices that Maduro has in this hemicycle, many - of all groups - will vote for this resolution for freedom, democracy and Venezuelans.
The need for the EU's continuous support for Ukraine (debate)
Madam President, the truth is that it is very curious to see here after these two years the interpretations of what happens. The defense of the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, which was attacked by Russia, is a defense that we must all support and, more than anyone else, the sovereigntists, not those who have plans to dissolve nations and make them disappear. It is very funny, on the other hand, that we have here the Spanish socialists who govern thanks to those who live with Mr Putin, with Mr Puigdemont, with their ties, with their coup d'état. In Catalonia they live from Puigdemont. Spain has become the first buyer of Russian gas after China with Mr Sanchez. Let's see if we don't scam people like the Germans, who are so responsible for this that they haven't given weapons to the Ukrainians, who have sabotaged Ukrainian defense just like the French for two years and who are now crying because the Ukrainians have the situation they have. Where are the Taurus? Where are the guns? Where are the German weapons that should have been there at first? And the Germans only sent helmets: Helmets sent to Ukraine! (the Chair withdrew the floor to the speaker).
Recent attempts to deny dictatorships and the risk of Europe returning to totalitarianism (debate)
Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, do you know why the Spanish socialists want to talk about dictatorships of the last century? And why today Sanchez has mounted an absolutely grievous letter, saying that he is considering leaving because he feels harassed by the extreme right? Because they do not want to talk about Begoña Gómez, the wife of the head of government, Pedro Sánchez, an expert in European funds and friendly companies. Sánchez's wife has just been opened a judicial investigation for possible influence peddling, with an intimate relationship with dictatorships, not of the last century: with dictatorships of now, such as the narco-state of Venezuela, whose dictator is intimate with Zapatero, Sánchez and the entire PSOE. With this criminal dictatorship, the PSOE government exchanges suitcases, suitcases that enter Spain clandestinely. Yeah, that's happening. But I'm going to give you the pleasure of talking about the dictatorship in the past. The one the PSOE wanted when it delivered the 1934 coup and then the 1936 coup, when it murdered the head of the opposition. Largo Caballero said on January 20, 1936: If the right wing wins at the polls, we will have to go to the declared Civil War. And in The Socialist, in 1933: It is the dictatorship of the proletariat. We'll make revolution. We have to go through the period of transition to integral socialism, and that period is the dictatorship of the proletariat. You are in the Puebla Group, which is the Puebla cartel. Do not tell us about dictatorships, which are allied with all and with the murderers in Spain.
Iran’s unprecedented attack against Israel, the need for de-escalation and an EU response (debate)
Mr President, many here are surprised at Mr Borrell's position on Iran, which, at a time like the present, really responds almost by attacking Israel, rather than by talking about what happens to the Iranian attack. I'm going to tell you that five years ago Borrell wrote a thread on Twitter. It was 11 February 2019 - we had not yet had the bad idea of having him here as a high representative of foreign policy - and he sang to the Islamic Revolution on its fortieth anniversary, talking about all the social progress that had occurred in the Islamic Republic. In the seven tweets, there is not a word of criticism of a regime that had already killed tens of thousands of Iranians, assaulted the region and is one of the greatest enemies, not only of Israel – which promises to destroy it – but of the entire region. This can explain many things here.
Attempts to reintroduce a foreign agent law in Georgia and its restrictions on civil society (debate)
Madam President, the road to freedom is very difficult everywhere. It is much more so when you are close to Russia, to Putin's current Russia. The Law on Foreign Agents in Georgia is simply further proof that these hopes for trauma-free development towards Western freedoms are very difficult to achieve and have many setbacks. The Russian temptation is there, and the temptation of all these leaders to protect themselves through the Russian paws is there. We have to show that Georgia can get out of that current critical situation. It can come out in a peaceful way and deter Russia from repeating the bloody adventures it has already had in Georgia and is currently having in Ukraine.
EU’s response to the repeated killing of humanitarian aid workers, journalists and civilians by the Israel Defence Forces in the Gaza Strip (debate)
Mr. President, it is said here: Stop the war and release the hostages. Why don't we do it the other way around? Let them release the hostages, which may stop the war. But here the campaign against Israel is absolutely unbeatable. And, of course, we have his great champion here as well. Unprecedented things have really happened in Europe. In the West we have managed to fill the streets of all our capitals with immigrants, with Islamists shouting that they want to destroy Israel, that they want Palestine from the river to the sea, that is, to liquidate Israel. That is what we have achieved in reaction in all European capitals with these accusations that have been made to Israel with so little foundation. Israel is defending itself, it is defending itself against Iran, against that Iran that you have protected, Mr Borrell, for so long. During these five years he has been protecting the most criminal regime in the region, that regime that kills its own, that tortures its own, that kills its women and that wants to destroy Israel. And you are protecting both Iran and Hamas right now.
New allegations of Russian interference in the European Parliament, in the upcoming EU elections and the impact on the Union (debate)
Mr President, it is certainly very funny to hear German MEPs from the Greens/EFA Group, the S&D Group or the EPP Group talk about putinising and deputising, when they have been the ones who have putinised the whole of Europe. And they were told very clearly. Who was Schröder? Who is Olaf Scholz? Who's Steinmeier? And who is Mrs. Merkel with Nord Stream, who did what she did and who gave Putin what she gave him? Right now Spain is the largest buyer of Russian gas after China. Spain is an ally of Venezuela, of Cuba, of all Russia's allies. And it turns out that you make some scary lists, because you are afraid that you will run out of the single party of social democrats and people. They are running out and, because they are afraid, you are campaigning for disinformation and putting me and a number of people like me, who have been writing against Putin for forty years, and certainly for the last twenty years, on a list. They are so wrong and so sloppy when it comes to misinformation. The Russians misinform, of course, but you misinform a lot because you are afraid and because you are guilty of what has happened in Europe in the last twenty years that Putin has been. And you have been with Putin until the end.
Order of business
Madam President, it is a real shame that we are talking here about how we are talking about this conflict. That nothing has been said about the real cause... (the president interrupts the speaker) ... of this conflict, which is the hostages and Qatar and Iran, your friends, Qatar and Iran, who pay you... (The Chair took the floor from the speaker).
The case of Rocío San Miguel and General Hernández Da Costa, among other political prisoners in Venezuela
Mr President, today we are thinking of Rocío San Miguel, a great fighter for human rights who was abducted and is unaccounted for at the moment, and General Hernández Da Costa, who has been unjustly imprisoned for no less than six years and who is in absolutely deplorable health conditions. And we have a disqualified one that is María Corina Machado, which means the disqualification of the elections that some intend and intended to be held in Venezuela, and that are going to be completely impossible because elections cannot be held when you are stopping, when you are torturing yourself, when you are murdering yourself and when you are making yourself disappear, as you are doing in Venezuela without stopping. And the Barbados Agreement has been another farce, another farce to continue prolonging the situation, to have sanctions withdrawn and to be able to continue playing with the international community. Mr. Maduro will remain in place as long as he has defenders like Zapatero, like Borrell, as long as he has accomplices like Lula and Petro and so many others. And as long as there are no people to enforce international law and law in your home. Dictators never leave voluntarily, unless forced to do so.
Allegations of corruption and misuse of EU funds in Spain during the pandemic (topical debate)
Mr President, President von der Leyen wants to re-chair the left-wing alliance of the Partido Popular, Socialistas y Verdes, of which a well-known member of her party, Mr González Pons, is so proud. That alliance that is destroying agriculture, livestock, family heritage, subsidiarity, the freedom of Spain and that of all nations. To fuel this sinister alliance, the Commission has handed over to Pedro Sánchez, the head of Spain's ultra-left government, tens of billions as frivolously as she once did, in the pandemic, bought and paid for vaccines for hundreds of thousands of them. Today it is not known where much of the money is, but it is suspected. Not a day goes by without new revelations of brutal corruption pointing to the PSOE, the government and even Sánchez's wife, with corrupt connections to countries of narco-communist dictatorships that maintain privileged relations with Sánchez's extremist government. The greatest guarantee that European funds will not be denied, as hitherto, due to ideological arbitrariness, to countries such as Hungary and Poland, or given to favorites such as Sanchez, who, in addition to being an enemy of freedom, rules sunk in the corruption of his government and his party, is that von der Leyen will go home.
Critical situation in Cuba (debate)
Madam President, we see here again the summit of hypocrisy regarding Cuba, saying that we do regret ordinary prisoners, but we must talk a lot about the blockade. There's no blockage. There's no blockage. There is an embargo that does not prevent the United States from feeding Cuba. Cuba is a shame for the Western world and especially for the European Union, where it has many accomplices, who are the ones who maintain that criminal dictatorship, a murderous dictatorship that not only crushes its entire population in a brutal way for sixty-five years, but also spreads the poison of narcoterrorism throughout the continent and has also managed to create those bloody situations of tragedy and dictatorship in other countries. It has done nothing but export misery, hunger, pain, terrorism and blood. That's what Cuba has done. This is full of protectors and the first protector that should be here is called Borrell. That is why Cuba is a scandal and it is necessary that we end that unworthy Agreement that, in addition, finances that murderous dictatorship.
War in the Gaza Strip and the need to reach a ceasefire, including recent developments in the region (debate)
Mr. President, it's a shame. Yes, yes. It is a pity that Borrell is not here, because the same thing would have told us that we must disarm Israel or that we must mount a boycott of Israel, as they asked at the Berlinale this Sunday, which has become a kind of event like "the night of the broken crystals" in miniature. That's what we're seeing on the left: a phobia of Israel and some demonstrations that say that of "from the river to the sea", that is, that Israel disappears. These are the demonstrations that the left is promoting throughout Europe and especially, of course, in Spain, with members of the Government. I very much regretted that the European People's Party was aiming to change the title of this debate and to bring in the ceasefire and remove UNRWA. UNRWA, which some of us have known about for decades, is complicit in all the terrorists that have been in the Palestinian Territories and also, of course, Hamas, and is an organization that acts directly with them. But there's one fundamental thing about the ceasefire. There will be no ceasefire and there should be no ceasefire until Hamas is over, because Hamas puts everything in jeopardy and it cannot be started again. Hamas must end, all hostages must be released and then we talk about that ceasefire that should not be there and that has been put by the European People's Party, unfortunately.
Automated data exchange for police cooperation (“Prüm II”) (debate)
Madam President, at the beginning of this parliamentary term we insisted that in order to protect the Schengen area, it was necessary to improve the mechanisms for police cooperation and reform the Euro-Order. There is no point in having an internal area without border controls if criminals are free to go about their business and there are no rules in place to prevent criminals from absconding or finding forums of convenience to evade law enforcement in the Member States. However, here we are again in one of those grotesque contradictions of the European Union, because Mr Puigdemont and his troops are still absconding from Spanish justice without the Euroorder having been worth anything. And they're not petty criminals. I remind you that Mr. Puigdemont is being investigated for terrorism, as endorsed yesterday by the Board of Prosecutors of the Supreme Court of Spain by a very large majority, in addition to his connections to arrive mercenary troops from Russia and support the coup in Catalonia in 2017. It is good that we improve the data exchange system to prevent and investigate crimes, but what about the euroorder?, Is it more important to exchange photos of the criminal or really exchange criminals to pay their guilt?
Need to fight the increase of antisemitism and anti-Muslim hatred (debate)
Madam President, Commissioner, with all due respect, I believe that there is a trap already in the title here. Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia are presented as existing equally and being the same. That's a lie. There are two anti-Semitisms that make Europe again very dangerous for Jews. We import anti-Semitism with borders open to the illegal and uncontrolled entry of millions of Jew-haters. We have seen European cities full of Muslims calling for the extermination of Jews and the destruction of Israel. And there is the other anti-Semitism, which is the anti-Semitism of the left, disguised as anti-Zionism, with professional haters of Israel such as Pedro Sanchez, whom Hamas terrorists congratulate, or his minister Rego, who heads demonstrations calling for the disappearance of Israel. Islamophobia, on the other hand, is an invention of that same anti-Semitic left to intimidate Europeans and force them to accept the unacceptable with this invasion of a culture hostile to their way of life, of millions who do not come to integrate, but to a territorial conquest that has already begun. The rejection of invasive attitudes is not hatred of any ideology or religion, it is self-defense of those who are attacked and are not defended by their rulers.
Further repression against the democratic forces in Venezuela: attacks on presidential candidate Maria Corina Machado (debate)
Mr. President, Communist criminal dictators do not abdicate. They don't go home voluntarily. Some dictators who have on their consciences not tens of thousands, but hundreds of thousands of dead, tortured, disappeared, and who have created a tragedy like the one created by Nicolás Maduro with all organized crime: those don't abdicate. Barbados was for them the same as it has been on previous occasions when they have teased the entire international community. And it seems untrue that there are still people here who say they had high hopes. There was no great hope. The only great hope there can be is that, now that they went wrong because they let Maria Corina run for those primaries and win them overwhelmingly, there is now outside pressure that hasn't been there before for all the complicity there was with Maduro. Because Maduro is there because of the complicity that has been with him, as the Cuban dictatorship is where it is because of the complicity that has been with it. Massive pressure from the European Union, massive pressure on the entire regime from the United States and the OAS. And that's it. And without that, there will never be anything in Venezuela. They will turn 65 like Cuba.
Russiagate: allegations of Russian interference in the democratic processes of the European Union (debate)
Madam President, today we know that Latvian parliamentarian Tatiana Ždanoka is a spy for the FSB and Putin's secret services. She has also been very active in my homeland, in Spain. Today we know that, a few years before the criminal invasion of Ukraine, Putin participated in another brutal attack against a European country, this one a member of the Union and NATO: participated in a coup d'état in Spain, in the region of Catalonia. That separatist coup failed. The ringleader fled and, since that crime, he has shamed this House - usually sitting there, up there - with his presence. His name is Carlos Puigdemont. Today we know that Putin promised him mercenaries and money to destroy the continent's oldest nation, Spain. In return, he would get Russia's penetration of the European financial system and a bridgehead to make the clamp from the west with his subversive war against Europe. Now, Puigdemont is a protégé of Spain's head of government, Sanchez, who needs him to stay in power illegally. Ždanoka, spy for Russia; Puigdemont, high treason to Spain and Europe, and its impunity shows Europe's vulnerability.
Recent ecological catastrophe involving plastic pellet losses and its impact on micro plastic pollution in the maritime and coastal habitats (debate)
Mr President, to clarify matters: on 18 February there are elections in Galicia. It is a Spanish region with a beautiful coast that has now had a spill of pellets, as they are having the coasts of Tarragona, in Catalonia, continuously and that do not make us have a meeting of these here. Quiet, that the title is absolutely wrong. There is no ecological catastrophe, there is a problem that must be solved, but it is one more problem. What happens is that the Spanish government, the socialist government, is giving a coup d'état and then anything, anything, is good for them to talk about something else. It is giving an amnesty that yesterday they were told that it is a coup d'état, that it is illegal what they are doing, they are dynamiting the Spanish judiciary, but they prefer to look for pellets, which on some beaches is easier to find two euro coins than those pellets, those pellets that are the catastrophe. In that sense, the soft government of Galicia should devote much more to the defense of Galicia, its coasts and to fight against the 2030 Agenda, which is guilty of what is happening there.
Conclusions of the European Council meeting of 14-15 December 2023 and preparation of the Special European Council meeting of 1 February 2024 - Situation in Hungary and frozen EU funds (joint debate - European Council meetings)
I'll tell you something. We have seen how Mrs. Aubry has spoken for two and a half minutes. What about me? He won't let me go for ten seconds.
Conclusions of the European Council meeting of 14-15 December 2023 and preparation of the Special European Council meeting of 1 February 2024 - Situation in Hungary and frozen EU funds (joint debate - European Council meetings)
Mr President! First of all, I would say to the German Greens that they should not be so proud of this Kießling government that they have set up in Poland. Without the massive help of Germany and this Commission, this result would never have been achieved – firstly. Secondly: All of Germany was paralyzed, the government in Germany is broken, farmers across Europe are rebelling. Everyone is getting poorer, systematically poorer. The energy crisis is total. But here you just have to look at Orbán. Orbán is the one who helps Russia – no, the Germans have helped Russia a lot with their refusal to supply the necessary weapons. There is much more help for Putin than anywhere else. Hungary has ...
State of emergency in Ecuador (debate)
Mr. President, the situation of total destabilization of Ecuador has reached insufferable limits and, therefore, the new president, Daniel Noboa, is doing what he has to do: use all the resources of the state to defeat the policy of terror and territorial control of the alliance of organized crime and the subversive forces of narco-communism. Because behind all this use of chaos and terror there is a project, there is always a political project, and we must remember how criminal narco collectives were used in Venezuela and other countries such as Bolivia to intimidate society, with the same result. We have also seen it in Colombia. Ecuador is one of the few countries that, until now, had been freed, after the years of Correa, from all this plague of narco-socialism. The current moment is that of the reaction of Noboa to achieve stability, the security of the State and that we do not fall again into that correismo that was the one that fed for many years that alliance of organized crime with its totalitarian project.
Threat to rule of law as a consequence of the governmental agreement in Spain (debate)
Mr President, amnesty is unconstitutional, it is illegal, it has no place in our legal system. I don't say it, the far right doesn't say it, no, Pedro Sanchez said it. I quote again: "amnesty is illegal, it is unconstitutional, it has no place in our legal system" (Pedro Sánchez). His minister Grande-Marlaska, on November 4, 2019: ‘Amnesty is not recognised by the Spanish legal system’. Carmen Calvo, then Vice-President of Sánchez, on 27 April 2021: Do we propose amnesty? The only possible answer is that it is not questionable because it would be to suppress one of the three powers of the State. They were right, and they promised never to do so until they lost an election and their majority no longer reached them with communist extremists, ex-terrorists, coup plotters and embezzlers pardoned last legislature. But after the July 23 elections they lacked those votes and had to ask the criminal coup plotters up there, the escaped coup criminals who are there. And those have been given in secret negotiations outside Spain, negotiations for an amnesty, to continue deceiving the Spaniards. That yes lawfare or not lawfare. Now it turns out that there are some committees in Parliament that are going to control the judges and Mr Reynders does not know, apparently, that there are some committees that are going to terrify, to terrify the judges. That's what's happening in Spain, gentlemen. And that's a coup. That is precisely a coup d'état, with the criminals and with the coup plotters.
Humanitarian situation in Gaza, the need for the release of hostages and for an immediate humanitarian truce leading to a ceasefire and the prospects for peace and security in the Middle East (debate)
Mr. President, Golda Meir said that the war in Palestine, in Israel, would end when Palestinians love their children more than they hate Jews. That hasn't happened yet. We're a long way from it. We must also say that we have contributed to this, because we are financing books in the Palestinian territories that only foment hatred of Israel and that systematically foment the whole culture of terrorism. In Gaza, what happened on 7 October was celebrated with enthusiasm, and in the territories controlled by the Palestinian Authority, it was also celebrated with enthusiasm. The Palestinian Authority – which is presented here as stupendous in the face of Hamas – is also the one that continues to give prizes to terrorists for the Jews they kill. In that sense, Israel has the right to end this war by forever ending Hamas, with that threat. And here it seems that some do not want it to happen. It is going to happen and – regretting all the deaths, regretting all the misfortunes – we hope it will end, it has to end, with those guarantees that Israel will give to itself because we do not give them to it.
