Because the established parties see their media power undermined by the advent of social media where everyone can express their opinion. That is why you want to silence the people from the broad social opposition. In fact, you're planning a lawsuit against X by Elon Musk, the former Twitter, because it doesn't go along with your plans, and you're threatening him with monster fines. It seems like the EUSSR here, in which a real Pravda is allowed to proclaim the only real truth. We therefore call on the electorate to oppose this in the upcoming elections. Free speech is a fundamental right in our democracy.

Soon only burned jokes about dumb blondes or old white men will be allowed. That, ladies and gentlemen, is self-hatred.

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, the European Commission wants to defend democracy by increasing the transparency of the administration and issuing a number of rules to protect us from corruption attempts by the Russians and the Chinese. But the European Commission itself has butter on its head. Its president, Christian Democrat Ursula von der Leyen, ordered one billion doses of the COVID vaccine, costing European taxpayers billions of euros. Asked for some transparency about this strange secret order, the Commission President refused to release her communication on it. Zero transparency. Second example: Qatargate. There is still someone sitting here in this House as a member of the Socialist Group. A political group in which several Members were found guilty of serious corruption involving the payment of millions of euros. As my grandmother always said, the Commission knew: It's good to look at your own heart before bed.

Continuing threat to the rule of law, the independence of justice and the non-fulfilment of conditionality for EU funding in Hungary (debate)

More than 20 billion euros of European funds will be frozen for Hungary, because, among other things, the legal system would not be biased. But other countries are left untouched in this regard. In Belgium, for example, the Constitutional Court is staffed by political creatures and no one beeps about it. Another Belgian example: a right-wing bartender is fined EUR 5 000 in Leuven and sentenced to six months in prison for the slogan ‘Liever a cow in the pasture than an asylum seeker’. But on the other hand, the chairman of the Socialist Party, a ruling party, receives no fine, no prison sentence when he admonishes the police to work – and I quote – ‘brown scum’ with the matrak. Hundreds of thousands a year use this asylum. And then the entry visas. Not infrequently, these are granted too quickly or even sold for a lot of money by certain Member States of the European Union. The Belgian government also proved this summer that these visas are being handled very laxly. She gave visas to Iranian fundamentalists, led by one Alireza Zakani, at the time responsible for the bloody crackdown on Iranian dissidents. 2022 Report on Türkiye (debate)

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, today we are discussing the report on Turkey and I would like to compare two cases. Russia occupies one-fourth of Ukraine. Ukraine is not a member of the European Union. Russia is being severely punished, and we are donating billions of weapons to Ukraine. Turkey occupies half of Cyprus. This country is a member of the EU. Turkey has not been subjected to severe sanctions. On the contrary, Erdoğan received EUR 20 billion from the European taxpayer in recent years. Sultan Erdoğan, moreover, does not hesitate to blackmail you, and has imprisoned tens of thousands of opponents in his own country. And yet you still consider Turkey, a country with 80 million Muslims, to be a candidate member of the European Union. Everyone goes astray once in a while, colleagues, but it is, of course, very foolish to persist in this.

Tax the rich (topical debate)

Mr President, in this debate, the left-wing parties are demanding more taxes under the motto ‘Tax the rich’. Let the rich pay, then they – the left – can of course spend more. But then I would like to say that capital and capital gains are already heavily taxed. Let me give you the example of Belgium. There is corporation tax, withholding tax, property tax, rent tax. There are inheritance rights, gift rights, registration rights, mortgage rights. There are levies on pension funds, stock exchange transactions and securities accounts. There is no shortage of taxes. So we are not for the envy society of the left. Those who work hard, those who innovate, those who succeed should be able to enjoy it, but indeed also contribute their share, among other things to help people who are affected by adversity. But skimming more and more money for the benefit of an almighty state, that is a left-wing recipe that we do not like. But I will do our left-wing colleagues one favor anyway. The Vlaams Belang agrees that all multinationals must contribute their share. Today, some of them do not pay any taxes at all, and that is why we propose a tax of at least 15% – each its part, as my grandmother always said.

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, I would like to talk about Frontex, our European border guard. The annual budget increases to EUR 1 billion. The workforce will increase from 2 000 to 10 000 in the coming years. Those agents have drones, satellite images, off-road vehicles and patrol planes. And so one would think: “Okay, it's heading in the right direction.” And yet it doesn't work. There are already some 5 to 6 million illegal aliens in our countries and many hundreds of thousands of undocumented people are arriving in the European Union every year. And why? Frontex is being countered in every way by the left-wing parties in this hemisphere, who are constantly waving human rights to make it difficult to drive back illegals, and by left-wing NGOs, subsidised by you, who are pursuing trial after trial against Frontex. It doesn't go on like that. We call for generalised pushbacks and for the reception of refugees in their own region. Europe is already hosting millions of Ukrainian refugees, and we cannot support all those seeking happiness from other continents. Mr President, the cause of inflation and falling purchasing power is the runaway price of energy. This is due, for example, to the divestment of nuclear power plants in France, which used to generate 75% of its electricity from nuclear power. There is now even a warning in France about electricity failures, in the country that used to be three-quarters from nuclear energy. Or even more stupid, in Belgium, where governments – also with N-VA – invariably confirmed the nuclear exit, so that we now have to burn expensive gas to replace the cheap electricity from our nuclear power plants. How crazy can you think of it. Even stronger, as a result, we will soon have too little gas to supply our homes and our industry. Of course, the other parties here claim that the war in Ukraine is the cause, but to my knowledge, the Russians have not decided the nuclear exit. That's what you did. The result of all this is that we now have to beg for expensive LPG in Qatar with the friends of the socialists. Bravo!

The need for a European solution on asylum and migration including search and rescue (debate)

Mr President, the asylum crisis has never gone away. Today, 40 000 asylum seekers enter Belgium every year, around one million across Europe. That is untenable and I have therefore tabled a resolution, a resolution aimed at resolving the matter definitively. The proposal is to repeal the 1967 New York Protocol. This would mean that we would only receive refugees from Europe, which is what we are doing now with the countless Ukrainian refugees. That was the purpose of the Refugee Convention in 1951 after the Second World War: providing a safe haven for the many millions of European refugees. But in 1967, with that protocol, we gave up that limit and are now supposed to welcome the whole world here. That has to stop. Allowing millions of migrants will disrupt our society and implode our social security. I therefore ask for your support for this resolution.

They blatantly call themselves ‘communists’, while everyone since the book of French academics Le livre noir du communisme Know that this was the most murderous system ever, with 100 million dead under Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and so on. No one is talking about that, though. The cordon sanitaire does not apply to the Communists. On the contrary! Socialists, Christian Democrats and Liberals regularly cooperate with these Communists in this House. It has taken thousands of man-hours and is, of course, supported by the Left – Greens, Communists and Socialists – but also by Christian Democrats and Liberals. And I really wonder if their constituents have a message for that now.

Vorzitter, some colleagues do not want nuclear power plants because they would support Putin. That is a lie, because there are many other suppliers of nuclear fuel, for example Canada and Australia. In the meantime, green fanaticism, in which nuclear energy was diabolized, has yielded the following result: The Belgian prime minister must beg ENGIE to keep nuclear power plants open. The Belgian green minister has to build gas plants. The Netherlands uses more and more coal-fired power plants and in Germany the government is now going to burn a lot of lignite. Brown cabbage! Soon we may have to inflame dried cow manure. For those who wonder what the superlative of ‘stupide’ is, the answer is ‘green!’ Worse is that socialists, Christian Democrats and liberals are partly responsible for that madness. Hopefully the coming winters will not be too harsh, because then it would become painfully clear to the population how disastrous this policy has been so far.

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, today we are discussing the European Commission's plan for labour migration from Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. The aim is to deal with labour shortages in Europe. Agreements must also be concluded with Senegal, with Nigeria, with Pakistan and even with Bangladesh. Already three million – three million – non-European foreigners enter the EU every year. But apparently that is not enough for the prophets of the population. We are categorically opposed to this plan. And for the following reasons. First of all, there are 13 million fucking unemployed in the EU. Why should we import guest workers? Secondly, the enormous suction effect that will emanate from these immigrant workers is concealed. Of course, they also want to bring their family – and if possible their entire family – here, which in many cases will mean an additional burden for the already heavily taxed social security system. Worse still, the more Tunisians, Senegalese, Pakistanis and so on are allowed to come here, the greater the appeal in the countries of those who were left behind. So the tamtam will sound louder than ever before. This plan of Christian Democrats, Socialists and Liberals is therefore nonsensical. The boat is full.

The dramatic thing is that you have chosen to do so. No lessons were learned from the double petroleum boycott of the 1970s imposed on us by the Muslim countries. Mr President, my colleagues everywhere want to impose universal human rights in order to make the world a safer place, but they do not think that these are not rights, and certainly not universal rights. After all, they are not enforceable outside the Western world, which shows that they are not rights, and most countries do not think about applying them, which means that they are not universal either. It is highly unlikely that Islamic regimes will renounce the Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam, in which fifty Islamic countries declared in 1990 that Sharia law is above international rules. It is equally unlikely that communist dictatorships, such as China or North Korea, will respond to these pleas. The EU should focus on realpolitik rather than moralpolitik based on left-liberal delusions and utopian moral targets.

New orientations for the EU’s humanitarian action (debate)

Mr President, never in history have so many Third World residents been in extreme distress, namely a quarter of a billion. Causes are wars, corrupt regimes, food and water shortages and of course the population explosion. Every year, the population in the underdeveloped countries increases by 80 million. That is an unsustainable situation. And what do we do about it? We import their population surpluses, with all the problems that this poses for our population, and we pour billions into bottomless wells. The EU is already the largest donor in the world, but according to all the other political groups that is apparently not enough. Of course we have to help people with sudden natural disasters and other disasters. But the causes of chronic problems need to be addressed. Giving more and more billions and bringing millions of refugees here is not a solution. In the end, our social security system also capsizes. To put it with a metaphor: Our lifeboat will also sink as they hoist more and more people aboard. It can and should be different: thorough monitoring of the use of our taxpayers' money, only recurrent aid under strict conditions, such as keeping migration and natality in check. The world's population is at risk of rising from 7.5 to 11 billion people this century. It is insane to think that we Europeans can vouch for those billions of extra hungry people in the world.

The rise of right-wing extremism and racism in Europe (in light of recent events in Rome) (debate)

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, this is too crazy for words. In Rome some hotheads caused destruction and immediately there must be a great debate about racism and fascism. Not in the City Council of Rome, therefore, no, in the plenary session of the European Parliament. Why? Forza Nuova in Italy won 0.1 percent of the vote. Not really a threat to democracy. One is very one-sided in outrage here. There is no debate about the many left-wing violence in Italy. Nor is there a debate about the Islamic terror that is affecting Europe. Not a word, for example, about the recent massacre by a Muslim in Norway. Not a word about the Somali who killed an English representative last weekend. Colleagues, we would better deal with the real problems: Ensuring sufficient and affordable energy instead of that insane Green Deal, strengthening our economic clout with China and, of course, stopping Islamization and mass migration flows.

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, energy is becoming painfully expensive and yet the European Union persists in its anger with its priceless Green Deal, while the better option is obvious: Nuclear power, which is cheap, reliable, emits only water vapour and the waste can be safely disposed of in geologically stable layers. But the purple-green government in Belgium is also stubbornly continuing. He is suffering from a nuclear phobia. Meanwhile, for example, Great Britain and Sweden are focusing on nuclear energy. Investments are being made in third- and fourth-generation reactors in Japan, South Korea, China, the US, Russia, France and Finland. In Flanders, with the Study Centre for Nuclear Energy in Mol, we have a global player in scientific research, but the purple-green government explicitly does not encourage this. And it could be even crazier. The European Commission approves that the Belgian government will provide €3 billion in subsidies to polluting gas power plants to replace existing – and clean – nuclear power plants. Conclusion. In Belgium, therefore, we have a green minister who hates nuclear energy and prefers to burn gas en masse. The fact that Tinne Van der Straeten until recently owned half of the shares of law firm Blixt may play a role. The office has defended the interests of the gas lobby in the past. I rest my case.

Direction of EU-Russia political relations (debate)

Mr President, this recommendation states that Russia is an integral part of the European continent, that there are strong historical ties and that Russia is one of our largest trading partners. Enough reasons, therefore, to approach such a neighbouring country diplomatically. Instead, however, there is a threat of heaps of sanctions. Russia does not want to bend to the left-liberal dogmas – including Poland and Hungary – and therefore all devils are released. Europe would do better to seek a good understanding. It is a huge country with huge stocks of raw materials. With a sensible approach, we could use our technology and our financial resources to establish a formidable economic cooperation that would benefit both parties. However, they prefer to do business with, for example, fundamentalist Gulf states or the communist regime in Beijing. What hypocrisy and stupidity!

Conclusions of the European Council meeting of 24-25 June 2021 (debate)

Mr President, the European Union condemns President Putin's restriction of fundamental freedoms and therefore wants to continue pumping money into human rights organisations and independent media in Russia. In doing so, the EU is undermining Russia's sovereignty. Imagine the opposite. Furthermore, the Russian President was elected by 76% of voters, which cannot be said about the European Commission, which is not elected at all. Finally, there is hypocrisy regarding freedom of expression. Geert Wilders is convicted for his opposition to mass immigration. In Belgium, prison sentences are imposed if Islamization is protested. Moreover, the Belgian state channel has become a red-green propaganda channel and all parties are allowed to carry out propaganda in the newspapers during the elections, except for the Vlaams Belang. So take a look at yourself before you lecture Russia.
