Madam President, thank you very much. The EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) would reduce emissions. Instead, it risks destroying European industry. Swedish households are already noticing this on their electricity bills. The company notices it in the form of higher costs and investments moving abroad. And at the same time, Brussels continues to make energy more expensive. The result: Jobs are leaving Europe, industry is leaving Europe. Emissions will not disappear. They're just moving to China. Europe cannot become fossil-free by becoming industry-free. We need cheap and stable energy, not policies that make us poorer and more dependent on other great powers. That is why the ETS needs a major overhaul, and before Europe's climate policy becomes Europe's industrial suicide.

Mr President, Commissioner, colleagues, we are witnessing the largest oil supply shock in history. Energy prices are soaring, driving up fertiliser costs and threatening food security for European families and farmers. Jet fuel stocks are critically low. Commissioner Jørgensen urged Europeans to work from home where possible, and President von der Leyen stated that we should reduce demand. The builder, the baker, the bus driver – they cannot telework, but the EU Parliament can. My colleague, Dick Erixon, and Members across groups wrote to President Metsola urging we stop the monthly travelling circus between Brussels and Strasbourg for as long as this crisis requires. We stopped it during Covid, we can stop it now, colleagues. Or is the EU above the demands it requires from ordinary citizens? Think about that.

Mr President, one step inside Europe and all these so-called fundamental rights are yours: the right to live with your under‑age wife, child‑spouse, and to reunify with your child‑spouse and family even if you cannot support yourself. The right to fake your age, be treated as a child, and get your own teddy bear, even if you look like a 35‑year‑old. The right to stay even if you're a convicted criminal because your home country's prison isn't comfortable enough, because you built a private life, or because your son that you barely know prefers local chicken nuggets. The right to welfare, to jump the social housing queue, to pocket money every day, and to remain outside the labour market even if you refuse to cooperate or integrate. The right to hate Europe and Europeans while blaming structural racism for all your problems, all while living on taxpayers' money. The right to halal meals, Islamic prayer facilities, 'culturally sensitive housing', no forced assimilation, the right to wear the hijab or burqa, and to build and open mosques on European streets instead of adopting European culture. The right not to learn our language while being fully serviced and interpreted in your own language at every stage. The right to use fake or destroy...

Madam President, today, Sweden woke up to yet another Iranian assassination plot on European soil. The regime has ordered the murder of Swedish Iranian expert and Reza Pahlavi supporter, Arvin Khoshnood, through its terrorist proxies in the Foxtrot criminal network, right on our own soil. This is something that the Sweden Democrats warned about for years. When you open the door to mass uncontrolled migration and failed integration, Islamist regimes exploit our street gangs to spread terror, attack our citizens and threaten our national security. Enough is enough. The EU has to wake up. We need to expel Iranian diplomats from Europe. We need to close regime‑funded mosques, such as the Imam Ali Islamic Centre outside Stockholm. We need to follow Australia's strong example with crushing sanctions. The time when Islamists treat Europe as their own playground must be over once and for all.

Madam President, Spain's socialist mass amnesty for half a million illegal migrants is a wrecking ball to Schengen and invites more illegal entries. Social democrats cheer it on. But where are the Swedish Social Democrats? Absent. Afraid. Only hours ago, terrified of the Sweden Democrats, they voted with us on migration – legislation their own socialist group branded a threat to European democracy that would destroy the right to asylum. Now, as their Spanish sister party shatters any claim to responsible migration policy, the Swedish Social Democrats are nowhere to be found. Is it because this amnesty ruins their pathetic attempt to look tough on migration that they do not dare to stand up to their own group, as they would not be invited to the next socialist cocktail celebrating mass migration? But dear socialists, please tell us: do the Swedish Social Democrats oppose this insanity? Sweden's voters deserve to know.

Mr President, colleagues, the freezing of the US-EU trade deal is not just a response to President Trump's tariff threats over Greenland. It's a wake-up call. For many of us in Europe, especially those of us who have always been pro-American, this latest episode with Greenland has crossed a line. It is painful. For years, there have always been voices in Europe resentful of America. But now even those of us who deeply value the transatlantic alliance are losing trust. Sweden, for example, is making massive investments in our military, taking our NATO commitment seriously. We recognise that it is wrong to freeride on the American taxpayer. Yet today we find ourselves punished simply because we stand by Danish sovereignty over Greenland. As a conservative, I would like to call upon Republicans in Congress. Let's find a way forward that respects each other's sovereignty and build us a future of mutual respect, not division.

Well, obviously there are lots of historical examples that you could use, but the situation today is quite clear – that migrants have been passing through safe countries on their way to destination countries in northern Europe, primarily like Germany, like Sweden, asylum shopping, and we're starting to deal with that problem now by designating safe third countries, by stopping this asylum shopping. Are you in favour of asylum shopping, Mr Sieper?

Madam President, Commissioner, I would like to express my gratitude to the Danish Presidency for its tough and serious approach on migration. The new majority in Europe will make sure Parliament works with the Council, not against it, to regain control. Illegal migrants must understand one thing very clearly: there is no way they will make Europe their home. The EU budget must reflect that reality. Fund wall construction at the external border, make EU return hubs real – build them – and for every migrant a foreign country refuses to take back, EUR 10 000 is automatically cut from EU aid. No bargaining, no exceptions. That is firm and it is fair.

Madam President, across Europe, the fight against migrant smuggling and human trafficking demands results, not just regulations. The message from police officers who deal with these crimes daily is clear: the challenge is not a lack of EU structures; it's national tools not being fully used. Confiscation laws exist but aren't enforced. Intelligence flows too slowly. Financial crime units are underused. That's why the Commission's original plan for a major expansion of Europol's operational powers was the wrong path and thankfully the trilogue scaled it back. Instead of drifting toward federalised policing, let's double down on what works: fast moving intelligence, joint operations like EncroChat and stronger financial tracing. Europol does have a vital role, but it must support – not replace – national forces. Effective policing starts at home with the right priorities and political will.

Thank you for your comment. Now, the European Commission, during the previous mandate, had a Commissioner named Ylva Johansson, who happened to be from my country. She said Europe needs migration, and we need to have forced solidarity – which is to dictate policy from Brussels. And I do think that if Sweden gets the opportunity to work with the problems that we have without any further mass migration, we will improve our country. But if we keep on accepting migrants year after year, there will be no room for integration nor assimilation. So what I'm afraid of is parallel societies, segregation, violence, gangs. And you should come to Sweden, because it's a real problem. Welcome to my country from here, the ivory tower.

My point is, Mr Sieper, that the European Union is establishing a system of redistribution, redistribution of migrants, and Sweden can take no more migrants from other parts of the world. Luckily, the system allows for Member States to opt out of this redistribution scheme, and Sweden will certainly use that option. So what I'm talking about is not in breach of EU law, but it is a challenge to the idea that Brussels should take the right to allocate migrants to our countries and dictate the futures of our countries. That's what it is.

Can you convince them that EU citizenship should be handed to 85 million Muslims? Can you persuade Swedish taxpayers that they must pay even more into Brussels? Cars, watches, clothes, even villas – over 200 cases this year, millions seized. Imagine the message it sends when a gang boss is pulled over in his Porsche and, minutes later, must walk home with his girlfriend after police seized the car. That is deterrence. Because Jihad, an alleged rapist and 'British' citizen, attacked a Manchester synagogue on Yom Kippur; because two 'Germans' – Abed and Ahmad – and a Lebanese national plotted attacks against Jewish sites; because across Europe, 'peaceful' protesters are chanting 'Free Palestine', the new 'Allahu Akbar'. What they are really saying is 'death to the Jew'. Why is this happening? As Jimmie Åkesson says, if you import the Middle East, you get the Middle East. The Middle East: the most antisemitic region in the world. What should we do, then? Deny citizenship, reject asylum, mass deportations.
