How we count
- Yes, No and Abstention come from the European Parliament's roll-call voting protocol.
- “Did not vote” is derived: MEPs with a mandate on the voting day for whom no vote was recorded. Abstentions do not count towards this.
- Subsequent vote corrections are shown but do not change the official result.
- Each vote (overall vote, amendment, partial vote) counts separately. Therefore totals may differ from pages that count differently.

What is this about?
- The amendment to the EU Climate Law proposes setting a binding 2040 intermediate target of a 90% net reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to 1990 levels.
- This aims to ensure climate neutrality by 2050 and negative emissions thereafter.
- The proposal emphasizes a just transition, addressing social and economic impacts across member states.
- Natural and technological carbon removals are reinforced as complementary measures to emission reductions.
- Enhancing the competitiveness of European industry and diversifying critical raw material sources are key priorities.
