European Union designs (codification)

This regulation consolidates existing EU law on Community designs into a single codified text without introducing substantive changes. It aims to streamline the legal framework by incorporating Regulation (EC) No 6/2002 into a clearer structure. The process adheres to an accelerated procedure for official codification of legal acts. Only minor editorial adjustments, such as correcting wording in recitals, were made. The political objective is to enhance legal certainty and accessibility for design protection across the EU.
