War in the Gaza Strip and the need to reach a ceasefire, including recent developments in the region (debate)

Speeches
Mr. President, it's a shame. Yes, yes. It is a pity that Borrell is not here, because the same thing would have told us that we must disarm Israel or that we must mount a boycott of Israel, as they asked at the Berlinale this Sunday, which has become a kind of event like "the night of the broken crystals" in miniature. That's what we're seeing on the left: a phobia of Israel and some demonstrations that say that of "from the river to the sea", that is, that Israel disappears. These are the demonstrations that the left is promoting throughout Europe and especially, of course, in Spain, with members of the Government. I very much regretted that the European People's Party was aiming to change the title of this debate and to bring in the ceasefire and remove UNRWA. UNRWA, which some of us have known about for decades, is complicit in all the terrorists that have been in the Palestinian Territories and also, of course, Hamas, and is an organization that acts directly with them. But there's one fundamental thing about the ceasefire. There will be no ceasefire and there should be no ceasefire until Hamas is over, because Hamas puts everything in jeopardy and it cannot be started again. Hamas must end, all hostages must be released and then we talk about that ceasefire that should not be there and that has been put by the European People's Party, unfortunately.
Automated data exchange for police cooperation (“Prüm II”) (debate)

Speeches
Madam President, at the beginning of this parliamentary term we insisted that in order to protect the Schengen area, it was necessary to improve the mechanisms for police cooperation and reform the Euro-Order. There is no point in having an internal area without border controls if criminals are free to go about their business and there are no rules in place to prevent criminals from absconding or finding forums of convenience to evade law enforcement in the Member States. However, here we are again in one of those grotesque contradictions of the European Union, because Mr Puigdemont and his troops are still absconding from Spanish justice without the Euroorder having been worth anything. And they're not petty criminals. I remind you that Mr. Puigdemont is being investigated for terrorism, as endorsed yesterday by the Board of Prosecutors of the Supreme Court of Spain by a very large majority, in addition to his connections to arrive mercenary troops from Russia and support the coup in Catalonia in 2017. It is good that we improve the data exchange system to prevent and investigate crimes, but what about the euroorder?, Is it more important to exchange photos of the criminal or really exchange criminals to pay their guilt?
Need to fight the increase of antisemitism and anti-Muslim hatred (debate)
Date:
07.02.2024 17:34
| Language: ES
Speeches
Madam President, Commissioner, with all due respect, I believe that there is a trap already in the title here. Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia are presented as existing equally and being the same. That's a lie. There are two anti-Semitisms that make Europe again very dangerous for Jews. We import anti-Semitism with borders open to the illegal and uncontrolled entry of millions of Jew-haters. We have seen European cities full of Muslims calling for the extermination of Jews and the destruction of Israel. And there is the other anti-Semitism, which is the anti-Semitism of the left, disguised as anti-Zionism, with professional haters of Israel such as Pedro Sanchez, whom Hamas terrorists congratulate, or his minister Rego, who heads demonstrations calling for the disappearance of Israel. Islamophobia, on the other hand, is an invention of that same anti-Semitic left to intimidate Europeans and force them to accept the unacceptable with this invasion of a culture hostile to their way of life, of millions who do not come to integrate, but to a territorial conquest that has already begun. The rejection of invasive attitudes is not hatred of any ideology or religion, it is self-defense of those who are attacked and are not defended by their rulers.
Further repression against the democratic forces in Venezuela: attacks on presidential candidate Maria Corina Machado (debate)

Speeches
Mr. President, Communist criminal dictators do not abdicate. They don't go home voluntarily. Some dictators who have on their consciences not tens of thousands, but hundreds of thousands of dead, tortured, disappeared, and who have created a tragedy like the one created by Nicolás Maduro with all organized crime: those don't abdicate. Barbados was for them the same as it has been on previous occasions when they have teased the entire international community. And it seems untrue that there are still people here who say they had high hopes. There was no great hope. The only great hope there can be is that, now that they went wrong because they let Maria Corina run for those primaries and win them overwhelmingly, there is now outside pressure that hasn't been there before for all the complicity there was with Maduro. Because Maduro is there because of the complicity that has been with him, as the Cuban dictatorship is where it is because of the complicity that has been with it. Massive pressure from the European Union, massive pressure on the entire regime from the United States and the OAS. And that's it. And without that, there will never be anything in Venezuela. They will turn 65 like Cuba.
Russiagate: allegations of Russian interference in the democratic processes of the European Union (debate)

Speeches
Madam President, today we know that Latvian parliamentarian Tatiana Ždanoka is a spy for the FSB and Putin's secret services. She has also been very active in my homeland, in Spain. Today we know that, a few years before the criminal invasion of Ukraine, Putin participated in another brutal attack against a European country, this one a member of the Union and NATO: participated in a coup d'état in Spain, in the region of Catalonia. That separatist coup failed. The ringleader fled and, since that crime, he has shamed this House - usually sitting there, up there - with his presence. His name is Carlos Puigdemont. Today we know that Putin promised him mercenaries and money to destroy the continent's oldest nation, Spain. In return, he would get Russia's penetration of the European financial system and a bridgehead to make the clamp from the west with his subversive war against Europe. Now, Puigdemont is a protégé of Spain's head of government, Sanchez, who needs him to stay in power illegally. Ždanoka, spy for Russia; Puigdemont, high treason to Spain and Europe, and its impunity shows Europe's vulnerability.
Recent ecological catastrophe involving plastic pellet losses and its impact on micro plastic pollution in the maritime and coastal habitats (debate)

Speeches
Mr President, to clarify matters: on 18 February there are elections in Galicia. It is a Spanish region with a beautiful coast that has now had a spill of pellets, as they are having the coasts of Tarragona, in Catalonia, continuously and that do not make us have a meeting of these here. Quiet, that the title is absolutely wrong. There is no ecological catastrophe, there is a problem that must be solved, but it is one more problem. What happens is that the Spanish government, the socialist government, is giving a coup d'état and then anything, anything, is good for them to talk about something else. It is giving an amnesty that yesterday they were told that it is a coup d'état, that it is illegal what they are doing, they are dynamiting the Spanish judiciary, but they prefer to look for pellets, which on some beaches is easier to find two euro coins than those pellets, those pellets that are the catastrophe. In that sense, the soft government of Galicia should devote much more to the defense of Galicia, its coasts and to fight against the 2030 Agenda, which is guilty of what is happening there.

Mr President! First of all, I would say to the German Greens that they should not be so proud of this Kießling government that they have set up in Poland. Without the massive help of Germany and this Commission, this result would never have been achieved – firstly. Secondly: All of Germany was paralyzed, the government in Germany is broken, farmers across Europe are rebelling. Everyone is getting poorer, systematically poorer. The energy crisis is total. But here you just have to look at Orbán. Orbán is the one who helps Russia – no, the Germans have helped Russia a lot with their refusal to supply the necessary weapons. There is much more help for Putin than anywhere else. Hungary has ...
Mr. President, the situation of total destabilization of Ecuador has reached insufferable limits and, therefore, the new president, Daniel Noboa, is doing what he has to do: use all the resources of the state to defeat the policy of terror and territorial control of the alliance of organized crime and the subversive forces of narco-communism. Because behind all this use of chaos and terror there is a project, there is always a political project, and we must remember how criminal narco collectives were used in Venezuela and other countries such as Bolivia to intimidate society, with the same result. We have also seen it in Colombia. Ecuador is one of the few countries that, until now, had been freed, after the years of Correa, from all this plague of narco-socialism. The current moment is that of the reaction of Noboa to achieve stability, the security of the State and that we do not fall again into that correismo that was the one that fed for many years that alliance of organized crime with its totalitarian project.

Mr President, amnesty is unconstitutional, it is illegal, it has no place in our legal system. I don't say it, the far right doesn't say it, no, Pedro Sanchez said it. I quote again: "amnesty is illegal, it is unconstitutional, it has no place in our legal system" (Pedro Sánchez). His minister Grande-Marlaska, on November 4, 2019: ‘Amnesty is not recognised by the Spanish legal system’. Carmen Calvo, then Vice-President of Sánchez, on 27 April 2021: Do we propose amnesty? The only possible answer is that it is not questionable because it would be to suppress one of the three powers of the State. They were right, and they promised never to do so until they lost an election and their majority no longer reached them with communist extremists, ex-terrorists, coup plotters and embezzlers pardoned last legislature. But after the July 23 elections they lacked those votes and had to ask the criminal coup plotters up there, the escaped coup criminals who are there. And those have been given in secret negotiations outside Spain, negotiations for an amnesty, to continue deceiving the Spaniards. That yes lawfare or not lawfare. Now it turns out that there are some committees in Parliament that are going to control the judges and Mr Reynders does not know, apparently, that there are some committees that are going to terrify, to terrify the judges. That's what's happening in Spain, gentlemen. And that's a coup. That is precisely a coup d'état, with the criminals and with the coup plotters.

Mr. President, Golda Meir said that the war in Palestine, in Israel, would end when Palestinians love their children more than they hate Jews. That hasn't happened yet. We're a long way from it. We must also say that we have contributed to this, because we are financing books in the Palestinian territories that only foment hatred of Israel and that systematically foment the whole culture of terrorism. In Gaza, what happened on 7 October was celebrated with enthusiasm, and in the territories controlled by the Palestinian Authority, it was also celebrated with enthusiasm. The Palestinian Authority – which is presented here as stupendous in the face of Hamas – is also the one that continues to give prizes to terrorists for the Jews they kill. In that sense, Israel has the right to end this war by forever ending Hamas, with that threat. And here it seems that some do not want it to happen. It is going to happen and – regretting all the deaths, regretting all the misfortunes – we hope it will end, it has to end, with those guarantees that Israel will give to itself because we do not give them to it.

Speeches
Madam President, do you know that there is a government in Europe in which Hamas is openly supported? That government exists. That government is the Spanish government of socialists and communists, where pro-Hamas ministers have been parading through the streets of Madrid and Spain. Across Europe, many forces have been manifesting, not just foreign ones, not just those millions that we have brought - many of them sworn enemies of our Western society - and that we have imported, that anti-Semitism that we have imported into all of Europe and that we have at this very active moment, so cruelly active. That's happening here. This is a war against the West. Israel is the stronghold of the West. If Israel, which knows how to defend, falls, where will we end up, who do not know how to defend ourselves and are permanently opening the doors to the enemy and treating the enemy – the enemies within the dictatorships and outside them – as we are treating them?
Madam President, the geopolitical Europe we are looking for faces very clear adversaries who know what they want. And here we have a geopolitical Europe that doesn't know it. And when proposals come out, proposals come out here praising Mrs. von der Leyen and saying that she is the solution and that is the way. I believe that the way is clear, the way is that there will never again be a Franco-German axis that dictates politics here for its interests, because they have led us to disaster and they have led us to vulnerability and they have also led us, through the ideological drift that we have here and that they have in the United States, to an absolutely incredible vulnerability within societies. We have opened the borders without any control. It is happening every day, thousands and thousands of individuals are coming in from certain parts of the world where they are worshipping and celebrating what has been done, the savages against Israel, against the representative of our world in the Middle East – to see if we recognize it – and we are leaving them and they are celebrating it already in the Spanish capitals, in the European capitals in general; and in Spain it is being celebrated by the Government, part of the Government at least. At least, in that sense, to see if we have that solidity that we need to make a policy or a geopolitics against Russia, against China and against Iran, which is the axis of evil against us, against our values. And we have to do it with the United States and with Ibero-America. Let's see if we do it with democracies and with whom we share our values and do not do anti-American politics when we have been flirting, and doing politics to sabotage Washington, helping Tehran. And there we have Tehran doing what it is doing. Therefore, let us reconsider, and never again, the Franco-German axis that has brought us here, to dependence on Russia and everything that has happened since.

Speeches
Mr President, Mr Minister, Mr High Representative, we have witnessed the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. That's sparked a war. And now some are complaining about the effects of the war. They blame the Jews. And on top of that they blatantly lie in this House, once again, to accuse Israel of what others have done, as is the case, at this time, of the hospital. What happened in Gaza? In Gaza there is not a Jew, there is not a settlement, there is not a Jewish soldier for twenty years. There the Palestinians rule. There billions and billions were sent from Europe and the United States to build that. Something good could have been done there. They have a border with Egypt, with their Muslim brothers. They have done nothing but a pit of hatred, weapons and destruction. That's what's been there. And, in the meantime, we are seeing the same thing happening to us in Europe. We are with open borders, bringing all those who support Hamas. They are even supported by a government, which is yours, Minister. We have a large part of your government supporting those who defend the massacres against Jews. It is an embarrassment to the Spanish government and it is an embarrassment to Europe.
Mr President, Commissioner, we all very much agree - I think there is a fairly broad consensus in this House - that these sanctions are necessary. It is necessary to avoid escapes and fissures in these sanctions and it is necessary to reinforce them until Russia gives in and, if the necessary weapons are really given to the Ukrainians, they manage to recover their territory. Now, there has been a lot of talk here about Orbán and China as buyers from Russia. But I want to talk here about the current Presidency. The country that bought the most oil from Russia in August was Spain, after China. 18% of Russia's oil sales go to Spain directly; 20% to China, the largest buyer. In that sense, let's see if we really stop so much rhetoric and go to the practical issues. Spain is not setting an example precisely in this Presidency. He has now stood out for solidarity with Hamas and now goes and beats records buying oil from Russia.
Mr President, yesterday something very serious happened in this Parliament. A Spanish socialist, Javi López, abused a false point of order to attack me personally and ask for gags. That socialist asked for nothing less than legal measures against me for a few phrases, all true and defensible: Allende was not killed by the military. Allende was preparing a communist dictatorship. And Allende was held back when he had destroyed democracy. The serious thing is not that the left hates the truth. This is from El País, this is from El País, which is now a pamphlet of yours: Chilean justice confirms that Salvador Allende committed suicide. The Supreme Court confirms that the former president committed suicide during the 1973 coup d'état. El País. El País. Or that Lopez lies. The serious... (the Chair took the floor from the speaker).
50 years since the murder of Allende and the Coup in Chile: democracy and sovereignty (debate)

Speeches
Madam President, we have started with the lie, with the lie of murder, which has been repeated. Salvador Allende was not killed. Salvador Allende killed himself. And the other lie. I heard she was a feminist. Feminist? He was a womanizer, notary. A womanizer who ridiculed his wife to the point of boredom. Tired of it. To public and continuing ridicule of his wife. That said, Mr Borrell, Pinochet's dictatorship lasted 16 years and left a country that, as everyone has said, is a flourishing democracy. Cuba has been in misery for 64 years. You spoke of 3,000 dead in Chile, how many dead have we been in Cuba? How many dead have we been in Venezuela in 20 years? And there you are protecting those regimes and crying over a dictatorship that left a country in motion, did not leave a country in ruins. He took a country in ruins. Because if you see how Chile was with Allende, how they were occupying, how they were killing, how they were usurping, how they were entering the factories and taking and kidnapping the foremen and kidnapping the owners and killing the people. And you have Frei's letters. And you have the letters from the Supreme Court. And you have the common letter of the Senate and the Congress seeing what that ruin was. And lying is the worst thing, your permanent persistence in lying, Mr. Borrell.
New Agenda for Latin America and the Caribbean in the aftermath of the EU-CELAC Summit (debate)

| Language: ES
Speeches
Mr President, Mr High Representative, after so many compliments you receive from the Socialists and Communists, I have to say that it has seemed to me that this Summit of the European Union and CELAC has been an immense fiasco. It has been an immense fiasco, because you have no results, because you have brought here a number of countries and contradict yourself. You say that we have to have a communion of values because without these common democratic values neither development nor well-being work. Prosperity doesn't work. And you have brought here all the narco-communist regimes, torture regimes, murderous regimes, and you have brought them and mixed them with everyone, as if we were all the same and had the same values. And all he has done is whitewash, whitewash these regimes, as he was saying right now, reminding Chile that, by the way, we now have a session that starts with a lie. 'The murder of Allende' puts in this Parliament, lying even in what they print. Allende's murder. No one killed Allende. Allende was preparing a dictatorship like the Cuban one, like the one you protect as you protect, huh? And that stopped. And the prosperity of Cuba, the prosperity of Chile is the prosperity of Chile. (the Chair took the floor from the speaker).
Madam President, in a dictatorship there are no free elections, in order for there to be free elections, the dictatorship must end. But no one can expect them today in Cuba, or in Nicaragua. Well, not in Venezuela either. But as everyone wants to do business with a dictatorship, which has settled thanks to terror, in oil Venezuela, conditions are invented that do not exist for those who play opposition, their collaborators and other stakeholders to measure. In that framework, a space of freedom has been created unexpectedly and a figure has emerged, María Corina Machado, the only charismatic, who has demonstrated in five years of harassment an unconditional firmness in the face of the greatest murderer in America, which is the dictator Maduro. Now Maduro has closed the space with the disqualification of María Corina as before, demonstrating what we already knew: tyranny excludes free elections. The CELAC summit begins on Monday. Maduro was as invited as the tyrant Diaz-Canel, but he does not dare to come to Europe. But he insults us by sending Delcy Rodriguez, another criminal who is banned from entering the European Union. Is there a greater affront? I'm sure you will. The CELAC summit, with so many important issues, really pending, turned into a ceremony of laundering dictatorships. Sad farewell to Borrell, who enters his final months in office from failure to failure.
Delivering on the Green Deal: risk of compromising the EU path to the green transition and its international commitments (debate)

Speeches
Madam President, Commissioner, this is a Green Deal that they say is going slowly. The Green Deal is really an ideological plan of social engineering against the interests of the European peoples. The European peoples are already suffering severely from the effects of this Green Deal. The totalitarian arrogance of these ideologues who from here want to impose rhythms and conditions on people who are not prepared, who cannot - and many of those conditions are absolutely and clearly negative - is a real drama and disallows this Parliament. Today is a day of disgrace, because this law of restoration, which simply shows that there are ideological and material interests – also material – that are totally contrary to those of the European peoples, will lead us to misery and the disappearance of the primary sector in Europe. And that's apparently what you want. In Europe we really need to get back to common sense, and June 2024 is going to be when the peoples of Europe, the interests of Europe, are going to rise up against this green delusion of the Pact and the restoration of nature.

Speeches
Madam President, first I would like to say to my friend Javi López that everything he has been listing about Nicaragua can be applied exactly the same to Cuba and yet he wants to punish Nicaragua and with Cuba he wants to talk about modernisation, like Mr Borrell, who tells us that there are reforms and modernisation. The reforms that have taken place are that there are a number of minors who have been sentenced to ten years in prison for shouting freedom. That is the modernization that has taken place in Cuba lately and for which we are rewarding with money, with millions of euros that Mr Borrell is taking to him, despite a resolution by this Parliament that told him that the democratic clause of the Agreement had to be applied and that payments and the Agreement had to be suspended. There hasn't been any of that. On the contrary: He has gone to Cuba to act again as a lawyer for the Cuban dictatorship asking for the lifting of that ghostly embargo. That's what he's done: propaganda for the dictatorship. That's why I say to him: You can't be a representative of 27 democracies and be all day defending a dictatorship. You resign, Mr. Borrell, for real, or go to Cuba to defend that criminal dictatorship.
Mr President, this is the fourth resolution that we have brought to this House in a year and a half to confirm the deterioration of the political and social situation in Nicaragua. The Nicaraguan people, besieged by poverty, brutal repression, the curtailment of their freedoms and the persecution of ecclesiastical representatives by the regime, are already worthy of a Nero or a Domitian. The dictatorial marriage of Ortega and Murillo – right, right, Mr Borrell – who are at the moment the great stars of political crime, has been sponsoring the systematic violation of human rights from the Sandinista power for years. Today, the United Nations classifies the actions of its regime as crimes against humanity. Well, now let's see: Where does the Sandinista regime come from? It comes from the help of the socialists and the help of Cuba. It has been Cuba that has created Nicaragua and it is the São Paulo Forum that supports Nicaragua and has ties with Russia, as does Cuba. Why is Mr. Borrell going to Cuba to guarantee Cuba that we will continue to give him millions? Millions for nothing, for violating human rights, just like Nicaragua, and now it is telling us that Nicaragua must be punished. Please, a little coherence, Mr. Borrell.
Protecting and restoring marine ecosystems for sustainable and resilient fisheries - Agreement of the IGC on Marine Biodiversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (High Seas Treaty) (debate)

| Language: ES
Speeches
Mr President, we have seen how every so often the European Commission comes to tell us that we have to protect the seas, that we have to respect biodiversity and that we have to respect ecosystems, but no one ever comes to tell us that we have to respect fishermen, that we have to respect their families, that we have to respect the population and that we have to respect, in general, Europeans, from whom their livelihoods are being taken one after another. Spain is not understood without sea. We have eight thousand kilometers of coastline. Spain put the seas on the map of the world. Spain has the largest fishing industry in the Union, 20% of total production. That is why we are the first interested and really busy protecting this resource. Seas and biodiversity matter to us very, very much. But we care a lot and a lot about fishermen, we care a lot and a lot about farmers and we care a lot and a lot about Spaniards and Europeans in general, who are constantly attacked by these issues, always motivated by the ideology of the most radical, which the Commission has systematically taken on board. You are again attacking Europe's fishing while China subsidizes and strengthens its fishing fleet and also uses it as a geopolitical weapon, while illegal Moroccan fishing continues to use driftnets, curtains of death, despite the millions that were paid so that it did not use them. In fishing as in agriculture they subsidize Morocco so that it continues to laugh at you, who deserve it, and at millions of Europeans, who do not deserve it. In reality, they should give up the 2030 Agenda and the Green Deal, which is what is leading us to this lack of respect for Europeans in general.
IPCC report on Climate Change: a call for urgent additional action (debate)
Date:
20.04.2023 09:34
| Language: ES
Speeches
Mr President, all the forces which base their political project on purely socialist social engineering must justify their policy with terrible threats of imminent, ever more imminent and ever greater catastrophes. That's what the IPCC and its scientists do. It was also scientists who said that Mrs. von der Leyen's Pfizer vaccines were so safe and effective, and were neither. It stands to reason that they are now demanding of European nations, of all Europeans who are not part of those elites who are reunited with their jets in Davos, who renounce their freedom and their well-being, their habits, their rights and their property, supposedly to save the planet. No longer is the promise of the paradise of the Bolshevik Revolution, of social justice or of things that no one believes in this century. However, there are all the parties - from the EPP Group to the far left and the Greens/EFA Group, worth the redundancy - who, from the consensus, now use the end of the world to force everyone to do what they would refuse to do under normal conditions. This whole report tells us about the need for Europeans to give up growth and assume impoverishment for all but some. Because the average temperature of the last twenty years is a degree higher than the average between 1850 and 1900. The fact is that the immense sacrifices they urgently demand of Europeans will make them poorer, but they will not make the world any safer. This is an ideological project to demand the total submission of the population through a total reduction of rights and their quality of life.
Repression in Russia, in particular the cases of Vladimir Kara-Murza and Alexei Navalny

Speeches
Madam President, I am very happy to be in full agreement with Mr Verhofstadt today. Once again Russia is condemned to have its best children in prison and its worst bandits in the palaces of power. Once again the Russians are condemned to ignore all their rights as people. Again the Russians are condemned to die by the whims of a tyrant. Again, as in 1937, Russians who tell the truth disappear from their homes. The sick who are now in the dungeons are not Mandelshtam, Bábel, Solyenitsin or Sakharov, but Vladimir Kara-Murza and Alexei Navalni. They are again the heroes, the best of Russia. It is not German or Ukrainian Nazis who threaten, mistreat, imprison and lead to the death of Russians; He's a tyrant again. History will condemn him and admire the heroes, but we have to take action. In this sense, we have the EU Magnitsky Act, which can be applied immediately to very specific people.
