Recent proposals to fight poverty in the EU (debate)
Mr President, Commissioner, it is a pleasure to see you again in this hall. Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, it is not pious to sing about the fallen, said Ulysses to his servant, after the massacre of Proci by himself on his return to Ithaca. Similarly, it is not pious – and it is undoubtedly ironic – for this Commission to question the poverty it has itself caused by its wicked choices and policies. Stability Pact, Green Deal, industrial desertification, endless war, counterproductive sanctions, common debt, arms spending, increased own resources, international irrelevance and Mercosur are just some of the reckless choices that this Commission has implemented and that have pushed the whole Eurozone to the ground. Then, having established your incompetence, step aside and let the damage you yourself have caused to sovereign states be resolved, because today you do not represent the cure, but only the epidemic.
