Threat to democracy and the rule of law in Poland, in particular through the creation of an investigative committee (debate)
Mr President, thank you very much. Well, I'm not surprised that you want to ban the activities of the commission for the study of Russian influence in Poland, because you know very well that here such a commission would be even more useful. After the attack on Ukraine in 2014 and the annexation of Crimea, when Ursula von der Leyen was still Germany's defence minister, you continued doing business with Russia, selling weapons to Putin, building Nord Stream. Putin has corrupted your politicians. The Kremlin's payroll includes, among others, the former German Chancellor, the prime ministers of France and Austria. In addition, Russia has paid 20 million euros to the foundation of the Prime Minister of Germany Mecklenburg, and now another billion are coming to light, with which Putin has subsidized your favorite environmental organizations. You know that your support for Putin is the biggest scandal in Europe. That is why you are trying to hide it and defend Tusk so that people will not hear why he has written off debts to Gazprom, sent members of the Polish election commission to training in Moscow, wanted to sell them key Polish companies and did briefings for Polish ambassadors for Lavrov. In addition, he separated visits to Smolensk, and as it ended, we all remember very well. You would like your people not to be held accountable for Russian rudeness, and all of them to fall ill with collective amnesia.
Breaches of the Rule of law and fundamental rights in Hungary and frozen EU funds (debate)
Mr President, thank you very much. Mr. Commissioner, I'm sorry. I am opposed to Hungary's cooperation with Russia. However, if you were to judge for this, many of you would get the highest sentences, with the German and French governments at the forefront. So what's really going on? You say Orban is taking over the media, the universities, the culture, the justice system, and that's wrong. And why? Because it takes over from you, from what is left of left-wing governments and is common in most left-liberal states in Europe. So you're banning him from practices that you're painfully using yourself. Anything that is not your idea is a violation of the rule of law. Other views are hate speech. Defending children in schools from the practices that your journalist Abigail Shrier has so perfectly studied and described in her book is ideologically contrary to European values. That is to say, the defence of children is contrary to European values. And finally, we have to ask ourselves a question. What kind of democracy is this at all, where you can impose everything against their will, not on Orban, but on Hungary. Because you know very well that the majority of Hungarian society supports Orban's policy. Do you want to be the commissars who will do everything you can for Hungarians? This is not a democracy, this is a dictatorship.
Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence – EU accession: institutions and public administration of the Union - Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence - EU accession: judicial cooperation in criminal matters, asylum and non-refoulement (debate)
Madam President, I'm sorry. Commissioner, I'm sorry. Well, there are a lot of necessary provisions in the Convention, and if only they remained, the document could be adopted unanimously and probably would have a chance to be effective. On the other hand, no. You have to put into every document, even the most needed one, you have to push the ideology. It is, of course, about forcing everyone to recognise gender. There's no such thing. There is no gender, only biological sex. Encouraging children to change sex has already ended in many irreversible tragedies, like David, who committed suicide, when the forerunner of this trend, Dr. Money, encouraged him to change sex with exactly the same justification as you, that it is not biology, and culture that determines who is a boy and who is a girl. For women, too, this ideology ends in tragedy. It destroys their efforts in sports, depriving them of the chances of well-deserved medals in unequal competition with men. In addition, it becomes a tool for smart people entering intimate places for women and girls in this way. The push for this ideology is intended to destroy traditional oases of identity: from gender, patriotism, the Church to the nation-state. Oases, which, as your data shows, are the most effective defense against violence in the countries where they are the strongest. And where there are no longer traditional communities, violence rages.
The need for a coherent strategy for EU-China Relations (debate)
Mr President, thank you very much. Ladies and Gentlemen, Commissioner! President Macron signed an agreement in China and spoke about Europe's strategic autonomy. Meanwhile, you have been building Europe's strategic autonomy for years with Russia against Poland. And at the time of the crisis and the outbreak of war, you left Europe helpless, helpless militarily, energetically and economically weaker. And today President Macron goes to China and says more of the same and about pushing the United States out of Europe. I wonder what Europe, and Ukraine in particular, would do without the United States and without Poland. It would have fallen a long time ago and would have stayed with your pathetic helmets and energy-saving light bulbs, which the Ukrainians could at most throw at the Russians. And, of course, with long tables with Putin. And I no longer count on the reflection of Germany or France, on their ideas and selfishness of autonomy. Ideas for Europe's autonomy have already cost the continent too much on many occasions. I appeal to you, leaders of Central and Eastern Europe: If you do not wake up, the Chinese and Russians will soon organize autonomy for you.
2022 Rule of Law Report - The rule of law situation in the European Union - Rule of law in Greece - Rule of law in Spain - Rule of law in Malta (debate)
Mr President, thank you very much. Do you want to increase funding for raising awareness of the values of the European Union? I support this claim because people should know what values you really profess. Value number one – double standards. Well, you want to punish Poland with sanctions, because it supposedly has a politicized way of choosing judges. Meanwhile, judges are elected in Poland the same way as in Spain or Germany. But there you can, there you can't. Value number two – racism. Well, you explain this way of proceeding (you can see even in this resolution) the famous opinion of the Venice Commission, according to which the same solutions exist in different countries, but there are countries that can and those that can not, especially those countries where there is a higher culture and traditions. Does Germany have a higher culture than Poland? This is the classic definition of racism. Value number three – contempt for citizens. You are not interested in the opinion of the majority, because most Poles have already said what they think eight times. But you don't care, because you despise them and despise their opinion. Value number four – censorship. How is the rule of law in culture? It is in Europe that you censor the books of Agatha Christie, Roald Dahl or even Charles May. Value number five – reversal of concepts. In your opinion, the most important are the rights of minorities, which you understand as LGBTIQ, etc. Meanwhile, the representatives of this option in this House have long been the majority and do not respect the rights of the real minority: a minority that adheres to traditional family values, the right to life or political rights to perform various functions. So double standards, racism, censorship are not European values, it is communism, and you profess communism.
Energy performance of buildings (recast) (debate)
Madam President, I'm sorry. Well, in recent years you have been telling everyone that you need to bet on gas and it will be cheaper, greener and safer. And what? It is less environmentally friendly, more expensive and less safe. And then, instead of drawing conclusions, you show that ideological shoe of yours. And now, as of 2027, everyone in the European Union is to pay the ETS tax on buildings, i.e. an artificial ideological tax, the costs of buying housing and maintaining it will increase. And your ideological hump will be paid for by the poorest people who cannot afford super modern real estate, such as the Poles, who, of course, would live at your level if the Germans paid us war reparations. In addition, today you want to ban boilers consuming fossil fuels for new homes until 2028, and then for everyone, including gas furnaces, which you just ordered to be installed as ecological, because there was Nord Stream and the Germans made a lot of money from it. Poles have already installed over a million such furnaces and now they are to switch to heat pumps, because you just stopped running gas in Nord Stream. The cost of installing a heat pump is greater than the annual earnings of most Poles. In addition, the climate here is different and we will pay much more than you, plus, of course, the cost of bureaucracy, these certificates. This is madness, this is madness what you want to do. It's insane.
EU funding allocated to NGOs incriminated in the recent corruption revelations and the protection of EU financial interests (debate)
Madam President, I'm sorry. Mr. Commissioner, I'm sorry. You say that the fact that, as a Union, you have funded an organisation that is a money launderer for Qatari corruption is just a case from which you draw conclusions. Well, no, it's not. It's just a natural consequence of the world you've created. A world in which you cultivate your own adoration on the one hand and hatred of people and democracy on the other. You steal people's sovereignty and their rights quietly and ruthlessly. Because when you put the changes to the treaties to a referendum, you lost to the creed. Remember the Constitution for Europe? Instead of listening to people, do you want to change governments by force? Professor Józef Gerliński wrote in his book Auschwitz the Fighter: To survive this hell, you had to have two things. A strong faith in God and the love of someone close to us awaiting our return. You want to kill God, but you only love yourself. Definitely not your neighbor, since you are introducing euthanasia and abortion on demand. You want to kill people against their will, depriving them of their dignity, because they can disturb the supposed comfort of your life. You support social media censorship and ostracism for those who think differently. You hate Europe and its traditions, so you are happy to let in people who want to destroy it, and you are attacking freedom, Christianity, the traditional family and all the states that support it. And it was enough for the organization to come and tell you that the most important thing for it is the fight for the rule of law in Poland, and you have already given it millions, without seeing how it destroyed the rule of law itself. So there is no case in what happened, because corruption, Russia, war or the destruction of the rule of law do not bother you as much as tradition and its defenders.
Protecting the Rule of Law against impunity in Spain (topical debate)
Madam President, I'm sorry. Mr. Commissioner, I'm sorry. Well, the Spanish government, like the typical left, does exactly the opposite, as it says. For years, he has been attacking Poland for electing the Council for the Judiciary by politicians, even though he does exactly the same thing, in exactly the same way. Moreover, they have just appointed their politicians, including the Minister of Justice, as judges. Your justice system, dear Spaniards, like the German one, is the most politicized in all of Europe. Only, of course, the Commissioner pretends not to see it. By the way, it is very funny that you yourself have repeatedly made resolutions in this House – and this applies to both the EPP and the left – that politicians should not elect judges. Then you come to your country, and no matter who's in charge, you do exactly that. You say that the most important thing is gender and women's defence. How many times have we heard it here from that rostrum? Then you adopt an amendment to the criminal code that lowers penalties for sexual offenses, almost 200 rapists come out, and women are now in greater danger. Do you want a Europe where the left and communists can lie with impunity, feed rapists and destroy the rule of law? And to say that they do all this in the name of truth, justice and the rule of law. Typical of the left. Darkest under the lighthouse.
New developments in allegations of corruption and foreign interference, including those related to Morocco, and the need to increase transparency, integrity and accountability in the European institutions (debate)
Madam President, I'm sorry. Commissioner, I'm sorry. Ladies and Gentlemen, for the last years we have dealt mainly with Poland, which has shown, by the way, what the rule of law is. See how the Poles behaved towards Ukraine. You have to ask yourself, wasn't it a smokescreen to do all this business with Qatar? Because now don't pretend that this only applies to a few people, because one of the organizations, by the way, No Peace without Justice, whose secretary is arrested for corruption, is funded by who? European Union, France and Germany. Strangely enough, this organization was engaged in attacking Poland, perhaps to divert attention and so that you could do your own business. Moreover, corruption is political corruption. This has led Europe today to the situation we are in. There are socialists, of whom Gerhard Schröder, the greatest symbol of political corruption, corrupted by Putin, is still a member. You don't do anything about it, and here you'll be teaching everyone. First, look in the mirror and fix it. It would be very good for you to answer, what about the financing of this organization by Germany? That's the key.
Defending the European Union against the abuse of national vetoes (debate)
Mr President, thank you very much. Mr. Commissioner, I'm sorry. You condemn the abuse, as you say, of the national veto, which, after all, is a right enshrined in the treaties. You're just getting in the way of treaties. You're bothered by the law. You would like to do everything with dull force. That's how you are a democratic body. What's more, you divide the vetoes for the better and for the worse, by nationality. Poland cannot, but the Netherlands and Austria are already better vetoes, as recently in the case of Schengen. What is it if not racism? Exactly the same as the rule of law. There are countries where politicians can elect judges, and there are countries where they can't. What is it if not racism? And what does that lead to? Are you saying that most people are always right? And was the majority right about Nord Stream and Europe's dependence on gas? Was most of them right then? And was the majority right when most countries sold arms and ammunition to Russia? Was most of them right then? But is it a minority? But is it better to have a right of veto in such matters? Therefore, Ladies and Gentlemen, if you really care about the rule of law and the treaties, start with the fact that you will start to abide by these treaties. And then it'll be better for everyone.
Tackle the cost of living crisis: increase pay, tax profits, stop speculation (topical debate)
Madam President, I'm sorry. Mr. Commissioner, I'm sorry. You want to fight the causes of high living costs and inflation – very well. I think you should start by looking in the mirror. What is the most important component of inflation? High energy prices. And where did they come from? Where did high energy prices come from? The fact that for years you have forced everyone with an absurd right to give up coal and to bet on gas. And what happened suddenly? Putin screwed you up and he's gone. Inflation has skyrocketed and coal must be imported from exotic countries, despite the fact that we have a lot of it in Europe, especially there is a lot of it in Poland. But instead of thinking how wiser they were telling you that this would be the end of your dependence on Putin, you were busy with something else, namely looking for an alleged violation of the rule of law in Poland. And you searched so hard for this violation of the rule of law in Poland that you did not notice the Qatari bags in your own ranks. This is how this procedure ends. And instead of learning from what you've been doing, you're still doing the same thing. It is the Netherlands – Commissioner, this is something for you – it is the Netherlands: dozens of new redundancies for Russian companies. What are you guys doing with this? And aid to the German economy, 200 billion, why is it agreed? How is that supposed to help? Is this going to help fight inflation? What are these double standards? And you continue to block aid for Poland, without which Ukraine would have collapsed long ago. Is this how you want to get the EU out of the crisis? This is the way to nowhere. You continue to do the same and hope for other results.
Assessment of Hungary's compliance with the rule of law conditions under the Conditionality Regulation and state of play of the Hungarian RRP (debate)
Madam President, I'm sorry. Mr. Commissioner, I'm sorry. As usual, Hungary is the target of your attacks. But you have to think about why. Does democracy in Hungary look worse than in Germany, where it was just necessary to repeat the elections due to so many frauds? Did something like this happen in Hungary? Is it worse than in Slovenia or Slovakia or Malta, where journalists were murdered? And after all these years, there are still no convincing explanations in this matter? Are universities and the media more subordinate than the left-wing ones in your country, where, if you think differently, a person is immediately ‘channeled’? Finally, let us say frankly that the real problem in the case of Hungary is, ladies and gentlemen, that it defends religion, the traditional values on which Western civilization was built. They defend children against demoralisation and nations against a European state in which democracy will look exactly as we see it in this House. That is, Hungarians will not be able to choose their own power, they will have nothing to say. Only the European administration here will tell in advance in which countries who can govern, without any elections and without the will of the peoples. This is your democracy, this is the new democracy, ladies and gentlemen, and that is why we have to be tough against it. In the name of democracy and the rule of law.
Racial justice, non-discrimination and anti-racism in the EU (debate)
Mr President, thank you very much. As usual, Ladies and Gentlemen, in your report on the fight against discrimination, you promote real discrimination among many valid demands. Namely, with reference to the Rule of Law Report – alleged – where, as you know very well, it is explicitly stated that what some countries can do in the administration of justice, others cannot. You write why – because they have a worse culture and traditions. What is it if not racism? What is it if not racism? And the financial discrimination of the whole nation, Poland, on imaginary charges, just because people choose differently there? That people are more conservative, they defend traditional values, they defend God, religious freedom, the true definition of gender? That is the only reason they are discriminated against. Ladies and gentlemen, if you want to fight real discrimination, then attacking the nation for other views is an absolute and fulfilling definition. Therefore, before you condemn others, it is worth paying attention to yourself first.
Whitewashing of the anti-European extreme right in the EU (topical debate)
Mr President, thank you very much. Commissioner, I'm sorry. Let's find out the facts first. Which ideology has claimed the most victims in the history of the world? This ideology was communism. Communism, which I understand does not bother you, because it is full of people who appeal to this ideology, including, as I understand, also in the coalition government in Spain. And that doesn't bother you at all. Let us recall what communism was and what values it was based on: on the fight against God and Christianity, on the fight against the family, on the fight against freedom and on the fight against the true foundations of Europeanism, which have been three for over two thousand years: Greek philosophy, Roman law, Christianity. On this was built peace in Europe, the greatest works of art, architecture, philosophy, the universal education system, the first constitution in Europe, which was created in Catholic Poland. Schuman adhered to the values you so often refer to. And today, if he came here to this parliament, he probably wouldn't be able to hold any office. Because this is democracy in you, that if in Sweden you win someone who you don't like, then there is no democracy. Because what? Similarly, in Spain, if someone who you don't like wins, if someone who you don't like wins in Italy, then there is no democracy. Because true democracy for you is only when the left wins. It is not, ladies and gentlemen, a democracy, it is a dictatorship. The same is true of this rule of law criterion. In Poland there are the same solutions as in other countries. It only bothers you, because you say ‘maybe they are, but they have a worse culture and tradition’. These are the racist views that have led to all the wars in Europe. Don't go down that road. The real democracy is that you listen to the people, and you don't imagine that only you will decide who will really rule in each country.
Impact of Russian invasion of Ukraine on migration flows to the EU (debate)
Mr President, thank you very much. Commissioner, I'm sorry. Ladies and Gentlemen, let's be clear: there is one country in the European Union that, from start to finish, stands firmly on Ukraine's side and takes on the biggest burden of aid. And this country is Poland. Since the beginning of Russia’s aggression on 24 February, the Polish-Ukrainian border has been crossed by 7 million refugees from Ukraine, the Border Guard reports. According to the guards, they are mainly women and children. According to the OECD, the basic living costs of refugees from Ukraine in Poland will exceed 40 billion in 2022 alone. This is a record in Europe. But that's not all. This cost will have to be multiplied many times. Poland will spend almost PLN 1 billion on the education of Ukrainians, and the cost of medical care for refugees from Ukraine in Poland is PLN 200 million per month – per month! Not to mention the individual costs incurred by Poles who made their homes available to them. Poland is the most important backbone of Ukraine: logistics, military, food, economic. Without Poland, Ukraine would not have succeeded. And what are you doing? You say that you are for Ukraine, you have glued ribbons here and you are imposing sanctions on Poland. Not only did you give almost nothing to Poland to help the Ukrainians, you also took almost 160 billion from the NRRP, and now you are blocking funds from the Cohesion Fund. All in all, these are bigger sanctions than you have imposed on Russia. So stop going into the lectern and saying that poor women, poor children from Ukraine, just give them the means – what they really need. Otherwise, you're helping Putin. He also prefers infinite vocabulary to real resources for Poland and Ukrainians.
The Rule of Law in Malta, five years after the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia (debate)
Madam President, I'm sorry. Mr. Commissioner, I'm sorry. First of all, we must pay tribute to the murdered journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia and her family. She died because of her subjects, including corruption in the socialist government of Joseph Muscat. She deserves a great deal of respect. She dealt with corruption, tax fraud, money laundering. Importantly, the proceedings, despite the passage of years, did not lead to the conviction of any principals, politicians, as well as to the real settlement of the scandals described by Daphne, which were the direct cause of ordering her murder. In addition, the family of the murdered is still subject to some kind of harassment, whether forensic or otherwise. We fully support media freedom and strongly condemn any unlawful actions aimed at exerting pressure on journalists or media freedom. That is why we continue to be outraged by the impunity enjoyed by key figures in the former prime minister's administration, including the prime minister himself, his chiefs of staff, ministers and others in the administration. We believe that all persons, regardless of affiliation and political status, should be equal before the law. Therefore, the question is: Perhaps it is time to start, Commissioner, Article 7 on Malta? Was there a journalist killed in Poland or Hungary who dealt with political corruption? Did a journalist die at all? What are these double standards? The same unsolved cases of the murder of Ján Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kušnírová, or Victoria Marinova, or a Greek journalist. Where are their principals, those involved in the case, held accountable? What are these double standards? If we really want to defend, if you want to defend the rule of law, there will be no rule of law in the European Union when journalists are not protected. It's time to protect journalists. It's time for real action. Article 7. Mr. Commissioner, I'm sorry.
Countering the anti-European and anti-Ukrainian propaganda of Putin’s European cronies (topical debate)
Mr President, thank you very much. Mr. Commissioner, I'm sorry. You are looking for Putin's friends, as usual, in the right. I suggest you look in the mirror first. How did Putin justify the use of nuclear weapons in his recent speech? You know how? He said the United States had attacked Nord Stream. And how did he know that? He knew from your deputy Radosław Sikorski. What did you do about it? What's more, the funny thing is how the left is looking everywhere for Putin's collaborators, and it has Gerhard Schröder and three Polish communist hangovers who, on behalf of Moscow, organized an apparatus of repression against citizens in our country. You yourselves should make an examination of conscience, because quite recently the majority of Parliament voted, in Poland's dispute against Lukashenko and Putin, a resolution in which you stood directly on Lukashenko's and Putin's side when the Polish borders were attacked. What's more, you say that the crisis, war and inflation were caused by pride and lack of listening to Poland and the Baltic States. Oh, that's beautiful. What recipe are you offering right now? Well, you are proposing more of what was, that is, the liquidation of the veto, more competence for Germany and the Eurocrats. It's got to end badly. What's more, consider who is now favored by the fact that you have imposed more sanctions on Poland than on Russia? Because counting down the money that belongs to Poland, that's how it is. Who is it good for? What's more, you want to be considered a moral empire. I have a proposal for you. Let the Germans first account for their crimes and pay reparations to Poland. Because Putin is watching you very closely and thinking like this: I can raze Ukraine to the ground and I will never pay for it. And why? And because if someone asks, I will say that I am doing exactly the same as the Germans. That the past doesn't matter anymore. Let's talk about the future. That's all that matters today. And what? And who is the Russian onuca?
Existence of a clear risk of a serious breach by Hungary of the values on which the Union is founded (debate)
After all, you belong to a political group together with Gerhard Schroeder, if my memory does not confuse me. Is that right? And just here was Vladimir Cimoszewicz, who was the first secretary of communist Russia. He was the overseer of Russia in Poland. How can you not be ashamed to ask such questions? And the fact that you're sitting with him today... Who built Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2? Which political party? You know that without it, there probably wouldn't be a war in Ukraine, because Putin couldn't blackmail us. And who promised Ukraine to fight Russia with weapons that never arrived? This is Chancellor Scholz of your political group. If it weren't for your activities, Ukraine would be safe today. It is a shame that you ask such questions at all.
Existence of a clear risk of a serious breach by Hungary of the values on which the Union is founded (debate)
Indeed, indeed, there is something, which I do not agree with about the Hungarian Government. However, you do not feel better because, for instance, people from your party were, for instance, in Poland, people from a communist regime, Russia Communist regime, and one of them today tried to say to us that he knows everything about democracy. So, that’s the first thing. And the second thing is still the main question. Do you understand that democracy is when you agree with the people’s verdict? The people’s verdict is, as you know, Orbán, he is once again the Prime Minister. This is real democracy.
Existence of a clear risk of a serious breach by Hungary of the values on which the Union is founded (debate)
Madam President, I'm sorry. Well, we have huge inflation in Europe, and you again want sanctions on Hungary and Poland. All in all, you have imposed more on them than on Russia. You say it's for the defence of the rule of law and democracy. But what is democracy? Democracy is people's right to choose the power they want. However, if you do not like the choice, then these undemocratic authorities impose sanctions on the people until the people choose correctly. The rule of law is compliance with the law. The only problem is that because you could not block the funds in accordance with the Treaties, with the law, with Article 7, you are now blocking them without any legal basis, violating the rule of law. So you have beautiful slogans, but really behind these slogans there is dictatorship and contempt for democracy. The President of the European Commission has just said that courage has a face. This is the face of Ukraine. The problem is that cowardice also has a face. This is the face of Germany, whose leadership in Europe has led us to all these problems. What is your recipe for these problems? You say: more German leadership, like Chancellor Scholz. He's not here! Not only did you once – as you admitted today – have to listen to Poland, to your colleagues as well, but also today you have to listen to Poland in order to know what true democracy is. (The speaker agreed to respond to two speeches signaled by raising a blue card.)
Existence of a clear risk of a serious breach by Hungary of the values on which the Union is founded (debate)
So you criticise the democracy in Hungary. I would like to ask you, why do you think you know better everything about Hungary than Hungarian people?
The Three Seas Initiative: challenges and opportunities (topical debate)
Madam President, I'm sorry. Ladies and Gentlemen, First, the Three Seas Initiative: I would like to introduce it to you, to bring it closer, because I believe that it is of great importance, first of all, for Europe. The Three Seas Initiative was established as a forum for cooperation between 12 countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. The Three Seas Initiative covers a total of 1/3 of the total area of the European Union and is home to 112 million citizens. The main goal of the Three Seas is to exploit the economic potential of this part of Europe by creating better internal infrastructural, digital, energy connections, road construction, railway connections, river ports, bridges and, of course, high-speed fibre. The Three Seas countries account for almost 20% of the GDP of the entire European Union and have average economic growth better than the EU average. For example, between 2015 and 2019, the average GDP growth in the Three Seas region was 3.5%. Over the same period, the average GDP growth for the Union as a whole was 1.6%, which shows the potential of this project. That's why the Three Seas Fund was created, worth one billion euros, and its support of about three hundred million dollars was confirmed by America. In addition, seven Three Seas countries have already created a common stock index with the largest companies in these countries. The Three Seas Initiative is fully compatible with the European Union. All the countries making up the initiative are at the same time members of the Union and are active in its development. The Three Seas Initiative is also an opportunity to correct mistakes. First of all, historical errors, i.e. giving allied countries to Russia after World War II, which makes them poorer today, have worse infrastructure and are too often overlooked. They can therefore be quickly rebuilt today, correcting these errors for the benefit of the European Union as a whole. But above all, it is an opportunity to correct energy errors. Namely, the energy model of the European Union, Germany, based on gas from Russia and the fight against coal has just spectacularly collapsed. The threat of lack of energy for the winter and great inflation are the best proof of this. Therefore, the Three Seas is a project to create a network of pipelines that could transport raw material on the north-south axis, build LNG terminals, build and expand gas interconnectors, increase the capacity of the LNG terminal in Świnoujście for gas supplies and the key Baltic Pipe project, which is already being completed – everything that is expected to end the possibility of Russian blackmail of Europe and build energy independence and sovereignty on the Old Continent. In addition, Russia’s aggression in Ukraine has shown how visionary this project was to build energy independence, effectively secure industrial infrastructure and deepen transport interconnections between the countries of the Three Seas – these are the guarantees of Europe’s security and prosperity. The critical infrastructure of Ukraine has also been targeted by Russia, and the level of destruction is estimated at hundreds of billions of euros. Once the Russian aggressor has been repelled – I believe this and I would like this to happen – Ukraine will face the tedious task of rebuilding its roads, railways, hospitals, educational institutions, telecommunications services, energy infrastructure and farmland, to name just a few examples. In short, a Marshall Plan-style development package will be necessary to help the people of Ukraine who are fighting for a peaceful future for Europe. Europe's energy security will also depend on Ukraine's recovery capacity. To sum up, the Three Seas is a visionary project to build a stronger Europe with equal access to infrastructure and goods, without unfair divisions into old and new Europe. It is a project that makes Europe independent of Russia and deprives it of the possibility of blackmail. It is based on economic cooperation without ideology, that is, on everything that once built the strength of Europe. That is why the European Union should get involved in the Three Seas Fund, because the war is taking place abroad of the European Union, not the United States, and yet they have decided to invest their funds in the fund. It is now time for the European Union to decide. If we want a strong and secure Europe, we must ensure equality, not only of gender, but also of road, rail, digital and energy infrastructure. This is where our future is decided, in this part of Europe that is the backbone of good in the fight against evil.
US Supreme Court decision to overturn abortion rights in the United States and the need to safeguard abortion rights and Women’s health in the EU (debate)
Madam President, I'm sorry. Well, I wanted to remind you that you have just condemned Poland for the solutions in the judiciary that you are applying yourself, but you have claimed that you are doing this because you defend the right of judges to independence. Now what are you doing? You want to condemn the judges of the United States for exercising their independence. This is the true separation of powers according to you: Judges can only judge as you wish. Oh, congratulations! In addition, you want to teach morality to America, which you hate so much. But what did you really do to protect the lives of children in Ukraine? Ukraine is the border of the European Union, not of the United States. And somehow strangely enough, the United States is able to send weapons there. And you what? Let us recall: Germany. What did you promise? 30 Cheetah guns. To this day, they do not exist, because – I quote – it turned out that there was no ammunition. Mars launchers. However, they are not there, because you say that there are problems with the software. IRIS-T systems – not available, as the set turned out to be unfinished. By your inaction, you support the deaths of innocent children. And I'm not surprised, ladies and gentlemen, that you want to condemn the United States today for wanting to defend life. A regrettable consequence. I know that I am here in a minority, a definite minority, but even if I were here alone, someone has to defend life. Someone has to protect the lives of the weakest. And we will do it to the end, because we are for the civilization of life, not for the civilization of death.
National vetoes to undermine the global tax deal (debate)
Mr President, thank you very much. Commissioner, thank you very much. Mr. Minister, I'm sorry. Well, you have organized a debate about condemning one state because it has applied a veto, and you talk a lot about the rule of law. The rule of law is the observance of the law. Did the state have the right to do so? It did, but you don't like that he's applying his law. You talk a lot about democracy, but democracy is respecting a different voice. And you want to condemn a different voice today. Well, for you, the rule of law is non-compliance with treaties, and this can be seen in many other cases. Democracy is a dictatorship, because only what we agree with is possible. And if you're talking about the solidarity you're referring to, that's very good, but let's start with solidarity in more important matters. Well, for example, in those that led us to gigantic problems, inflation, namely Nord Stream. Why is Nord Stream 2 still unfolding? Do something, European Commission, to spread this shameful project and then we will talk about real solidarity.
Approval of the minutes of the previous sitting
Madam President, I'm sorry. I would like to make a formal request to postpone the vote on the elements of the Fit for 55 package to the next session of Parliament. Why is that? I'm already justifying it. Europeans are struggling with the effects of inflation. Life is getting more expensive, bankruptcy is getting more and more, families are not enough from the first to the first. It is not enough because Europe lacks stable energy sources. There are three stable energy sources: coal, gas and atom. For the last few years, you've been fighting the atom and you've been fighting the coal. We've got gas left. What are the consequences? Oh, you see. And today, if we pass this project, it will mean an end to coal, and at the same time it will mean an increase in the price of living for all Europeans. Think about it, because you have to learn from your mistakes. Otherwise, we will again be dependent on Putin. Even the Netherlands, full of windmills, is returning to coal, Germany is returning to coal. Think about it. We are responsible for the lives of Europeans.
