EU-Russia relations, European security and Russia’s military threat against Ukraine (continuation of debate)
Today you are talking about a "possible conflict in Ukraine". This conflict has been going on for 8 years and is consuming more innocent victims. A large part of Europe, however, pretends not to see it. Since the attack on Georgia in 2008, we have been observing the imperialist policy of Putin's Russia. "We know very well that today Georgia, tomorrow Ukraine, the day after tomorrow the Baltic States, and then maybe it's time for my country, Poland!" warned the late President of the Republic of Moldova in Tbilisi during the invasion of Georgia. Lech Kaczyński, then President of the Republic of Poland. Thanks to the strong reaction of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, it was possible to stop the bloodshed in the Caucasus. However, the peace did not last long, in 2014 Russia went a step further, causing an armed conflict in Ukraine, which continues to this day! At that time, the strong reaction of the leaders of the West was lacking. Oh, yeah! The annexation of Crimea and the war in Donbas, which killed several thousand citizens, did not prevent the construction of the German-Russian NordStream 2 gas pipeline (which not only bypasses Ukraine), condemning it to Russian gas blackmail. This is what European solidarity looks like in practice. We will not stop Putin by sending him billions more to arm himself against us and our allies! Let us listen again today to the words of President Kaczynski, who, like few people, was aware of how unpredictable and ruthless an opponent we are dealing with. Let us support Ukraine, let us be together, let us be solidary and firm!
